This review is based on the rental facility located at Bali Hai. We rented a Beach Umbrella and 2 Boogie Boards for the week. The Beach Umbrella was a nice Tommy Bahama beach umbrella but super old and flipped out in the winds at Salt Pond Beach. The Boogie Boards were old with flaps falling off that prevented us from catching good waves at Hanalei Bay and Poipu Beach. Make sure to inspect your gear before you leave! I didn't notice the quality of the boards until we were using them and seeing the rolls royce of nice boogie boards flying by us when we were trying to catch waves and going no where. This shop is conveniently located at the hotel and reasonably priced. read more

We rented two snorkel gears from here, very affordable! Discovered this place while we walked around Holy Grail donuts and were on our way to Hanalei bay. They have a bunch of other rentals and stuff to buy too. We got it for a day and had to leave early the day after. Couldn't return it in the evening the same day but they were nice enough to have us drop it early the next morning before they open up their store. I messaged them on the google chat or something , not expecting a reply and I got one! It was very easy to communicate and coordinate the drop off. read more

I went in trying to buy a bikini that wasn't insainly expensive. i ended up buying an 8$ shein bikini for 75$. this is a complete waist of money and an absolute scam. the employee mersades was very rude and informed me AFTER MY PURCHASE that there was no refunds. all i want is my money back as i'm sure they can understand as an 18 year old in hawaii that i didn't have 75$ to throw away. i'm truly disappointed. read more

My friends and I came down to the Hanalei beach and we didn't take any swimwear. We stopped here and the lady was so nice! She was very helpful. I wish I caught her name. The clothing was really cute as well, not very much variety if you're over an XL for swimwear. The tees were adorable, I honestly wanted most of the shirts there lol. Be VERY careful shopping here. A good portion of their clothing they have ordered from Shein (an inexpensive fast fashion company) and then cut off the part of the tag that says Shein to resell it at an insane markup. We purchased a swimsuit here planning on trying it on later. At that point we discovered their deception and decided to return the product. We were then told they had a no return policy. It was not posted anywhere and the cashier did not tell us that. It is on their receipt which obviously you do not receive until after making a purchase. Ultimately we were offered a store credit but how could we trust any of their products after that? read more

LOVED this store, we shopped here TWICE on our visit! Let me tell you, we went to every single store in the area surrounding this one. And the prices at this store, especially their clearance prices FAR surpassed any deal out there! I bought 2 rompers $8 each! Our family visited Princeville in July 2018, found this cute store while we were cruising around town. This store has many variety of items such as adult & kids clothing, some jewelry, swimming suits, swimming gear, beach rental equipment, etc. The shirts we have bought from here have been through many washes, and still hold up a great quality. The staff who helped us was Andrea. She was amazing and very helpful. We left here happily with 5 items. Must check out this store if you are in the area. read more

This store has it all!! When my family and I visited Kauai for the week this was the place we rented all our equipment from. They have surfboards for beginners, boogie boards, snorkel equipment, etc... I even got a couple of really cute bikinis and dresses here too. When renting, the service was curt and down to business, which was fine, and we rented 4 sets of snorkel gear. While we were swimming, one of the snorkels was broken and didn't allow air to come through the tube (which makes it useless). So instead of 4 of us snorkeling together, we had to switch off so the 4th person could use one of ours. While we were out, someone may have accidentally snatched the mesh bag one of the sets came in. When we went back to Hanalei Trading Co, we told them the snorkel wasn't working and the woman shrugged and said, "oh well" and chucked it in a bucket. Then I said that one of the mesh bags was taken, and she said she needed to charge me $15 for the bag. We said that we should be reimbursed for one of the sets of snorkels because it was broken, and she said she would only credit $2 because only the snorkel was defective. But you can't use the other pieces without the snorkel! She got very annoyed with us and rude, and the customer service quickly disappeared. When I looked at other shops, I saw the same mesh bags for less than 10 bucks, so it looks like they made some money off of the fact that someone took our bag. I definitely recommend finding another snorkel gear place, as there are tons of other places to rent, and the staff are rude. read more

Friendly service, but poor quality equipment and experience. We were actually trying to find a different rental store via Google and accidentally ended up renting equipment here. That was a mistake - find a shop whose job is rentals! They rented us a shorter surfboard as beginners and later found out that this is all they rent. We should have done our homework because this is NOT the kind of board you want to learn on! It ruined our day since we were out for over 4 hours and barely able to balance while simply waiting on waves. Doesn't help that we are both tall adults.. The board was also in terrible condition - chunks missing around the edges and the top sheet film peeling off (all others in the rack were like this) which was just the cherry on top. read more

Be very careful renting from this outfit. They misrepresent their rates. When we tried to rent 6 sets of snorkeling gear for a family for thee days... they said they would rent for a week, and would refund the difference if we brought them back in three days. When we took them back the owner said "that's not what I said" essentially calling us liars. Additionally, they were very smug when retuning our gear and said they could charge for rinsing off sand. Ridiculous. I've been a beach person for 55 years, renting gear for guests at all ability levels. Sometimes neophytes forget to rinse their gear. Certainly no surf shop would whine about rinsing rental wetsuits or boards. It is not profesional or customer oriented. Our distinct impression was that we were being treated like dumb tourists. I think many businesses in the area can get away with this because of the dynamics of the local tourist economy is such that most are gone never to return. There are always new tourists to take their place. read more
