Once greeted you'll be evaluated by Ken, who I found to be informative, kind, and respectful, he wanted to hear and actually listened to my concerns regarding my pain and trouble areas. I have been to several physical therapy facilities in the past 41 year hoping to feel a little better then what brought me to a physical therapist in the first place, just to walk away after 8 visits wondering why I bothered at all. I was 22 when I was injured, a sever slip and fall. The plan was, back surgery then place me in a wheelchair. I was hoping for a better resolution, with none offered at the time (80's) I decided to do this as best as I could on my own until I wasn't able to anymore. I have had two cervical spine surgery's to cage the vertebrae in the neck one in 2010 and again in 2012. It's my belief that it was those two surgeries that kick started the many and basically useless PT secessions I've experienced in the past. I kinda gave up trying to express how I was feeling or my pain as it wasn't being addressed or I was told it's all in my head. I had a scare the end of 2024. I had to go to the ER as I couldn't even stand on my own, my back hurt so bad I thought I'd be put in that wheelchair for sure this time. The surgeon came to the hospital room to talk to me about my options, 1. Was to have back surgery the 2nd she said would be very hard at my age to do as it would require a lot of physical effort on my part and she wasn't sure I was up for the fight. Guess which option I took?? In my opinion, HealthQuest physical therapy is #1 hands down, not only will you leave there better and feeling more yourself, but the knowledge and education you receive while working your program, is priceless. I believe after all the hard work you and your HQPT therapist do to solve the reasons you initially came in for, you may find yourself needing a physical therapist less in your future due to being taught how to keep yourself Mobil with more flexibility. These pain management clinics generally are anesthesiologists specializing in neutralizing part of the nervous system for pain relief by inserting large needles near the spine, under X-rays, temporarily eliminating pain junction boxes through burning nerve clusters. Dr. Best oversees my treatment like a QB of my treatment plan. He is excellent at understanding the interrelatedness of all other treatment areas. Like any great quarterback, he is exceptional at reading defenses and knowing when to call an audible. He is well-versed in changes by keeping current in his practice area and specialties affecting his patients. He should be entered into the "Hall of Fame" for medical doctors!

I have been going to Excel for the past 10 months due to double knee surgery that resulted in a host of complications. The Therapists, Trainers and staff are the best of the best in Oakland County. Physical Therapy is about YOU wanting to get better, no therapist can do it for you. I have been working out all my life and they showed me exercises and stabilization techniques that I'd never seen or read before. During my therapy routine, I've never had a problem getting advice on proper form or technique and I'm always given personal assistance when needed. One of the therapists there is widely known among the Michigan Orthopedic Surgeon community. He brought kettle-bell and cross-fit training into the therapy arena before it was the "fashionable" workout fad. And they have treated several professional and amateur athletes, some even come just to train and improve (non medical related). If you want Physical Therapy in a comfortable, friendly environment, then this is the place to go. If you want someone to wave a magic wand and make you all better, find a magician or a clown.
