    Açaí bowl with peanut butter
    Matthew M.

Really nice cafe located just outside the resorts in Wailea. Modern clean design with both indoor and outdoor seating with friendly, polite and attentive staff. They have a menu with a variety of hashes and plates meals. The açaí bowl was packed with goodness, my wife has the hash special but the potatoes were a little undercooked for her liking. My Cuban sandwich was one of the best I have ever had. The Dijon sauce and sears gave it a really nice flavor. This is a great option for breakfast or lunch just outside of the resorts, oh and we saw Adam Sandler's wife and daughters there eating so breakfast so you might even see a movie star or two if you visit!

Avocado Toast Missing the micro this is AFTERwards-supposed to be over easy egg & received an over medium/hard egg.

I was excited to try this place after reading the "Open Table" reviews. I walked in right before 3pm, looked around-cutsie decor, went to the register to order, (recognized that this establishment is a place where you order your food and then go sit down, no worries) but NO acknowledgment, NO Aloha, Everyone just staring at me and not even a smile, a nod or anything. Not like the islands! I was staying nearby at the Wailea Marriott but I actually have property on island so I'm here every/or every other month from Kauai.. I actually intended on going to Akamai Coffee for an avocado toast, but unfortunately they had stopped serving lunch at 2 PM, so I looked up places to eat in the area and it was literally just like right next-door, very cute setting, beautiful ambience. The workers are very kind amongst one another, greeting & embracing one another with hugs- so kind & amazing, but as a patron- I was treated like the scum of the Earth. I've been wanting avocado toast since I arrived, so that's what I ordered. Worst avocado toast I have ever seen or indulged- not to mention, I asked for it to be served "here" and he put it "to go," He gave me wood utensils, so I went up and asked for actual utensils because the wooden ones are just not going to cut it, (I an in the restaurant writing this as we speak) especially while in a box, lo & behold, when I opened my Togo box, it was missing the micro greens listed in the menu- it literally just looked like avocado on toast, that's all that it was- I paid $18 for avocado on sourdough not that money is an issue because I spend hundreds on meals. I am such a foodie, so I brought the food back to the register and mentioned that it was missing the micro greens, also I don't think there was any olive oil, but at this point, I'm already like annoyed and I'm starving, this is my first meal of the day, so he brings it back to me in the box with the greens. Not to mention- I also asked for an over easy egg and my egg was cooked over, medium/hard. There is at least seven people working here and they all have the same nonchalant attitude. Nobody is smiling, unless it's amongst one another. With that being said-it's super cute inside and I don't know if everybody just had a bad day or they were just ready to go home but I did not appreciate the energy inside this establishment, but it is a gem inside/patio. I can't take that away from them. Only rain there recovering a 2 star instead of a 1. I'm just very disappointed with my item & these dismissive personalities.

Banh mi (left) and Surfalotta (right)

If you're looking for a break from rice and ono grindz in the area, this is a refreshing spot within walking distance from most of the Wailea hotels. Inside is nicely decorated, not super Hawaiian feeling inside, but seems like it fits the vibes of the more upscale area. There's ample seating inside and out on the patio, and the staff is nice. What we got: - banh mi - 5/5. Was a bit thrown off by the bread, since traditional ones are on a French baguette, but the soft bread with extra crispy crust was really quite superb. Be warned since the sliced jalepeños were HOT. Pork belly had brilliant deep flavor. The fresh pickled veggies were a warm welcome after not seeing a vegetable for days. - surfalotta (4/5) - a really killer Italian sandwich. Reminded me of sandwiches in NOLA because of the olive tapenade. Also really good, but the banh mi edged it out. This is a nice break from traditional Hawaiian eats - a must try.

We booked a reservation for 8 people and were the first people there which was great ambiance. While my family enjoyed the a la carte menu I enjoyed the pre fixe menu which provided a lot to you! My brothers enjoyed the caviar and enjoyed it. It was very easily shareable. Husband enjoyed the white lotus and it was okay. Sister in law had the Mon Cheri and two thumbs up! I enjoyed the smoke libation among my brothers and then a glass of Chardonnay. For meals, on the pre fixe menu they had wagyu and a catch of the day. The catch of the day was TWO HANDS UP DELICIOUS. the herb oil with it YUMMY. The romesco as well was really good flavors. The wagyu had good flavors but the potatoes were eh. My brother and husband had the ribeye. It was not great. Could have been prepared better. It was overcooked for both of them. It was very dry. They did not enjoy at all. For dessert I had little donuts and banana tart which they put on one plate and that was really good! Very PB&J.

