George (technician) arrived timely and was very thorough. He explained things to me every step of the way. He is approaching this very methodically - ok, so it's not the igniter, let's look at the next link in the chain... I saw George called out by name in other Yelp reviews, and I understand why he comes so highly recommended! He called the manufacturer to discuss his findings, but the manufacturer tech team wasn't available. He let me know he would be calling them again in the morning and that he would reach out to me with an update. I've had plenty of negative or so-so experiences with other service technicians from other companies. This experience with George / Astera is so positive that I'm posting my review even before the service is completed. Fast forward three weeks, and the system completely shut down again. When they returned, instead of properly diagnosing the issue, they immediately pushed us to buy a whole new unit. They also wanted to cut into the drywall and made it clear that any damage caused wouldn't be their responsibility -- even though the setup had worked perfectly for over 25 years. Thankfully, we got a second opinion. That technician immediately noticed that the previous tech had left multiple components disconnected and hadn't even reassembled the system properly. The second company was able to fix the issue quickly and at a fraction of the cost -- no drywall cutting, no upsell, just competent service. This was a completely unprofessional and disappointing experience. I would not recommend this company to anyone looking for honest, reliable HVAC work.
