This PT location is located in the same parking lot as the Kaiser Permanente office on Hodencamp. There's probably a "Game of Thrones" joke here when someone named street. "HOLD THE CAMP"!! The clinic is really close to the side door and is easily accessible. Once inside the office the waiting area is a little small, but I have never had to wait more than 5-10 minutes before starting a therapy session. The actual facility is pretty large and I have seen them work with more than a dozen patients at the same time. I have worked with Shanna, Adrienne, Heidi, and Alex, at this location and they are all very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. The therapists are gentle and if you are in pain, they are extremely careful not to force anything that may induce injury. They have every type of equipment you could think of to help rehabilitate an upper extremity injury from a finger to a shoulder. They even have the ability to make custom splints and kinesio tape the injury. They will even teach you how to KT tape yourself if you need it. Although they are extremely busy, it is relatively easy to book an appointment with them. The longest I've probably had to wait to get an appointment was about 7-10 days, but they allow you to book out a couple of weeks. Receptionists are very spot on and I have never had any problems with booking. I highly recommend this place if you need PT for you upper extremity. I have used them twice now. Once for carpal tunnel and recently to rehabilitate after tendonitis surgery. Both times they were able to successfully help me recover. The office is clean and well organized. They turned rehab into an experience I would actually look forward to. Everyone is so helpful and you can tell they love what they do. Jenny and Jessica were my two OTs that primarily helped me with tendonitis recovery. Erica their aide was always there to make me feel welcome and make me smile. However I have worked with most of the team (between both treatments) and I highly recommend them all. I can't say enough about them. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed. read more

I needed to have post-hand surgery physical therapy with a CHT (Certified Hand Therapist) and sought treatment at this clinic in Thousand Oaks. I received treatment over several weeks. Overall, I was tremendously pleased with the staff. Everyone there is very friendly and most important, I never felt any of the CHTs were rushing through my treatment to get to the next person. I suffered a mallet injury to my right ring finger and after splinting it myself, contacted my regular physical therapist for a recommendation. I am so glad she referred me to Hand Rehabilitation Specialists. Laurie crafted a custom splint that improved the finger's position, and worked with me to slowly and steadily support tendon healing and introduce movement. She tailored my therapy and at-home exercises each visit based on what my finger was doing, and was totally focused on my specific progress - no cookie-cutter therapy here! I wish I could give HRS 10 stars! I broke both my wrists and was in Physical Therapy (PT), then Occupational Therapy (OT) for year--take a second to image that! I am so grateful I was referred to HRS, Thousand Oaks. Laurie Roundtree, my occupational therapist, is very knowledgeable, and respected by physicians and surgeons. I never would have fully recovered without her. She is dedicated and supportive. There is no question that patient progress is her number one priority. If I was having a certain issue, she came up with a solution. She made me wrist braces, and, without skipping a beat, developed separate treatment plans for my wrists since the fractures were different. This office has the entire package--awesome and friendly staff from the two front receptionists to the account biller to the office manager. (Many times the doctor is good and the front office staff are lacking--not here!) The back office assistants are well trained and work as a team. The medical software is impressive. It sends patients email reminders of the appointment date and time. The OT and assistants use laptops to keep track of patient progress. They have so many different modalities and exercises to help with recovery. The office is located on the first floor AND the windows open allowing fresh air to enter. There is always enough parking next to the building. (No hassling with a parking structure!) I highly recommend HRS to anyone who has a hand, wrist, arm or shoulder issue. I am so impressed with her superior knowledge and ability to modify/change things according to my needs. After a traumatic injury, and surgical repair, to my left index and middle finger, I was referred to the Thousand Oaks office. There I met three very talented, and empathetic physical therapy practitioners. Heidi, Melissa, and Adrienne helped me through a four month rehabilitation effort. I had significant concern as to whether I'd ever regain control of my fingers. After reaching a recovery plateau, I was scheduled for a follow up tenolysis surgery. I left the operating room at 8:00pm, and was welcomed back to start my second round of therapy at 8:30 the next morning. Everything from wound care, to innovative exercise therapies, and instructional materials to continue self-directed therapy at home, were at my disposal. Much thanks to these people for my full recovery. Furthermore, the practice is staffed with friendly, knowledgeable office people, familiar with insurance practices and coordination with your doctor's office. Lastly, there is no wasted time waiting for your therapy session to begin. From the start of your appointment you are greeted by competent technical staff who'll show you to your station, and get your session started.
