The 1 star is solely in recognition of the fantastic design and decor. This cafe has great ambiance. The menu choices appear to be very appealing, especially when you begin to see plates come out of the window! Yum! We were seated across from a table that had a party of about 12. Their food arrived and the diners began to eat. When the waitress came back, she asked how everything was, and one of the men said, "I ordered a BLT." She replied, "That is the BLT." He said, "But there's no BACON!" She was back in about 5 minutes with a bowl of bacon for him to put on his own sandwich. That should have been a sign. It was well over an hour before we got our food. My friend's 2nd glass of sweet tea was nothing but melted ice at this point. I was never offered a refill of my water. After our food arrived, the waitress never returned to our table again. I ordered the "Frito Pie" which had cheese, Texas Chili, and topped with pulled pork and onions. I got it and asked the waitress where was the chili? She said it's blended into the cheese. Then how is that "chili"?? It was chili flavored cheese sauce that looked like concession stand cheese. There was way too much pulled pork, so it had a sweet taste that was overpowering. Sad interpretation of a Frito Pie...especially for us Texans. My friend ordered the Brewster Buffalo sandwich. You would expect the chicken to be the star of the sandwich, but it was literally the size of a large, 3-inch chicken nugget, cradled in 2 large slices of soggy Texas "Toast" (not toasted and too much butter made it oily when you held it), and there was nothing to moisten the sandwich, like mayo. It was dry and plain on the inside. The waffle fries?? They were so overdone and super dry, they felt like wood chips. There was no ketchup on our table, nor was it offered. Our server always had her back to us and never bothered to pass by our table again. Neither one of us finished our meal. I was giving them a second chance today. The last time I came, we ordered salads, but those got screwed up, too. How can you mess up salads? We were very disappointed, and I expressed our concerns at the register to our server. All she could say was, "sorry." I said it was the kitchen's fault, not hers. We described our food issues, and all she could say was "sorry." I asked, "Is there anything you can do?" She said, "I don't have control over the kitchen." I asked, "Isn't there a manager we could talk to?" She said, "The managers are too busy." I just laughed out loud. What a joke! The entire wait staff, bus staff, and kitchen were all VERY young people; maybe high schoolers, but no one over 25, for sure. The 2 youngsters doing the cooking were always laughing. The servers moved like molasses, and NO ONE was expediting the food. People waited FOREVER to get their meals. It wasn't even crowded. When we arrived, there was a party of 12 inside, and one other small table being occupied, and there was a large party on the outside patio. That was it! There are no excuses for bad customer service and lousy food that is overpriced. read more

This place is adorable! Nice little semi-circular building right by the tarmac at Uvalde Airport. We had the fried mushrooms appetizer, excellent! My wife had the chicken fried chicken with jalapeno cream gravy, I got a bite, it was really good! The jalapeno gravy was epic. I ordered the Chicken Bravo Lima Tango , which was obviously , chicken with B , L and T. It came on a crispy sourdough with some aioli mayo. Excellent Sando. on the side, I had coleslaw. I'm not a huge Coleslaw fan, my wife is more the aficionado in that department. It tasted good to me, she said it was too "wet", too much dressing. I also ordered the bacon, creamed corn. It was good. The corn is very sweet, but the bacon balances the flavor. Our server was sweet and very attentive. One note for the management, the kitchen had their radio on full blast which would have been ok if the music wasn't competing with the country music blaring in the restaurant. Pick a lane, people! First time I ever went was for Father's Day weekend. Great food! Very helpful, friendly staff. The environment inside is nice and clean, even though the tables are just a little too close and the tiniest bit wobbly. Despite that, I will definitely be visiting again. This restaurant impressed me. It's located by the Uvalde airport, so as we drove in I got to see some really neat little airplanes. When I walked in, I noticed that they had those cute fifties style tables and chairs. The atmosphere was very pleasant and the restaurant was full of visitors from Del Rio who must have attended a cross country event. Even though the restaurant was packed they had plenty of waitresses to wait on everyone. Our waitress, Lili was very friendly and helpful. She came back to our table several times to make sure we had everything and to check that everything went well during our meal. Honestly, she was the best waitress I have seen in a while. So we loved our waiter! He was sweet and knowledgeable about the town! However, all the food tasted like it came from a bag and put on our plates. I had the shrimp tacos and the tortillas were perfect but it all lacked any flavor or seasoning! My husband had the pulled pork Frito pie, and the pork was nice but it was dry and nearly cold. The ambiance was lovely, but hot! We went at 7:30 and were sweating in there. My husband says he'd go back because of the ambiance, I will be pushing to try different places. read more

Today I ordered to go for treating my friends... the burger didn't have the sauce, meat was dry and taste porky! No ketchup for fries... fried pickles were soggy... and I don't know why but she didn't even eat half of her salad. I couldn't ask her why. In addition, I couldn't find Burgers on the menu when I tried to order online. I flew in, bought $100 of aviation fuel next door and was given a voucher for the burger - a good deal for pilots. I was greeted with warmth and my order was taken quickly. I ordered the P51 and a coke - this has to be one of the best burgers I've ever had and the waffle fries were really nice. I felt terrible having the food off of the back of a voucher so I bought a nice mug and a tee shirt. The waitress who served me was really really nice - a very sweet girl who helped me get the right size tee-shirt from the flight center next door.
