Quite possibly one of the best sandwiches I've ever eaten. The tri tip was absolutely amazing, as was the BLT. This market is an absolute gem.

This place is awesome! It's a small market where you can get the basics for cooking, and what you need around the hous. They have a huge selection of alcoholicand non-alcoholic beverages and carry some local art. They carry locally grown fruit and local grass fed meat. Great one stop shop! ConsThey also have a great deli and Breakfast menu. My husband only eats meat and so they accommodated him by making him a pile of tri-tip with bacon, it he was very happy! I got the tri-tip sandwich and it was amazing! They even make their own bread using local ingredients. The store has a great vibe and outdoor seating, lots of vocal folks hanging out and having a bite while we were there Owners are extremely friendly and seem to be awesome community members (neighborhood folks stopping by and chatting while we were there) looking forward to coming here again. Totally recommend! Lots of free parking.

The sandwiches are SO insanely good. The BLT is legit the best sandwich ever. The fresh bread is what makes it so special. I love extra crispy bacon, and the black pepper aioli on the club was so tasty (and I hate mayo!).

my one year old approves of the musubi ! :))

I love coming here for lunch and dinner everything is delicious & consistent. it is decently priced but i'll pay whatever for local sustainable food and even better to support local family owned businesses. Service is always friendly, knowledgeable & exceptional. definitely stop on the way back if you're going to waipio or in the area in general you will not be disappointed

    Greek vegetarian sandwich, so good!

The sandwich I had here was delicious! The fresh focaccia bread was so good! Would 100% recommend for a quick bite when passing through. Many different local beers as well.

Bacon, Lettuce, Tomatoe (BLT) on fresh baked bread. Very delicious.

Looking for a place to eat before or after the Waipio Valley lookout? Our family recommends the delicious sandwiches from the Honokaa Country Market. Whether there's a line or not, definitely worth the wait! Delicious, generous portions, and really really good! We had the Beef Tri-tip and the BLT. Dec 2023

They opened with beef tartare that ruined me for every other beef tartare I've ever had. The osso buco is legendary. Then came the double cheeseburger... and I need everyone to understand that I don't hand out compliments like ketchup packets. This is, without question, the best burger I've ever eaten. It's so good it makes you want a cigarette afterward--and I don't even smoke. I've come back many times just for that burger because nothing else I've tried on Hawaiʻi Island or Oʻahu comes close. Their tater tots have developed their own fan club, and the little bar with beer, wine, and cocktails makes it dangerously easy to linger. The staff is consistently warm and welcoming. After being away for six weeks because of a family emergency, one of my first stops after returning was this burger. It was still outstanding, but I did notice the beef patty seemed about a third to nearly half thinner than I remembered. At around $20, that's noticeable. I'm hoping it was just an off day because this place has earned enough goodwill for me to give it another shot. Don't overlook the butcher shop itself. The meat quality is miles beyond what you'll find in a grocery store. I bought their ground beef for a ragù alla Bolognese, and it was so spectacular that I went back specifically to buy more for homemade burgers. Bottom line: this is one of the hidden gems of the island. Come for the butcher shop, stay for the burger, and if you leave without wondering whether you should light an imaginary post-burger cigarette, we clearly ordered different meals.

Waimea Butcher Shop is a good place to try them, (it is also a restaurant)! You will be served with warm & friendly service. I found out that I enjoy the taste of fresh grass fed beef, while my family did not. They did not think the meat was fatty or tender enough. This is because grass fed cows are much leaner and don't have their feed come to them. Anyway, I enjoyed my dining experience here and if you're curious, you should definitely come and give it a try! If you're inclined and know how to cook a mean steak, and staying somewhere with a kitchen, grab your supplies here.

When in Hilo, two must stop places are Two Ladies mochi and George's meat market! Back before 9/11…read moreever took place, we would stop at George's with our cooler bag and stock up on prepared meats (oxtail being my favorite) and head back to Oahu. Once 9/11 occurred it made stopping at George's a little more effort so that we could get frozen meat back home without ice. However, George's came up with their absolutely delicious thin beef jerkies and that has been a must buy ever since!! And now, they have the best snacks and energy bars! I've not been able to go lately but a friend of mine was gracious enough to offer to purchase for me and bring it back to me!! I feel ever so lucky to have bags of beef jerky and energy bars in my hands!! Hoping to get to George's myself soon!!

If George's isn't the oldest, original crispy beef jerky, it's certainly one of them. Reading reviews dating back since 2010 referencing their crispy beef chips, they have had many years to perfect their product. And it's true, once you try George's crispy jerky... paper thin, crispy like a chip, deliciously flavored... you won't want any other! There are one or two labels I do enjoy from Oahu still, given the choice... I will choose George's! So happy that Stacey, proprietor of George's, mentioned they can ship. Give them a jingle and get your supply now! So far I have limited my consumption to what I can fit in my suitcase. Traveling friends were laughing when they saw half my suitcase filled with George's crispy beef jerky. After making pre-arrangements with Stacey, my small reunion group was able to taste a number of flavors of crispy jerky. Stacey was so nice and accommodating. It's a good thing as, after gathering a bunch of crispy jerky, energy bars, and other snacks we must have spent about $300. And I will continue to send people over to George's for the most delicious treats and meats. I have tried just about all their flavors. My favorites being the spicy chili pepper and shoyu, their bulgogi Korean bbq, and their sweet char siu flavored crispy jerky. Ohh but wait, they also have really delicious energy bars. And if your lucky enough, grab a container of gummie candies which are kicked up with lemon peel bits. Meats, tender and marinated. ...Whatever your craving, get it at Georges!
