I also purchased a new bathroom vanity and he replaced it and snaked my drain that had been slow draining for a while. He came to our home on 10/31 and was friendly, however, we never received an estimate and didn't hear from him again.

There used to be three constants in this world. Death, taxes and the inability to find a reliable handyman. Well, you can now cross off that last one because Carlos and Handy Right are absolutely wonderful to work with. We've been in handyman hell for the past few months. Finding someone who will even give you a decent bid has been a pain. Getting someone to show up when you actually needed them was damn near impossible. Well, we lucked out with Handy Right. Carlos was quick to provide a reasonable bid and he also showed up when he said he would. I've had handymen give us a time window and then not show up. Carlos arrived promptly both times (for the estimate and the work). We reached out for a bid on a Friday, he showed up on a Saturday for the estimate. We got the materials that day and he came the next day for the work. Talk about a great turn-around time! For those who are sensitive about COVID restrictions, he came masked and since we were all vaccinated we allowed him to work without a mask since it can get hot. He was very respectful in that degree. He was also very honest. If there's something he doesn't feel he can do, he'll tell you straight up. Carlos is a straight shooter and there's nothing I love more than that when doing business with someone. How about options? Carlos provided us with the options to pick out the materials ourselves to save money or he can get everything to save time. When we ran into a snag during part of our project (something neither of us anticipated), he also provided options with the customer and their cost in mind. These options saved us money and saved him time, a total win-win. How about the work? We had two fluorescent fixtures that we replaced with LED units. His work was immaculate and the fixtures look great. He replaced a showerhead and it looks perfect and flows great. We had two ceiling fans that were installed improperly and Carlos fixed them. Carlos is a plumber by trade, but can do much more (electrical, painting, drywall, yard maintenance). I wish I would have known he had plumbing experience before because we literally called out a plumber for another job right before he came. He likely would've saved us money had we used him for that too. What's the price? Handy Right was extremely fair and the work was great. I feel like for the work we had done we would've likely paid more with another handyman and I'm not sure the work would've been as good. Carlos is meticulous and that's a good thing when someone is doing work on your home. If you're stuck in handyman hell like we were, give Carlos and Handy Right a call. You just may end up in heaven instead. They are a relatively new business and I can respect someone going after their dreams. As long as he keeps doing great work, treating the customers with respect and sticking to his word, he'll have a lifelong customer in me. Let me start off with, Carlos is my go to handyman from now on!! If I could give him 10 stars I would!! From the moment Carlos came over to take a look at the work for the bid/estimate to the moment he was leaving after the job he was professional. I needed a couple of projects inside the home to be done. There was an old fireplace that had a corner of the second living room for itself. The fireplace corner had a tile stand that was built on the floor and tile on the wall around it. Personally, it took a good part of the second living room and had to go. And there was an unnecessary door in the back bedroom that was letting in heat. The back bedroom door leading to the backyard made no sense to me. It was an extra door that allowed anyone inside of the house, letting in heat and unnecessary. I put a request on Yelp actually, had a few other handymen give me a bid/estimate and Carlos got the job! The day I scheduled Carlos to come have a look at the job I wasn't home. I told him that I wouldn't be home but that my husband and mother-in-law would be and to please pass on the information then. I wanted to let him know the situation and not surprise him. My husband and mother-in-law were very impressed with him and did not spare any details of the interaction they had with him when I got home from work. They said that Carlos was a very nice down-to-earth person that was reasonable. My mother-in-law said Carlos was very fair in the big/estimate and that he found ways to save money on the job without cutting corners (my father-in-law was a jack of all trades and did handyman/construction work a lot). If some of the work didn't have to be done but still met code and pricing then it would be an option. Carlos would give you the option of which route you wanted. My mother-in-law told me that Carlos would be the handyman we should go with. Not only based on his interaction with her but also the interactions she has had with the other handymen that gave bids/estimates for the same project. After hearing the experience my husband and mother-in-law had with Carlos, I was sold. I told him that night that I would like him to have the job and to let me know his availability. He was quick with a response and we scheduled a few days later. The two projects that Carlos completed was done with so much care and professionalism. The unnecessary door in the bedroom that was removed and made into a wall and the unwanted fireplace in the second living room. After taking the job and starting the process Carlos had noticed that the area surrounding the fireplace wasn't the material he originally thought. He said that if he had noticed it was actual tile and not linoleum like he thought, his bid would have been more. However, since the mistake was his and no one else's, he took the loss and kept his price and bid the same! You have no idea what a relief that was to hear that. It seems like these days when I receive an offer or bid, even after the work has been accepted and the bid or offer has been confirmed, the person I offered the job to would change the price. It is very frustrating. However, not with Carlos! Anywho, the door was removed and a wall was built and the old fashioned fireplace in the second living room was removed. Carlos and his assistant both did such a great job! Also, the cherry on top was when Carlos took the dead bolt lock and door knob from the unnecessary door that was removed from the bedroom and put it on the front door screen of the house since there wasn't any to begin with. As I originally said, Carlos is my go to handyman from now on! You wont be disappointed with his work or him! He's a very down to earth honest guy that is professional and does great work! Very unreliable. Promises to come but doesn't show up twice for just the initial appointment. He needs a dispatcher to answer calls and remind him of future appointments. Or maybe he's very selective and chooses the task he wants to work on. JMHO. read more

I highly recommend Handy Right. I had contacted several others and they didn't show up. I needed a gate built to look like the old one, and replace fence boards. Carlos responded quickly to give me an estimate, and asked why I needed to replace the fence boards, as they were perfectly ok. I had been told by the others who didn't show up that I needed to replace them. Carlos advised me that the fence didn't need to be replace unless I just wanted them to be. Wow!!! Handy Right did a great job fixing a broken kitchen drain pipe that was leaking outside. The water had damaged the inside cabinets under the sink and some interior and exterior walls. Carlos was able to complete the whole job at an affordable price. Very happy with the job done. Thanks Carlos. Handy Right did such a great job on my first repair project I called him again to replace a cracked shower pan that had caused water damage to my downstair ceiling. Handy Right removed the old shower and replaced it with a new shower, shower pan and plumbing and drywall. We love our new shower. Thanks Carlos and Jose. I don't know where to begin. I called Carlos one day to get an estimate on a cabinet repair. He was like the fourth call I had made trying to get this cabinet repaired. He came and assured me he could do the job as well as three other projects. I had my doubts but he delivered on everything he promised as well as stayed around and helped his wife Rosie do an outstanding cleaning job on my house. They are a great team! While helping her I ran into two additional jobs and he jumped in and did them. I have since hired Carlos for a problem my daughter had in her apartment. He always delivers.
