We are a repeat customer very happy with the work we had done last fall. You will see a 5 star rating from us on the previous work in October, 2019. At the time, we broke down the project into to two (front and back). It's now time to complete the project. In March 2020, we shifted our attention to the side and back of our home. We live on a small lake and so we enjoy spending the majority of our time relaxing outdoors and lakeside. The new landscape lighting provides such a beautiful accent as well as great security too. It should be noted that this was all happening as the Pandemic was spreading in March and done before the apex in late April. I raise the point because Mike was very open in exercising great care and safety as a priority. We did a walkthrough with Mike and had some ideas of what we wanted. In the end, we relied on Mike for his special talent of incorporating our ideas with unique fixtures and just the right placement to pull it all off and more. We would be remiss if we didn't recognize the installation team. They were certainly here when they said they would be. Even more so, the quality of the work, neatness, cleanup and friendliness were all top notch. You can easily see that they take pride in whet they do. They didn't completely finish in one day so they returned the next day to finalize the work. In the end, it all looks great and we couldn't be happier that Artistic Outdoor Lighting are our go-to people. BTW, you can tell by all the other high ratings that they are the best of the best. First and foremost, what makes Mike and the team so much better is they are articulate when it comes to a lighting design plan. Obviously, most will need consider landscape plantings and trees. But they go beyond the basics when considering placement such as what elements on house should be lit and what shouldn't. They understand the shadow effect of lighting and in the end work to create a balance in the design. When lighting a house, many others use obtrusive fixtures hanging from the peak. In contrast, Mike planned for mini fixtures affixed to the gutter that you don't see but nicely light upwards to the peak instead of down for a softer, subtle more elegant look. When installing they take such great care in what they do. They are neat, orderly and take pride in what they do as if it were their own. We contacted three companies seeking ideas/proposals for installing lights in our newly installed pergola. Owner Mike Potucek came out to provide his recommendations. Mike is clearly very knowledgeable about outdoor lighting and is passionate about his work. Mike provided his recommendation to install 9 low voltage LED solid brass light fixtures with stainless steel transformer. Mike noted he could place our existing lights which illuminate our trees and patio bricks into the new transformer. The lights automatically come on at dusk and turn off at the time of our choice. Mike and his team of two arrived on the agreed upon date and, as predicted, they had the lights installed in about 3 hours. The team took the time to hide the wires as much as possible and space the lights to provide appropriate coverage. Mike and his team went over the operation of the system and ensure all of our questions were answered. The work area was cleaned up and the table/chairs restored to their pre-installation location. The lights themselves are impressive and add a very good ambiance to the pergola/yard. The lights only illuminate the intended area and do not overwhelm the rest of our yard. We were so impressed with the experience that we asked Mike for an estimate for installing lights on the front of our house. Our overall experience was very positive-from Mike, to Kim in the office who responded to e-mail questions quickly and completely to the crew who assisted Mike. I know there is only one other Yelp review, but we had the complete opposite experience with Mike. He met us at our house, was totoally upfront with the pricing, his service, how he operates and then walked the yard giving us great suggestions. He was very busy but was able to make it out to our house within a couple of weeks and his crew of two guys did an incredible job. Not only did they dig and hide all wires, they were great guys who made suggestions and were patient and dilliegent. After the install, I realized there was a mis-communication about another light on a tree. I felt bad calling Mike and having him come all the way back out to Highland park, but a couple of days later, his guys came back out and added the light. We lit out front and back yard as well as had lights installed on pergola and patio. All in all, I could not be more happy with the service and end result.
