Our HOA has a very nice entry that's some 30+ years old with nice lighting. Unfortunately, the lighting was failing and had obsolete fixtures and other associated problems. We originally had a time-and-materials proposal from Handyman that could vary anywhere from about $2,100 to $3,400 which was within our budget. Robert came in and suggested he just give us a fixed price (with better fixtures) so there's no confusion. We were fine with that and were pleasantly surprised when his fixed price was at the very low end of the spread we expected. Stellar service from Robert and Nathan. We needed a whole new panel upgrade in our 1962 house. In today's life with so much more plugged in it just made sense. We contacted this business for a bid on installing power to a separate building. After meeting the electrician and reading reviews, we hired them. Good job and reasonable cost. A few months after work done, we lost power to lights and some plugs. We called and was told could be warranty issue and got scheduled. We waited over 2 hrs, the electrician never showed or called. Called Handyman and we got re-scheduled. The electrician showed up the 2nd time and after about one hour determined that the problem was not due to faulty workmanship or warranty. He then said we would be billed for $300! This was the FIRST TIME we were told that there may be a charge. Yeah, I should have asked before guy showed up.."what if wasn't warranty". But they also should have said the same to us. And we talked twice on the phone BEFORE electrician showed, and twice they never informed us of possible charge and the amount. Also, we didn't receive an invoice till about 3 weeks after the fact. One star for communication. read more

They were able to fit me in right away. From the time the electrician arrived (on time), he was a consummate professional. He was considerate to bring booties so he didn't track any snow through the house. He also patiently listened to our requests and wrote up an estimate quickly. Their pricing was very reasonable and was explained in good detail. He was friendly, an excellent communicator and got to work right away. He went through our list in the order we agreed upon. The work was very good quality as it was functional, looked great and he cleaned up after himself. Overall an excellent experience and will be our go to electrician. read more

I hired Handyman Electric to install an outlet for a sauna. Robert came out and gave me an "estimate." It was $1188.00. When I called to schedule I was told it would take "all day." I said that was surprising because the new outlet and electrical box were about 10 feet away from each other and the wiring just had to pass above a drop ceiling. However, I was told the Robert told his scheduler to "book out a full day." The electrician who came to do the work was professional and completed the project in 2 hours and 45 minutes. Forty five of those minutes were his set up and take down. I got the bill later that day and the total was $1376.00. I spoke to Robert personally saying that the job took less than three hours so why was the cost so high. He said that they only do "fixed bids" and that "it says this on our website. On the bid I was given, it said the word "estimate" three different times. He went on to tell me they get to houses and the wires, "are like a bunch of worms in the wall" and that the electrician that came for my job was "the most efficient" and that's why it took less time. I don't have issue with the work that was done but the cost was VERY unreasonable. In addition, they have a list of "Service Terms and Conditions" that include no warranty on their work. I will not hire them again based on how they handled their billing. I believe they charge people based on what they believe that person can afford and not based on the actual work completed. read more

We were having a new hot tub delivered and needed the electrical hooked up. Reached out to Handyman Electric and Tracy was very professional and got us on the schedule quickly. Robert came and gave us a quote and we agreed on the service. Nathan was the electrician who performed The main work which involved digging a trench to bury the wires from the breaker box to the hot tub location. If you know how rocky the ground is around here you'll understand how big of a job that was! Nathan spent several hours digging and installing the new lines. Nathan was very polite, professional and kept me informed of progress. He left the area as neat as could be given the excavation. Robert came back after the hot tub was delivered to hook it up. Robert is a nice guy. He came out to the house, and offered some advice. We talked about the price for some electrical work. His office called to schedule the work. We set up a date and time when he would be at my house. The day before they called to reschedule, which we did. I had to stay home from work to meet him at my house. An hour before Robert is due to show up at my house for the rescheduled appointment, he calls and says he is not coming by. The home has been remodeled, and it's going to be a lot of work to figure out the problem. I guess if you have a simple job, and a home that hasn't been professionally remodeled, he may show up. I had Handyman Electric provide a bid on some work for a rental unit. Handyman stated that they could do the work cheaper than any electrical bid if they charged by the hour. I hired them to do the work. The workers were pleasant and completed the job as expected. When I got the bill it was three times higher that the bid I got from another electrical contractor. When I Handyman Electric that their bill was much higher than the other bid they called me a liar. When I showed them the bid and they verified it was a legit bid, they said that the contractor had lowballed the bid because he was new and wanted the job. Robert called me and was extremely rude and threatening. After Robert hung up another employed called me and offered to modestly reduce the bill. Based on my experience with Handyman Electric, I believe they were misleading and deceptive about their pricing and Robert's interaction with me was the worst customer service I have ever received in my life. Just had the pleasure of meeting Robert today of handyman electric! Reaching out to our Spokane network, very few had a good electrician referral. Well that has now changed! Robert, who owns, operates and even answers the phone came out today to take care of some unfinished electrical work on our house. He was on time, professional, very courteous and clean. He went over the jobs and gave a fair quote of work after he heard the issues we were having. Even though some became a little more extensive than planned, he had that factored in his initial bid. We made sure we agreed on cost of work and materials for each job before he proceeded. Very fair and reasonable. Fixed three different issues that I had been troubleshooting for months and even took care of our surround sound, which was not even his specialty. On the way out I had him check out a faulty garage door opener and he fixed some sensor connections mid conversation as if he was tying his shoes. Awesome! All in all, very satisfied with the results of all completed jobs, great attitude and honest. Took a little longer than planned, but wasn't charging by the hour so not a big deal. We asked him to give us a quote to fix an electrical problem. He gave us his opinion on what needed to be done which was a troubleshoot as well as changing all the breaker switches. We told him that, although we knew that needed to be done, we would do that ourselves and that we wanted him to only do the troubleshoot. When he came he did the work we asked him NOT to do. When we confronted him about it he became agitated and rude to my brother-in-law and proceeded to call him a liar and a cheat before he left without doing the work he said he would do.
