    Food & Beverage Menu 1/2 - March 2020 - VN

One of my friends always mentioned a bar named 'Poni' that she frequents. Not being a fan of typical Korean bars where a $20 drink buys you company, I was happy to know that Poni isn't that kind of establishment. ATMOSPHERE: Poni is located in the same row of businesses in Puuone Plaza that includes Tokyo Tei and M Sushi. The bar is split into two rooms though the lower room is more of a storage area and where the women's restroom is located. Décor is minimal and the place was clean. Seating styles include bar top, high tops, low tops and picnic-style tables. Color-changing LED rope lights span the ceiling which gives the place a dreamscape-like ambiance in hues of pink, blue and purple, so pictures will come out horribly (see my menu pics). TV's line the bar and pay-for karaoke is available ($1 per song or $2 if no one claps, according to the sign, LOL). There were just four others there on a Friday night around 7pm, with a few souls trickling in thereafter. Reggae tunes played overhead. MENU: Full bar along with a small menu of Asian-influenced bar apps, local fare like saimin, spam and egg sandwich, and oyster shooters. EXPERIENCE: My gang and I were going to attend a funeral nearby so we decided to pop in and have just one drink. Our two chardonnays and one beer came out to $18 and change. Paying via credit card would result in the fee being passed onto us (75-cents for this particular amount). Conversing was easy as the music was at the perfect level. The bar was nice and cool inside. SERVICE: Greeting was immediate and very friendly. We were a party of just three so the server broke down an 8-topper in half for us. Drink service was lightning quick as the place wasn't very busy at 7pm. OVERALL: Chill vibe, great service. I'd return!

Great vibes! Delicious drinks. Wonderful bartenders and servers. Karaoke too! For seating inside, there are a couple of stand up tables, a couple of booths, and a few tables for small groups plus the bar seating :) Awesome place and can't wait to come back already! Find Poni near Tokyo Tei. Plenty free parking in the area.

I'm glad we listened. We sat at the bar for quick service. The service was fast and super friendly. I ordered the Smash Burger with bacon and an order of garlic fries. Everything is a la carte so if you want fries, just know they do not come with the burger. Everything was delicious. The Smash Burger was perfectly cooked, seasoned wonderfully, and so juicy! The burger also had some spice to it! It had some pickled jalapenos on it and they added the perfect heat. I loved it. The garlic fries were perfectly fried and crispy and had a great garlic flavor and kick. I will definitely come back here on my next visit to island.

I'm sorry sir, but I didn't get your name....but you were great!!! Your pets are welcomed here, so it seems. Nice touch. Ok, ok, the food was great! There is a small plate menu. Everything looked delicious. I must say being a Southerner and ordering Mac n cheese at a bar seemed off, but let me tell you...that Mac n cheese hit!!! Cheesy with a little smoked flavor was perfect!! The baked spinach dip was also very good. Great margaritas, good customer service, comfortable seating and great music makes for a perfect evening.

Huge shout out to Joe! He kept checking on us to make sure everything was perfect. I told him to surprise me with a drink, and he came back with the Island Magic...and wow, he wasn't kidding. That drink was dangerously good. If I didn't have a flight to catch in an hour, Joe probably would've had me missing my plane! Great food, great drinks, great service, and a clean, welcoming place. What more could you ask for? Tiffany's is officially my #1 must visit spot in Maui. Food: We ordered the honey walnut shrimp, miso butterfish, garlic furikake fries, hamachi sashimi, garlic noodles, and crispy chicken. My favorite was the hamachi sashimi. What I enjoyed about this dish was the diced maui onion that offset the citrus from the ponzu. The flavors are light, and refreshing. The most disappointing was the crispy chicken. I thought it was too salty, but that's my preference and salt tolerance. The miso butterfish was also a great dish. The fish was buttery and flavored well. Not too saucy but the perfect amount of sauce. Service: Service is friendly, like most of the restaurants on Maui. The food was served in a timely manner. The ambiance is casual and felt like a bar restaurant. Overall, I'm not sure if I would return. After ordering 6-7 dishes, I wanted to be blown away by at least 4-5 of them, but that wasn't the case. Do yourself a service and try it out at least once if you are curious!

The restaurant is located at the shopping center where the Maui Ocean Center is. There is plenty of parking. It has great views of the harbor as well as air conditioned inside seating, and a very clean private bathroom. We spend a lot of time here and have watched restaurants not last quite frankly because they have a hard time staying consistent. It took us a couple of visits to give this place a try and we are bummed that we waited, because it is SO GOOD! Our server, Riley, was super friendly and offered us his suggestions, which we took. We started with the crispy kanpachi toll. Then tried the special (uku), the scallops, a salad and cioppino. Everything was so fresh and perfectly cooked. The mash was perfect with whatever sauce the scallops had. We topped it off with two desserts because we couldn't make up our minds. The chocolate cake was okay - we opted for no caramel so maybe that was the missing piece, the cookie in the cast iron skillet was SO GOOD. Gooey, and perfect with the mac nut ice cream. Kudos guys, please keep it up! If you're on Maui, definitely give them a try!

The hostess who greeted us was incredibly friendly and welcoming, so we were excited to eat here. Unfortunately, our server, Denise, made the experience unpleasant from the beginning. When I politely asked for the drink menu, she responded, "Yeah, I'm about to tell you if you let me talk," in a rude and dismissive tone. My husband also asked for sharing plates, and instead of acknowledging him, she simply dropped them on the table without saying a word. We were dining with our toddler and specifically asked for a cup with a lid because he would easily knock over an open cup. Despite that, an open cup of water was brought to the table anyway. To make matters worse, the drinks were bitter, and toddlers fries were extra salty even after saying "no salt". Overall, the food and service were nowhere near what we expected. It's disappointing to spend money on what should have been an enjoyable vacation meal only to leave feeling frustrated. Based on this experience, I wouldn't return or recommend this restaurant.
