I had heard about this place, but mainly regarding the games that are set up inside (similar to Dave and Busters). Met some colleagues at this restaurant for a business meeting during lunch. The restaurant has a nice-sized private area upstairs. The menu is expansive and I had a difficult time deciding what to order for my first visit. I settled on the Red Fish Bowl and a Caesar salad; the fish "nuggets" were seasoned just right, but were a bit dry. Others in my party ordered fried ribs (who knew!), wings, lemon garlic salmon, and the Red Barron. Everyone basically enjoyed their food, but those who ordered the fish indicated theirs were a bit dry as well. Not sure if the fish was cooked too long this day, or if this represented the normal way it is prepared - if so, will steer clear of fish items from the menu. Notably, the servers were super nice and attentive, which was very much appreciated. Overall, we had a nice time upstairs away from all of the noise, lol! If looking for a good time, loads of fun, and don't mind lots of noise, this is a great place! I even noticed that folks from a family reunion were there, which is a great idea in terms of entertaining folks with different interests. I am sure there is a game for everyone! :o) I will plan to visit again to try other items on the menu but will do so at a time when it is not crowded/not as loud. :o)

We took our grandkids for a fun afternoon. They bowled. Not a 300 game between them. In fact, not even with both scores totaled. But it was fun. The arcade has several old school games (hoops/ski all) and more modern electronic games. The kids raced motorcycles and formula racers, killed aliens, and found other ways to protect earth. The bar had a few large screens. "Bar food" looked like slightly better than average bar food. Although, kids in the lane next to us ordered some loaded fries that looked really nasty. I did notice the kids left most of the plate untouched. Matt be they really were nasty. Still, Hangar 38 is a great rainy day activity for kids, while Mom & Dad can head to the bar and relax some alone time.

My son and I came for lunch and to just check out this place. I've heard good things about the food and thought it would be fun for my son too. It was not very busy when we visited. Everybody working there looked absolutely miserable, except the hostess. To be fair, our waitress smiled and was friendly enough but I could just sense the misery. Even the cute bartender who wasn't busy looked like he really didn't want to be there. There was a man there who appeared to be a manager. He looked the most miserable of all. This just kind of put a damper on our experience. We had the Hangar salad, vegetable medley and boneless garlic wings. It was all very good. I have no complaints about the food at all. I will return with my son. It's such a potentially fun environment- games and bowling alley- but I just wish the staff appeared happy too.

Came in for a rainy day activity and ended up having the best Saturday in awhile! Food was fantastic and the menu is broad, lots to pick from. The kids had a great time in the arcade and bowling and they even enjoyed their lunch as well!

I love Hangar 38 so much. It's a lot of fun. There's loads to do for adults and kids. They have coin pusher games, shooting games, virtual roller coasters, air hockey, and more. The games are usually all in working order too! They also have delicious food, an awesome bar, a bowling alley, and an epic prize section. What more could you ask for? Oh and I highly recommend the rum runners. They are delicious and so cheap! I also love the little sliders and pretzel. Everything I've tried has been great. I would highly recommend Hangar 38 for a fun activity to do with kids (or without).

Table in the "back" (west side I think!) crazy place with excellent food!

I've reached the point where I may need to start referring to Growler Country Tavern & Grill as…read more"The Office." Not because I work there, but because it's become increasingly difficult to explain to my family why I keep disappearing for "a quick bite and one beer" and returning three hours later with a suspiciously good mood. The first thing that gets you is the food. The prices say "local tavern," but the quality says somebody in the kitchen is showing off. Everything arrives with the kind of care and attention to detail that makes you wonder if they accidentally sent your order to the wrong table--the fancy table. Then there's the beer selection. Calling it the largest in North Florida might sound like marketing until you open the menu and realize it has more options than some people's retirement plans. If they don't have a beer you like, there's a decent chance you don't actually like beer. What really seals the deal is the atmosphere. Plenty of places claim Southern hospitality. Growler actually feels like they're happy you showed up. No attitude, no pretension, just good people serving great food and enough beer choices to make decision-making a team sport. At this point, if my family asks where I'm going, I'll simply say, "The Office." Technically it's not a lie. There are deadlines, important meetings with friends, and quarterly reviews of the tap list. Productivity remains low. Job satisfaction is through the roof.

However, on a recent trip I discovered something a bit disturbing and honestly confusing. I was with a group of colleagues, and three of us have Alpha Gal (red meat allergy caused by the lone star tick). Thankfully I desensitized myself enough that I can eat SOME red meat. The other two are highly sensitive. I ordered the wings again and passed them around to share. One of my AG friends ate one and the other asked the waitress if there is cross contamination. We were informed that the wings are fried in BEEF tallow. I panicked because the one friend is so sensitive that she can't even go to a petting zoo with hoofed mammals without reacting. So lucky that she had taken an Allegra that day which helps with the allergy enough that one wing fried with beef fat won't cause anaphylaxis. However, if the other girl had eaten it, she very likely could have had a terrible reaction. It does not state on the menu that the wings are fried in beef tallow. It's very important that allergens such as this are noted. I would never have thought myself that it was fried in beef fat. I would've thought it was vegetable or peanut oil. I would hope that this restaurant will add red meat allergens to their menu as Alpha Gal is becoming more and more common. Better yet, don't use beef products to cook chicken products.

The pictures are from a recent event they did to showcase Monkey Shoulder whisky. They also now offer charcuterie boards from Little Paris, a restaurant nearby. A nice addition! But here's what's really great about the Lounge: if you aren't sure what brand or type of liquor you might want to buy or try, ask for a flight. We wanted to explore various toed of gin and they poured us a flight of different brands. But more than that, they poured it for us straight up and with tonic so we could try then both ways. Then, since they are part of and connected to the liquor store, we could go next door and buy the gins we liked. Pretty cool and very convenient.

Though you cannot enjoy a cigar inside they have a nice covered area outside the lounge. Spirit availability was impressive for the size lounge. I was interested in Redbreast Irish Whiskey and they had 12, 15, and wow 21!!! The lounge inside was what I consider small, bar seating, and some table and comfortable chairs. The outside area was covered. Comfortable chairs with tables and ashtrays to handle about 25+/-. Two TV's. There are standing fans and heaters. There was no service to the outside area, so you picked-up your choice of spirit and got comfortable outside. We enjoyed our spirit and cigars with no one complaining about the smoke. It happened to be a very rainy night and the north area was a bit flooded, but no leaks from above. Pro Great selection of spirits. Cigar and I think cigarettes, evidence by butts in the ashtrays, are allowed outside. The inside lounge was very clean, as well as the two unisex bathrooms. Con The flooded area was unfortunate, but there was only three of us, and it didn't cause an issue. The Ashtrays had been mostly emptied, but not wiped down. Really not inviting to rest your cigar on a dirty ashtray. An easy wipe with a microfiber goes a long way. Not really a Con, but there was no Service outside on the Tuesday night we visited. Overall a nice experience for a dreary night. My friends and I will return, hopefully on a nicer evening. Note: If you don't bring your own cigar, the liquor store has a small selection available right next door.
