She always asks and listens to what I say are the current problem spots, but she is also amazing at discovering those on her own. Yesterday, for the second time, I was having lower back issues. I'm really sensitive there and have often had trouble with massage around my sacrum. But yet again, Kaelyn was gentle enough that it didn't sting but firm enough that I feel so much better today. John is intuitive. His body work includes checking my energy levels, range of motion and emotional state. Mine was a mess. NOt knowing what to expect but open to anything, I sure learned a thing or two! He moved my arm only to find that one was more stiff than the other and it was connecting parts that were ailing me. He pressed on points counted to 5 and I had no idea held so much pain! then the pain was gone and movement was greater! He worked the front and back of my body. My session was about an hour ( I think) When we were done, I got up from the table and realized the stiffness in my neck and shoulders was gone. The mobility in my arm was way better than when I came in. So in closing. GO SEE THIS MAN!!! He is kind funny and knows what the helllz he is doing!

I pulled a muscle in my leg at another time and was unable to sit properly on my heals. Within a couple of sessions he fixed that issue as well. My dad was a Ukrainian dancer and injured himself and was unable to lift his knee to his chest and John fixed that in one session. My friend couldn't get pregnant and after a few sessions with him... well she's a Mom! He has so many "modalities". It's so fun because you never know what he's going to use to help you with your issue! And it always works! HOWEVER, once I got assigned my masseuse she tells me to prepay which I have no problem doing and she tells me $70 in which then I said you know what never mind in which they all quickly said $60 is fine all of a sudden. Needless to say I started to get irate but decided to go ahead with it anyway, massage in general was 6-7/10 so I kinda let it all go and prepared a $20 tip for the masseuse that literally just tried to scam me and she had the audacity to stop me in my tracks and say "$20 that's it?!" And continued to shame me and asked me to tip her more via card as I had no more cash in which I refused. This is NOT how you treat a paying customer who is willingly tipping a decent amount for a mid grade Thai massage. This is not massage envy or Brooke Williams in which the masseuses there would have probably been content with a $20 tip. I don't care how much they get paid nor is it my responsibility to pay their wages if they're not getting paid enough. $60 base ans $20 tip is more than sufficient for the service provided. If you're going to be paying 90-100$ for a massage, do yourself a favor and go to a legit massage spot like Massage Envy and get your moneys worth in service & customer service as well. My massage was completely useless as I was overcame with anger and became more irritated than when I had walked in.

Once you have your stuff, you got the locker room (shoes off) to get changed~ you can either go for the pools and the wet saunas etc or go upstairs on the shirt/shorts to enjoy the heated rooms. I hit the second floor first and spent a good 30 minutes relaxing and sweating it out. There are three heated rooms and one cold room. After that, I headed downstairs to enjoy a good rinse before heading into the heated pool. There was only one heated pool and one cool pool. There were plenty of areas to sit and bathe or stand and shower. This is also the area you can book services for body scrubs etc. there are also a couple of saunas in this area. The pool shower areas also have plastic baskets to hold your stuff, as well as complimentary toothbrushes, toothpaste, and razors. Each shower or bathing section also has complimentary shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. The locker room has lockers where you can store your stuff with your assigned locker number. There are also areas to get read with hair dryers and qtips and lotion. Overall, a lovely experience and hope to come back.

In 2010, I enrolled at HOHI to receive additional training when I was working at a spa. As soon as I'd completed around 75 additional class hours at HOHI , my rebooking and special request rate surpassed that of all my coworkers -- many of whom had completed programs totaling over 900 hours at some of the career colleges, and were in deep financial debt due to student loans! So many of the other schools in town will require you to enroll in and charge you for classes which teach techniques that clients never ask for. Those schools are a waste of both your time and money. If you want a successful career as a Massage Therapist and you want to learn to do the type of work that's in demand and develops a loyal following, HOHI will give you that. If you want a strong foundation now, but want to choose modalities to specialize in later; then HOHI is still the best choice. The instructors are amazing and encourage you to pursue life long learning in the field of body work, beyond the walls of the school. As a matter of fact, many of my instructors continue to take classes at Continuing Education workshops in Los Angeles or they travel to other cities to learn new techniques.