Came here for breakfast on a Sunday and can't wait to come back again! Everything we tried was tasty and healthy. Service was friendly and helpful. Order first and they will bring your food and drinks to you. There is a station where you get your own utensils and water. The view was amazing from indoors and some outdoors! We sat outside and was lucky to have ocean and view of Kahoolawe while we enjoyed our meal. The vibe definitely had relaxing island feel. Definitely recommend to stop in and try when in Wailea! They serve Breakfast all day. They also have a Lunch and Dinner Menu.

This was our favorite meal on Maui!!! We went for dinner, and we're devastated we didn't have time to go back and try breakfast and lunch. It's a low key spot with a great view, and kids are welcome. The service was WONDERFUL. We ordered what felt like half the menu between our party, and by far the standout was the Truffle Gnocchi. We all agreed we could have eaten endless orders of that! Another favorite was the ribeye (we're not totally sure if it was dry aged or wagyu) on a bed of parsnip puree. The Brussels sprouts were also so flavorful, with big chunks of guanciale. Drinks were great, dessert was delightful, everything is sourced locally and as such, seasonal. Truly all around a fantastic meal.

BLT... delicious, but a little too fancy for a BLT for me
    Bradley L.

Major shoutout to Robyn K on Yelp for her review and pointing us toward The Spoon and Key -- what a solid rec. Tucked into a modern shopping plaza just a short walk from Wailea Beach and minutes from the Four Seasons and Waldorf Astoria, this spot totally fits the elevated, breezy Maui vibe. (Just a note we did not stay at the Four Seasons or Waldorf Astoria) Yes, it's in a shopping center, but don't let that fool you -- the space is clean, minimalist, and well-designed, and the food is super fresh and thoughtfully put together. We split the BLT, which was definitely elevated -- though I'm a sucker for the classic: white bread, iceberg, thick-cut crispy bacon, tomato, and mayo. That said, this version was delicious in its own right. We also shared a chocolate chip cookie (soft and melty -- exactly what you want), and grabbed a bag of Maui chips... which, plot twist, are made in Plano, Texas. I had an orange San Pellegrino for a little post-beach pick-me-up. After a full day in the sun, that sugar and fizz hit just right. Perfect spot for a fresh, easygoing meal that still feels curated. Whether it's breakfast, lunch, or dinner, I'd absolutely come back. Looking back, grabbing this to-go and heading to the beach would've been chef's kiss.

    Kale Salad
    Brittany S.

Life changing Kale salad. The chili vinaigrette is such a bold and fantastic combination with the creamy goat cheese and sweet potatoes. The portion size is enough for two meals honestly. I'll be having dreams about this salad.

This place was so good! We had a couple hours before check in at the hotel and stopped by for a glass of wine and cheese board and it was a legit board with a good amount of food. Would absolutely recommend

    acai bowl
    Janelle K.

The acai bowl tasted pretty good but I struggle to see this as a true acai bowl. The acai isn't like normal acai but seems to be an acai sorbet, and it isn't built like a normal acai bowl with acai on bottom and the fruit on top. I also thought the portion size was very small and it wasn't very filling, especially for the price. I feel like it should have banana in it and that would help. It had pineapple instead, which I didn't care for. I paid an extra dollar for peanut butter and they added only a very small amount too. I have had better acai bowls on Maui for sure. The mocha was also just mediocre. Service was a little slow and outside seating was nice other than loud leaf blowing happening the whole time just 20 feet away.

Cute little restaurant with fresh baked breads and delicious gourmet foods to order.

So happy we discovered this little gem in Wailea! We came in for a late breakfast, and the server was very sweet and kind. The space is light and airy with both indoor and outside patio seating. It was pretty hot, so we dined inside. My husband ordered the Bloody Mary and the Pig & Egg Panini with ham, egg, cheddar dijon and sourdough, and I got the "So You Can Think You Can Salsa" wrap with fluffy moist eggs, tender potatoes, cheddar cheese and cumin aioli. The Bloody Mary was hearty with a delicious amount of spice and horseradish ratio. I absolutely loved my wrap, and the eggs were generous and cooked perfectly. Servings are big, and we both took the other half back to our condo to enjoy the next morning. Highly recommend this spot, and bummed we didn't discovered it sooner on our trip!

This restaurant is a MUST on your trip to Maui! The attention to detail is very evident! Presentation and food quality and service are superb! We had the good fortune to have Abby as our server on Thursday evening... what a delightful experience we had! Abby's delightful and genuine hospitality was magnificent! For locals and visitors alike this is a must do hands down! Ask for Abby and prepare to be wowed!!!! Mahalo plenty!!!!

