Haven't been here in years, still feels the same as last time and that's not a bad thing!…read more Took Mom to Kahului Ale House for a late lunch one afternoon and who knew how many folks drink at like 1 PM HA! But we were there to eat and not necessarily have Pau Hana time, I will say though some of those draft on tap sound excellent! Ended up ordering: -Ale Battered Onion Rings ($15.75) -Turkey Club ($22.50) -Beef & Pork Burger ($22.99) -Wedge Salad ($16.75) Those Ale Battered Onion Rings hit the app spot! Beer-battered in house and come with chipotle mayo dipping sauce, fried & light, not overly greasy, good with them using sweet Maui onions! Brother wasn't too hungry, so he ended up getting a Wedge Salad (LOL) but with extra bacon. Looked good too! Mom & wifey shared the Turkey Club - that was a BIG @$$ sandwich! Roast turkey breast with Applewood smoked bacon, mayo, lettuce and tomato between 3 slices of thick rye bread! Buggah was stacked! They both liked it, lean turkey with the fatty bacon, and the texture contrast of the fresh veggies made it tasty! My Beef & Pork Burger was a test to my cholesterol levels LOL! Near 1/2 pound burger made with ground chuck, cooked medium rare and topped with a pile of house roasted Kalua pork, lettuce, tomato, onion, crispy fried onions and BBQ sauce...was indeed a tower of a burger! Was pretty damn ono too! Burger got good char from the grill, and the kalua pork was flavorful and not dry at all. This burger didn't need a slice of cheese at all! Delicious! Maybe on our next time to Ale House we'll actually get some beers! Their daily Happy Hour specials sure are tempting!

Plenty of seating, televisions on all the walls and great bar seating. The veggie burger and fries were good. Portion sizes were great. Pricing was standard for Maui. I would definitely go back.

I'm glad we listened. We sat at the bar for quick service. The service was fast and super friendly. I ordered the Smash Burger with bacon and an order of garlic fries. Everything is a la carte so if you want fries, just know they do not come with the burger. Everything was delicious. The Smash Burger was perfectly cooked, seasoned wonderfully, and so juicy! The burger also had some spice to it! It had some pickled jalapenos on it and they added the perfect heat. I loved it. The garlic fries were perfectly fried and crispy and had a great garlic flavor and kick. I will definitely come back here on my next visit to island.

There is a large outdoor eating space (patio), which is always a plus. The vibe gives off, everybody's welcome to stop in for a meal and a drink or two. Lucky for us, there was live music. This guy hit every note the right way and let me applaud him for his electric guitar. I thought Prince had entered the room when he played and sang Purple Rain. I'm sorry sir, but I didn't get your name....but you were great!!! Your pets are welcomed here, so it seems. Nice touch. Ok, ok, the food was great! There is a small plate menu. Everything looked delicious. I must say being a Southerner and ordering Mac n cheese at a bar seemed off, but let me tell you...that Mac n cheese hit!!! Cheesy with a little smoked flavor was perfect!! The baked spinach dip was also very good. Great margaritas, good customer service, comfortable seating and great music makes for a perfect evening.

We ordered the misoyaki butterfish, hamachi sashimi, garlic noodles, caesar broccolini, crispy chicken and garlic fried rice...it was gone, so delicious that we decided this will be our dining spot on our future trips to Maui. Piikea's recommendations was on point, every dish full of flavor and so satisfying. We'll be back

Food: We ordered the honey walnut shrimp, miso butterfish, garlic furikake fries, hamachi sashimi, garlic noodles, and crispy chicken. My favorite was the hamachi sashimi. What I enjoyed about this dish was the diced maui onion that offset the citrus from the ponzu. The flavors are light, and refreshing. The most disappointing was the crispy chicken. I thought it was too salty, but that's my preference and salt tolerance. The miso butterfish was also a great dish. The fish was buttery and flavored well. Not too saucy but the perfect amount of sauce. Service: Service is friendly, like most of the restaurants on Maui. The food was served in a timely manner. The ambiance is casual and felt like a bar restaurant. Overall, I'm not sure if I would return. After ordering 6-7 dishes, I wanted to be blown away by at least 4-5 of them, but that wasn't the case. Do yourself a service and try it out at least once if you are curious!

Guava Tree Bar & Grill had amazing local-style food at reasonable prices and pleasant service. I can see this place becoming a solid, local establishment like Tiffanyʻs or Marcoʻs. Folks, this place should be party of the ʻServing Maui for 30 yearsʻ club! I was here for a private event. The place is cute. Small, charming and loads of potential. The staff was super friendly and welcoming. Alrhough their wine selection was limited and a bit uneven (Sutter Home but then a J. Lohr for chardonnay), their ginger ale selection was delicious! The food was incredible! Tender, fall apart pork slices, covered with savory, brown gravy; crisp, yet juicy, chicken katsu with a bite of ginger; toothsome chopped steak, tender mushrooms and flavorful pepper slices. Perfectly cooked rice. Yummmmmmm. The mac salad is better than many, but lacked a little tang. Overall, the food was so good that I looked up their hours. Iʻd definitely return.
