My physical therapist was Derrick. He was very friendly and helpful. He worked at my pacing if I having low energy and needed a break or two between exercises. If my muscles weren't being cooperative, he would find something else that would work the muscle group. The aides were great too! Ben, Benji, Erin, and Lauren were great in helping me with resistance bands and the other exercises equipment. They were just nice to have a conversation with too. read more

After multiple surgeries to my right foot I was left with massive swelling in my lower leg and foot. I was working with a physical therapist who was doing his best to reduce the swelling using regular massage techniques. After a few sessions he admitted we weren't making much progress and he suggested I contact Jennifer. At the first visit she took careful measurements of my leg from the knee down to the foot. And then we went through daily treatments that involved stimulating the lymph system and wrapping the lower leg in bandages. After a week my calf circumference was reduced almost 6 inches. Amazing! Even my orthopedic surgeon was astounded. Not only is Jennifer a skilled practitioner but she really cares about her patients and will work hard to get the best possible outcome. I recommend not coming here for mld (manual lymphatic drainage) if you experience pain with lipedema Not only will Jennifer Vonarb try and convince you lipedema is not painful, even though its called the painful fat disease, she will not help you at all unless you get her particular prescribed compression - which she then says i no longer need the compression bad enough to have ordered anyway. So even though its prescribed, and the mld is covered by my insurance, im not getting the treatments - even to learn to do myself. read more

I went in for reoccurring lower back pain. I thought it was just going to be part of life until I found out that it was my SI joint out of alignment as a result of my previous ACL repair. Diagnosis was immediate and we were able to realign my SI joint on the second visit. Now I just party with the staff and work on strengthening my core to promote long term alignment. I would say 10/10 would return but maybe fewer or none would return because their problems would be fixed! :) read more

I first started physical therapy about 6 months ago for lower back pain that I have been experiencing for quite some time and specifically for a rare injury that occurred in May 2023 that I did not seek medical attention for immediately. I felt somewhat hopeless that any improvement was possible. The owner, Jen encouraged me that it was possible to gain mobility back and have less pain daily. She started me off slow with a lot of thought into my treatment for every visit . The entire staff is personable, thoughtful, knowledgeable, effective and considerate. Here I am 6 months later and I would have never thought that I would have this much improvement and feeling SO much better!! Jennifer: I am writing to express my appreciation to you and your organization for helping me recover from my Sciatica and Knee injuries. My Sciatic injury occurred in early 2022 and my Knee injury in August. My best decision was to opt for physical therapy instead of medication or shots. In early 2022, I did get a Cortisone injection to help start my recovery. Rather than getting subsequent injections, I started physical therapy with your organization. Your recommended list of exercises continued to affect my recovery until my knee injury occurred. I returned and obtained additional exercises to assist in my recovery from both injuries. Initially, sleeping was an issue. Also, I missed many golf dates as I worked on getting better. Today, I am pleased to say that I sleep without discomfort and I am playing golf up to 3 times a week. Most importantly, I have avoided taking drugs except for Tylenol on rare occasions. I do wear a knee brace to prevent a reoccurrence of my knee problems. I am convinced that the exercise routine and advice I received from Conejo Valley Physical Therapy provided was the impetus that helped me successfully deal with my injuries. I know that as we age, we are susceptible to injuries. If another injury occurs, I will again turn toward Conejo Valley Physical Therapy for their help. Rick read more

This was a terrible experience. I feel that this place is very dishonest that I got ripped off $128 for seven bandages. After I was handed back the bandages, they told me to bring it the next time I come back. I guess I was under the assumption that they take off the bandages and put new ones on, however, I was wrong. They take them off and put the same ones on which I feel with pretty unsanitary. I left there and went to a medical supply place and they told me that these bandages should've cost me no more than $30. Yes, I was told that Medicare would start paying for the bandages in January . I told my wound care doctor the story and he said that was not true. I talked to another lymphedema therapist and she said they never charge people for bandages. I really feel I was misled and to come and find out that Medicare does pay for bandages. This business needs to be reported for Medicare fraud. I would never recommend this lymphedema specialist as they are very dishonest. read more