I've been avoiding this review for a long time. I'm hoping that this message will actually land in…read morethe hands of the corporate management team. I live on Maui. I shop at this Safeway constantly. I also shop at the two other Safeway stores in Kahului. There's a glaring issue at this store which is often noticed by several shoppers as we all search the: Entrances, self-checkout, every checkout line, back to the self-checkout and then... Back outside to get a cart because there's absolutely zero hand baskets to grab a few items. None. Chronically. I shop at odd hours. Tonight, 12:30 in the morning? There were none, anywhere. A few weeks ago? Stacks of them. They suddenly disappeared. I shop there daily. I do not buy a cart full of groceries. I live alone and do not dare fill my fridge. A bag of groceries at a time is sufficient. Having to use a cart causes gathering more items than will fit in a bag, which I want to be able to carry in one trip from my parking area to my second floor apartment. Stacks of these baskets just disappear from this store, suddenly. No other nearby grocery stores apparently have this problem. Times? Always a stack by the entrance. Foodland? Always a stack by the entrance. The other Safeway locations? So many it makes me wonder what's actually happening. The employee I spoke to says 'people just take them to their cars and drive away with them.' Ok, sure. Then why not the Times and Foodland baskets? Why not the Safeway location that has two homeless camps nearby? That store has more hand baskets than parking spots! Recently they started charging 15 cents for bags. Maybe I'm just old school but isn't that what the food we pay a lot for is already supposed to cover the costs of? I pay $5 a pound for 5 apples and then I have to pay 15 cents to avoid juggling them? But with any phone number there's an always sale on most items. They will discount items for me sometimes in dollars but if I want to buy enough I can't carry them it's 15 cents more. Oh, and then they also eliminated the bags with carry handles so paying for bags decreased the quality of each bag I have to buy. And I have to use a cart to make my selections, pushing the cart around looking so empty. It's a psychological trick - remove the hand baskets that carry exactly one bag of groceries, make customera use a cart that is easy to impulsively add a few items too many for a bag, charge for bags and decrease the quality of the bags so they're more difficult to carry. Oh, and once you walked all over hoping to find a convenient hand baskets you have to walk back out to the parking lot to get a cart with self-locking wheels that sometimes activate automatically by one of the two entrances. It's the ONLY grocery store on Maui that can't seem to keep track of their hand baskets. Two stars because this problem is isolated to this store and that needs upper management to intervene. Oh, and while I'm getting management on the line - your new flavors of always on sale buy 2 get 1 free items don't ring up correctly - that's a $4.99 sleight of hand, I mean, false advertising that has tricked me a few times until I figured out what the problem is: the new UPC flavor isn't tied to the sale price that the other 7 flavors of same brand and size beverages are displayed with. An entire beverage cooler with every item marked buy 2 get 1 free should have all the prices marked correctly. I have mentioned it to each store 'management' and every cashier corrects it manually because that's the right price. I'll change my rating to 3 stars if you fix the false advertising on the new flavor beverages. I'll make it 4 stars when the hand basket problem gets solved. If the store manager can't figure it out maybe they could ask the management at Times or Foodland just down the road a bit how they are able to keep their baskets - baskets that appear like they have had them for awhile.

I especially remember their sunset poke and how good it was, so I knew I had to try it again when I came back. My husband and I arrive a little past noon and waited a little behind a group of young adults. It took a while since it was only 1 person assisting 4 people, until another man arrived to help us. I ordered the sunset poke, and my husband got the shoyu yellowtail. After receiving our fish, we lined up behind the group earlier to pay. As they were leaving, I noticed they were given sets of forks and chopsticks from the cashier. When it was our turn to pay, the cashier didn't say anything, and we had to ask for a fork to eat the poke (which we didn't mind asking). But she gave us attitude, turned around to grab the utensil and handed it to us without saying a word. We waited a little since we wanted to make sure the payment was completed, but she just stared at us and finally said "you're good" when we stood there awkwardly. When we got to the car, we realized the forks she gave were broken and missing some tines. My sunset poke was a little underwhelming for mine. Maybe it was the scoop I got, but the fish had so much tough muscle fibers that I actually had to spit some out since it was so hard to bite through. The sauce was so good though, so it was a bit disappointing from the past memory I had with how buttery the fish was. My husband's shoyu yellowtail was delicious though. It melted in the mouth and really emphasized the sweetness and freshness of the fish. I actually ate it with the sunset sauce, and it paired so well with it too. Overall, the poke is still good and maybe I got a bad scoop, but Tamura's was a lot better in my memories. I would still come back next time I visit but hope for a better experience, since they do have delicious sauce and fish.
