I wanted to go someplace that felt like an icecream spot. I've seen Bruster's a few times driving by the area. It was a Yelp review that made me give it a try. There were so many flavors! All the classic flavors taste like the classic flavors. We were told new flavors get introduced pretty often too. The person helping us was friendly and gave us so many samples to try. It was GREAT. And my little one got a free baby icecream. I don't know if I can ever say anything bad about icecream. This is a solid family friendly spot. I tried the ice cream from Brewsters at the 2026 taste of the town. I absolutely loved it, especially that it was Matcha. Not everyone serves Matcha and most cases is just hard to find an ice cream. I went back to try it at the Brewster's location and I just asked for a simple cone and I got this massive ice cream so worth it in the best thing ever. Not pictured we also got a peanut butter buckeye. That one was really good as well. The staff was super nice and super quick. I have had many ice cream treats from places such as Cold Stone, Marble Slab, Braum's, Sonic, Chick Fila, and other fast-food restaurants, with Dairy Queen being my go-to for any frozen treats. However, Bruster's definitely takes the cake! I never knew that ice cream could taste THIS GOOD! I came here for the first time last week with family and friends and I still think about how amazing the ice cream is and can't wait to go back! My first impression when I came here after looking at the menu was how crazy expensive this place is for just ice cream. I was already regretting coming here instead of Dairy Queen. I even thought that we should have just grabbed a carton of ice cream from a grocery store; even buying a tub of Blue Bell would have been cheaper. HOWEVER, after my initial sample, my taste buds were enlightened and doing the happy dance! YA'LL, it WAS SO GOOD! The cashier who took our order was extremely sweet and patient with all of us because none of us have ever been there, so we had multiple samples. I alone had FOUR samples and every time she was friendly about it and never seemed annoyed with me, which I truly appreciated! I tried the Southern Banana Pudding (she was correct when she said it tasted like Laffy Taffy), Pistachio, White Raspberry Truffle, and Mixed Berry Cheesecake with Graham. I ended up getting two scoops, with one flavor being the Mixed Berry Cheesecake w/ Graham and the other being the White Raspberry Truffle. Both were amazing, with the cheesecake being my favorite of the two. What makes Bruster's top tier? Each bite has REAL ingredients that you can actually taste. The ratio of ice cream to toppings is perfect! The flavors are rich and decadent. You will NOT get the same results from a tub of ice cream from the grocery store, not even from Blue Bell. Also, they have SO many flavors to choose from, with some more unique than others. There will be a flavor for anyone to enjoy. If you're not too hungry, one scoop (which is considered a kid's size) will be enough to satisfy your sweet tooth. When I got the two scoops, it looked rather small in the dish, but after I finished my first scoop, I felt like it would have been enough. However, with the ice cream flavors being as heavenly as they are, you most likely will want at least two scoops. (: Other random things I love about Bruster's include: 1. The plastic cone protection. It's genius! Not only does it protect your hands from being cold, but it also catches any drips. 2. If your child is under a certain height (40 inches??), then they get a free baby cone. 3. Bring your own banana on Thursdays and get 50% off a banana split. I totally want to do this one Thursday! She told me that she apologizes on behalf of the team & she'd have a talk with them after their shift. She then tells me that she HOPES my experience is better the next time. The non-dairy coffee chocolate chip is amazing, but it's not rocket science to deliver decent customer service. I definitely will not be back. There are only 2 homemade ice cream options (Handels & Bruster) so unless you require interior seating, AC, or soft serve ice cream you're down to only two high quality, homemade contenders Between Handel and Brusters: *Brusters IMO produces a slightly more decedent, buttery product (in the best way. Their ice cream is smooth, rich, and always delicious). +1 Brusters *The two offer similar flavor options (and a large selection of generally 30+ flavors) but I find Brusters really embrace the "Ben & Jerry's approach" (ample chunks, ribbons, & mix ins...when appropriate) and Ofcourse you can still find additional flavors without. My find last night was sea salt caramel with toffee balanced atop death by chocolate (pictured below with description). My mother stuck with her ride or die, butter pecan (with large whole pecans). She didn't approve of the banana pudding flavor, but they allow sampling, so try it for yourself. *Their drive thru is appreciated (Handels only offers a walk up counter) *Their staff is always friendly, personable & patient (same with Handels) *Their rewards program is great. They hold community events- one of which is banana Thursday's (dedicated to byob (bring your own banana) banana splits). They also offer theme days, senior discounts & Ofcourse you can earn free ice cream. Point goes to Brusters *You wouldn't expect it from such a small shop but they offer a variety of product. Cake, blasts, shakes, drinks, no sugar added- fat free options, yogurt, sherbet, ice, ice cream sandwiches, non-dairy, pints, gallons, brownies & kid friendly options & creations (cotton candy explosion is a regular flavor). (Handels offers a similar variety but also offers dipped cones, a 4 scoop sampler & Handel Pops so they're equally matched in this category) * They offer free doggie sundaes for your pup Pro Tip: Although the staples remain consistent, Brusters flavor offerings change daily & their seasonal offerings change seasonally. This was huge disappointment for my wife and I. My kids LOVED it. I was excited because of the awesome reviews and high stars. It's a drive-thru or walk up to the window option. There are some tables outside, but it was warm enough we opted to sit in my truck to eat. Very friendly customer service. They will let you try some flavors. My youngest and I got the Chocolate Brownie Fudge. A small is 2 scoops, regular is 3 scoops, and a large is 4 scoops. There are a LOT of flavors, and any can also be made into shakes. It was also a nice touch to get a catch cup (I doubt it's really called that) that goes over the cone so if any drips it will catch it. I forgot to take pics (sorry). However, when I was charged $7.34 for one scoop and topping and then they handed me an iPad with four tip amounts and said,"you need to do this before the charge will go through."