Derreck is the driving force behind my therapy. He has a good demeanor, works with compassion and spends quality time working with me. Derreck cares and it makes all the difference in the world. It is a joy seeing him work with young children. I get the feeling he really enjoys people and his occupation. His positive vibes inspire me during a prolonged recovery. And there's Oliver, a wonderful asset! He's a golden retriever therapy dog that is quite sweet and super well behaved. I wish he was there every day. Let me give you slackers a real review, and not the generic 'highly recommended A+' some people (think) is a review. Hahaha. I've had my share of injuries and multiple surgeries over the years. Therefore I've been a patient at many physical therapy establishments. CVPT has been the best I've had treatment at for the following reasons: Staff - Ben and Christian are the two assistants that I've had. Both of these young men are kind and completely professional. They also have a good sense of humor. That's a big plus to me, and I'd imagine most people do appreciate it as well. It makes going through a bit of pain more tolerable. My therapist name is Derek. He is also kind and professional, and easy to talk too. But what takes it over the top for me is the time he spends and his patience. Let's face it..most clients come to PT and dread the actual 'do it yourself' work! Lol. I catch you all cheating..counting 1,2,3,7, 15! Okay, done! You're busted! Yep, so we all look forward to a relaxing message, right? I certainly do! And it seriously helps relax my injured, tight back. Most therapist I've had might give you 5-7 minutes of hands on time. Not even worth laying down for. Derek works on me for at least 12 minutes. And is very dialed in to where my pain is. He is currently working on my lower and mid back. The pressure points he's working on of mine are spot on! And even though I have a lot of chronic pain, I have great relief during and after his treatment. And for me that is so appreciated. I cannot say enough good things about Conejo Valley PT. I have suffered with psoriatic arthritis and Ehlers Danlos Syndrome for 20 years, and am in chronic pain 24 hours a day. I have been to every doctor and tried every remedy, including multiple other physical therapy offices. Jennifer Vonarb and her team are the only ones who have been able to help me, and keep me in alignment, as my ligaments and joints often slip out of place. While my conditions have no known cures currently, Jen understands it is a maintenance thing with me, and focuses on different techniques and strengthening to try and keep me out of pain. LOOK NO FURTHER... I am now 65 and to date have 41 years!!!!! of experience going to COUNTLESS physical therapy centers in Ventura County. Each visit, every single year, an increasingly desperate attempt for decent pain relief in addition to desired self-management GUIDANCE re: having lived MOST of my life in chronic, disabling/life changing, near CONSTANT cervical pain. Due to years of a very physically active lifestyle coupled with expectable injuries, my aging "machine" also suffers from (typical) BAD arthritis now. Working and just basic everyday living have become much harder, and pain, much worse. Years ago I also had epidural steroid injections into my neck which did nothing and those have some associated risk. Considering my years of pain and futile treatments, out of empathy I encourage you to give Conejo Valley Physical Therapy a chance. I have tried every possible conservative solution on my own. OTC analgesic rubs, sprays and pain patches. Pain relievers such as: acetaminophen, naproxen sodium, ibuprofen, aspirin. Physician prescribed muscle relaxers (and even opioids). ALL of the aforementioned oral pain relievers ONLY cover-up pain for very short periods of time, and with sustained use ALL can damage organs. Worst of all is the world's extreme problem with narcotic dependence and overdose. I have been given a useless neck collar, and massages that only give brief relaxation at best. I assure you I have not been compensated, (nor even offered a mere ice cream cone!) for this long-winded review. My results alone are worth my time. Jennifer, the owner, simply has a great knack for hiring. Derek has been my Physical Therapist. He came up with the MOST EFFECTIVE treatment plan I've ever had, and also answered my (many) questions with unwavering patience. I have had severely PAINFUL experiences with spinal manipulation before, and thus went in with very strong words against any "hands on". I did, however, mention that many years ago on only ONE occasion, some sort of traction device did alleviate some pain. Derek's experience made him understand that, and with GREAT (yet gentle) STRENGTH! he gives "suboccipital" and additional non-foreboding manual treatment that provides EXTREME relief. You are also taught injury specific, EASY-to-remember daily exercises to perform at home, and each session ends with other therapies that really WORK to relieve pain. Due to this I ALWAYS left each appointment truly looking forward to the rest of the day. This clinic is busy but unlike most: wonderfully QUIET. You can concentrate and are not rushed, but your time is NOT wasted by unnecessary banter. I've seen people of all ages with various afflictions appear to very comfortable here and treated with great respect and obvious compassion. The receptionists and assistants are warm and welcoming. I just want to let those who are experiencing pain, particularly occipital nerve pain, CVPT is the best place to go. My 11 year old daughter had Derek as the main DPT. He was very patient with her and after 10 weeks of different taught exercises with her to do there and at home. She no longer deals with occipital nerve pain, which also radiated from her neck, back, and caused many headaches. Derek and all the staff are very friendly. Last December I received injuries related to a rear-ending auto accident; the following October I had surgery and was sent by my doctor to the folks at Conejo PT! Honestly, I've been to quite a few physical therapists in my time and have had the range of awful-incredible. I can say 100% that the staff here actually are beyond incredible. My initial appointment was with Jen, and she told me things about my body that I either wasn't aware of, or things that nobody would know unless they were a true expert. Which she is. A "workout" plan was devised and I've been going 2x/week for a month or so and not only does my body feel better (especially after I leave), my spirits are higher. Having Sarah and Gavin as my therapists and Christian's expertise as an aid, I know I am in great hands. My lymphatics were removed by a surgery in 2008 on my right arm and my arm got very swelling, she helped me by wrapping and compression it made it better right away . I never give a rating or do this but being as there is not a lot of talk or referrals for Lymphedema I thought I should as that is what I have and went for. I'm so grateful that Jennifer Vonarb knows all about Lymphedema and is a licensed LMPT that knows what she's doing, extremely professional, and truly cared about me. Because of her I have kept it under control where that is not always the case when people don't get treated or educated on how to maintain it with home care seeing as it's a chronic disease. I have been to several Physical Therapist in Ventura County in the past 15 yrs. Conejo Valley Physical Therapy is the very best I have found. After having Knee Replacement surgery I developed Lymphedema in my leg. It was not diagnosed for months. When I arrived at Conejo Valley P.T. I was received by the most caring and friendly staff. Tessa my Therapist is the most efficient, caring and knowledgeable Therapist I have ever known. After a week and 1/2 of P.T. treatment with Tessa the swelling was gone. I met Jennifer Vonarb today in her Physical therapy clinic. My doctor referred me for neck and shoulder pain. I have a rare disorder known as Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. This affects all of my joints, my skin and my insides. My body doesn't do things the way most PTs expect it to. Jennifer Vonarb is a specialist in treating people with my condition. The happy dance that I am doing cannot be curbed. Having said that, I need to say much more about my first treatment today. She spent time with me, assessing my injury and getting to know my body's reaction to pain. After evaluating me carefully, she began to gently massage and manipulate my neck and shoulders. She aligned me so much that I could already feel less tense. She taped my arm with kinesiotape. I'm feeling so much better now. I am not magically healed, but I have someone who knows how to treat me and is in my corner. To me, that's everything. I have high hopes for the future. Having a practitioner of physical therapy and Kinesiology who understands me and my condition is a bonus that will improve my quality of life greatly. read more
