I had gone to urgent care, worn a heart monitor, done EKGs, blood tests, and had multiple follow-ups with doctors. Everything came back "normal." And while that should have been reassuring, deep down, I knew something wasn't right. I had pain, random heart rate spikes even while resting, and an overwhelming sense that something was off in my body. Still, the doctors told me, "You're fine." And honestly? I started to doubt myself. It got to the point where I thought, "Do I have to wait for this to get worse before anyone believes me?" I was starting to feel helpless. I even had nights where I wondered, What if I go to sleep and don't wake up? Out of desperation, I turned to holistic healing. I'd heard of reiki before but had never seriously considered it. But this time, I felt like I had no other choice. I found Kazumi through Peaceful Body Healing, and while browsing her services, I came across something called "BodyTalk." I had never heard of it before, but something about the way it was described felt right. So I booked a session. My first BodyTalk session with Kazumi was on November 28, 2024. I laid on the table, she held my hand and began tapping, and soon started asking me questions based on what she was picking up intuitively from my body. Then in March -- after completing her Reiki I course -- my stress levels were in the green, the best they'd ever been. Seeing this shift both felt real and was backed by actual data. I knew it was all the pain of loss just building inside of me. I went to her website and was able to easily schedule and pay for the session. I opted for a 90-minute bereavement session. Her service is provided in her own home, and there was plenty of street parking. I am not sure if there was an elevator, but I needed to take stairs to reach her place, and once I arrived, I was warmly welcomed by Jess and her gorgeous cat. I didn't know what to expect as this was the first time I ever got a bereavement massage and my first time meeting Jess, but I am so glad I went. Jess was so kind and gentle with me in even just getting to know me, giving me a vibe that I could open up about my loss and just really sit in my grief with her. After chatting for a few minutes, she stepped out of the room, and I disrobed to my comfort level and laid on the warm platform that was so comfy and cozy!
