Pricey, quality. Service is great. It is in the montage so expect the price. The real location is shutdown, but it's still open next to cane and canoe.

We came by here randomly as we waited for our reservation next door for dinner. This spot is located inside a hotel, as is the restaurant we were going to (Cane & Canoe). They also serve food here more causally if you decide you need a meal, too but they're a full bar. We opted in for drinks: gin & tonic and a tequila cocktail with strawberries. They were both very strong drinks for someone that's not into drinking. Those who do like drinking would appreciate it more. Two drinks was around $50 which is expensive, but they don't skimp on the alcohol. The waiter was super friendly and nice. We were able to bring our drinks over to the restaurant across the hallway when our table was ready.

    The spa day drink! Yum!

Best place we've eaten at yet! Amazing atmosphere, view, live music. Must try the hot wings, lobster Mac and cheese, and the day spa mocktale. Soooo good! Highly recommend!

We had the montage Mai Tai and the olive oil Cake, both were amazing, the drink like nothing I have had before with lots of flavors yet not overpowering.

The place is beautiful and modern, albeit loud inside. Also, I'd say it's not the most Hawaiian vibes, if you're going for that specific vibe. The food was really good. It was expensive, but to be expected. I went with the double fish entree and it escapes me what two fish, but it truly was delicious and maybe the best meal on my limited trip to Maui. The ube bread was dough and delicious smothered in their compounded butter. The cocktail was good. My kids ordered ice cream sandwiches, which we were told were small, but they were actually quite big, to the kids happiness. The service was slower, but the place was packed. Overall, we enjoyed it!

Our server came around and took drink orders right away, like we barely had time to look at the menu. I felt rushed. I think his name was Sean. I ended up with a Mai Tai, which I didn't really care for. It was different than other and had a spice (like cinnamon or something with some other spices) taste to it. We ordered a couple order of bread for the table. Everyone seemed to enjoy it, however our knives and appetizer plates were cleared before the bread was finished and knives were not replaced. Halfway through our server offered kids water cups to my 5 and 7 year old. We also had to ask what the fish or the day was then had to ask how it was prepared. Server was awkward and would randomly come over and hover. Food arrived and everyone seemed happy with their meals. I ordered the shrimp & scallops and like other reviewers said, it was very bland, shrimp was over cooked but my scallops were perfectly cooked. We ordered desserts to split amongst us. Cheesecake was my favorite, lava cake was disappointing and our kids enjoyed their cookie ice cream sandwich. They had those drawing tablets for the kids to draw on while at dinner and I think that is genius! There was a 22% fee for a large party (again, 8 of us) on top of their 4% "convenience fee" It's an open air restaurant and there was no breeze. It was hot and sticky the whole time, which was uncomfortable.

My cousins ordered cocktails and our server was so kind to let them know if they weren't happy with it, they could exchange it which they did. The first course of delicious appetizers was the Caesar salad with anchovies and the Kahuku Sweet Corn Agnolotti with Keahole lobster! That was so buttery delicious and small enough to make you want more! The homemade taro rolls with butter, oil and honey was a nice accompaniment. Our second course was just right portion wise and savory. My cousin even said he was full, which never happens since he loves to eat! We enjoyed the 48-hour Wagyu Prime Rib which was so tender and easily cut with a butter knife. Yummy dollops of potato purée and broccolini were beautifully placed around the meat. My other cousin enjoyed his Shrimp Scampi with fresh house made tagliatelle, capers, Kula tomato and basil. The dessert course was a great way to end our meal. I got the Pineapple Upside Down cake with a scoop of Ube Ice Cream, biscotti crumble and Kula Rum Caramel. My cousin's panna cotta was made with local Maui Kuia Chocolate and chantilly cream with a tuile that had light sprinkle of black pepper. Overall, a wonderful experience and only $79 for the 3 courses! We will definitely be back.

So of course we ate at Cane & Canoe nearly every night of our stay. We also ate here for breakfast one day. For the price, I think it's very overrated. But here's what I think are good. - the bar menu has more casual food (burgers taste good, fries are good) and for staters, they give you gourmet popcorn - the dining room has yummy bread starters with honey, whipped butter, and olive oil From the dining room, I really liked their jidori chicken!! more than their steak. Their pineapple upside down cake was yummy and warm too. Their normal price seems really steep though and the views aren't that good. As for service, all of our servers were friendly and made small talk with us, and delivered every plate with a smile. Overall solid 4/5, 3.5 if I had to pay full price.

However, as he is now a mid aged teenager and with a developed pallet, we decided to take him. We are from San Francisco so he has grown up going to many fancy restaurants however, in Maui, we tend to be pretty casual and chill. I got on my OpenTable and plugged in our interest because nothing was available the entire 10 days we were there. A few days and I got a ping that a 4 o'clock three top in the bar was available. I snagged it and I'm so happy I did so! Turns out we were right within their happy hour offering so we gladly took advantage and ordered everything off the menu in addition to other items later. The shrimp was incredible the hummus, unique and delicious the pork quesadilla on the rich side, but a nice accompaniment to our appetizer stage of the experience, we got the truffle fries, and as with any truffle fries I've ever had. They were equally delicious. In addition to our main courses, everything was super tasty fresh and well presented. The view and overall environment of the inside bar was incredible. Our accommodations are oceanfront so to still get a wow factor from a restaurant setting other than the sea house notable. The highlight of our experience was our amazing waiter named Dylan, a young man with a polished and professional and friendly approach. He was very attentive and spent time with us, enjoying our stories of life and sharing his own. These were all obviously cliff note versions as he was busy with other tables, but he was really engaging and offered incredible advice on what to order. We have had lots of fine, dining experience, including Michelin star restaurants, and this guy could easily work at any of them however, he did say how happy he was at Merriman's and that says a lot I could tell the staff was all having a good time and enjoying their working experience which then of course the vibe rolls into the guests and their dining experience. I hope the manager reads this and appreciates such a kind young wonderful man working at their establishment and representing to the T. If you're lucky enough to score reservations, definitely go! Oh! And don't forget the vanilla ice cream there is something crazy special. It might be gelato actually whatever it was made all of our heads spin absolutely crazy good. And if you are staying in Napili, it's an easy walk for us. It was like three minutes.

The poor bar tender could have been selling more food and drinks which is the name of the game for business; however no bar-back or even management engagement. The Mai Tai was good when finally received but I was frankly ready to cancel my order. Wife's chocolate coco peanut butter drink was a great dessert first drink but took forever to make. You know how sometimes when you order nachos and they come out soggy? This didn't, it was nice and crunchy and after a beach day, it was just right with the beans, pico, jalapenos, and sour cream. The fish and chips were delicious- the fish was nicely battered with a THICK chunk of fish, not skimpy at all and the ribs were nice and juicy and fell off the bones!! Our favorite was the hot booty ruben sandwich- full of flavor, juicy meat along with the tartness of the sauerkraut! Our least favorite were the chicken wings, it wasn't as juicy as we hoped it was going to be but it was a chunky and at least got us the protein we needed.
