Tonight we had a small order. Everything was great until my husband found a long black hair in his ice cream. I went to the counter and all I got was "I'm sorry I'll remake a new one" and the girl slammed the window. She then proceeded to hand me the new ice cream and I asked if we could get a bottled water so he can rinse out his mouth. She shut the window and came back a minute later to proceeded to tell me she would have to charge for the water. She asked if a cup of water was okay. We love handles but after this experience we would be hesitant that they were not concerned about the hair but were more worried about the $1 water. read more

Handmade ice cream. Really good, a lot of flavors and options for cones and cups. I will suggest for your first time just order a small weather you get a cone or bowl. It's like 2 1/2 scoops. My favorite hands down is still Monkey business. The location has plenty of parking and it's easy to access. Service has always been timely and everyone is friendly here. This ice cream shop in Garden Oaks is pretty unique in that they offer drive through service and a walk up window. There are picnic type tables out front but you can't physically walk inside the shop. They have many flavors to choose from that aren't normally offered by other chain ice cream shops. You can only get 1 flavor with a small so I opted for a medium to try 2 different flavors. The praline pecan had a good amount of pecan pieces and was oozing with caramel flavor. The mocha almond fudge ripple was a perfect combination of a light coffee flavor mixed with chocolate. The vanilla with Oreo was your typical cookies and cream flavor but had plenty of big cookie chunks. Overall I'm happy to have a drive thru option because it's super convenient when you don't want to get fully dressed to go inside a shop, however it would be nice to have an indoor seating area because ice cream does not stay frozen at all in Houston heat. My cone started melting very quickly and running down my arm and all over the floor so I had to toss or before I could finish to prevent making a bigger mess. I would for sure visit again but maybe only in the drive thru, until summer is over. read more

I got the Cappuccino Chocolate Chip. The small portions are still pretty big there so no need for a bigger size unless there is multiple people. Wow so many flavors of ice cream and generous portions! We stumbled upon this ice cream shop trying to kill some time and it happened to be a place my talks about in Dallas all the time. You walk up to a window to order and they have various cones or you can get ice cream in a cup. We ordered the strawberry ice cream and mango sorbet. Both were huge and really good. We would order them again. Only draw back is it is outdoors, so when it is hot outside it will be awful in the Houston heat. Also, view is of a busy street which isn't so great. I LOVE Handel's! And so do my dogs. I love that it's just a walk up type of ice cream shop with tables outside if you want to stay and eat. They have so many ice cream flavors to choose from, as well as different types of cold treats. I have only ever gotten ice cream scoops, so I can't speak to anything else they serve. Ever since my parents recommended their sampler to m,e that is all I've ever gotten. It is such a good bang for your buck! It's $6 pre-tax and you get 4 flavors of whatever ice cream you'd like. I always mix and match, but here are some of my favorite flavors: 1. Cheesecake with oreo 2. Chocolate Oree-dough 3. Monkey business 4. Mud pie 5. Salty caramel truffle 6. Strawberry cheesecake chunk They also have vegan options. My dogs like coming here as well because they also serve doggy cups. We love Handel's. Without doubt it is the best ice cream in the Spring/Woodlands area. There's a lot they do right to make their ice cream so yummy. First off.. the fat content is probably off the chart. It is super creamy. They also serve it at the perfect temperature. Whether you order it in the dead of summer, or on a chilly day in January, it's always ready to melt off the cone. Our favorite order is "Monkey Business" on top with "Chocolate Peanut Butter Brownie" on bottom. The Monkey business has banana, caramel, and is just ridiculously good. The chocolate speaks for itself. Mix the two and you have heaven in a cone. I love to change things up and have ordered almost everything on their menu. I have never been disappointed. My only complain is the place in Spring doesn't have any indoor seating. The outside is not always clean and it can make it hard to hang out and enjoy the ice cream with friends and family. But this is ice cream. If they sold this stuff in half gallons like Blue Bell I'd fill a freezer with it. read more
