I have had lunch here several times prior and surely wrote a review. Maybe not. DonG and me having lunch now. Me a chicken breast sandwich and is best I've ever had. Large breast and nice waffle cut fries look fresh and handmade. DG burger, he says maybe best burger he has had also Is beautiful with bacon and mushrooms, the P51. Great choice here. Cute little café just off the runway at the airport. They had a very diverse menu for breakfast lunch and dinner. Everything we had was good and the waitstaff was excellent. Had lunch there today November 6, 2018 and the food was not nearly as good as it has been previously. Both our dishes work pretty bland. read more

We had a party of 8 and none of us were impressed. The staff was friendly, but the food was not very good at all. First, it all came out at different times, then when we did get it, it wasn't made correctly and/or just wasn't very good. Our server apologized and said they were training someone new. He offered us free ice cream, but he really should have comped the food that was wrong and took forever to come out. Needless to say, we won't be back. read more

Hands down the best pulled pork sandwich I have ever eaten. This place is amazing, a hidden gem worth visiting. The server was polite, friendly, and attentive to our needs. Onion rings were fresh and tasty. Fries are good, crispy, and warm. The tea is fresh brewed. Prices are quite reasonable for the quality of the food and the ambiance. Place has outdoor tables and a small play area if you are bringing little kids along. Have not seen the kids menu so cannot comment on that. I REALLY wish I could give this place more stars. The atmosphere is amazing. The food was great. I had the chicken fried steak which had great flavor. The jalapeño gravy was very tempting but I stuck with the old faithful. My kids had sliders and peanut butter jelly. The burger and waffle fries were both good. Husband had a salad which was large and fresh. Tea was pretty sour. I'll likely go with a soda next time. They have a nice outdoor seating area and play yard for the kids. Waitress was super friendly. So what is taking it down to three stars you're wondering? The first plate to come out of the kitchen were the kid sliders. About 10 minutes later they brought out the salad and peanut butter jelly. And then approximately 30-40 minutes after the first plate was served the chicken fried steak came out. I mean...it would have been nice to eat together. I can overlook 5-10 minutes but everyone was done long before I even got my plate. I took it home. But everything else was so great that I'm willing to give it another go. Hopefully this was just a fluke. read more

Clean. Variety of menu items. Chicken tenders are made from frozen. Tasty, but not as good as scratch. Club was pretty good, and jalapeño gravy is tasty. Wait staff could be friendlier. She just handed us the check with no thank you or have a good afternoon. read more

I will continue to drive from San Antonino for the food and the service here. Solid beer selection, food is always fresh. The wings are crispy and cooked to order. So I'm new to Uvalde market, and was just given this as my new territory to cover. As I was sitting at my office a young lady stopped by and handed out flyers for this place and the Local Fix. So since lunch was coming up soon I decided to give it a shot. This place was a bit of a let down as I had heard this place was good. First service was not good at all. Sat down at the table took server about 6 to 7 minutes to finally ask for my drink order when there was only 1 table of six people in the restaurant that were about done with there meal. When she finally came back, took my meal order. The P51 mustang came out quick. First impression not very good. Meat was over cooked almost to the point of being burned. I finished my glass of water and there was no one to be found to get me a refill. Finally another lady came from behind the kitchen door and I called out for her that I needed a refill and this is in an empty restaurant with only one other gentlemen sitting there. Didn't finish my food and went to go pay. Paid my tab and where I was overcharged by a dollar, no big deal of course but since the server never made a ticket the gentlemen at the counter just a drink and burger right? I answered yes just trying to pay and get out from a place where I thought for sure I would have a good experience but turned out it was horrible. From the food to the service was bad. As you can see I usually have really good experiences. Not this time and I won't be back. read more

My wife and I have eaten here about 5 times and It is our favorite place to eat in Uvalde by far. Everything that we have eaten here is very good and the portions are enough to satisfy any appetite. The decor and ambience of the place is very nice along with the outside view. This is a delayed review since I have been here a few times already. The only reason I am not rating 5 stars is because of my previous visit where the young lady waiting tables seemed like she would rather not be bothered. The food is ALWAYS good and the wait staff with the exception of my previous visit is always attentive and friendly. I have to say that I am pleasantly surprised with the beer selection that seems to change up frequently. There are not many places in Uvalde where you can beer that isn't bud or miller. I am so glad the owners figured out not everyone drinks that crap. read more

This is the second time I've eaten at Hangar. The first time was very pleasant! I'm sad to say the second was NOT. For starters, please turn the music down inside. I shouldn't have to yell nor should the waiter have a hard time hearing me. Fly strips! Please buy some. Half way through my meal, I almost got a to go box because of how much I was fighting the flies to eat my food. They were so horrible! The food was decent but I was so annoyed by the music and the flies I didn't really get to enjoy it. Probably won't be returning. read more

Disaster. Visiting from out of town. Saw good reviews and stopped by for brunch at 10:00 on a Sunday. Restaurant was not crowded, but service was terrible. Took more than twenty minutes to get a cup of coffee. Took about an hour to get regular food. Orders were all messed up and came out over the space of 20 minutes. Some orders missing completely. To be fair, once the food arrived it wasn't too bad. While we were here, I saw two separate tables get up and leave because they didn't get service. Anyway. We won't be back. read more

Excellent atmosphere. Good food but Service isn't that great. VERY SLOW. 45 min to get a salad and a burger. Only 8 people in whole restaurant on a Wed. Plus the Young Staff would mysteriously disappear or hang out in the kitchen and make the food sit on the counter ready for 10 min. While they chatted. I was tempted to get it myself. They were too busy on their phones texting. Sad. But food was good and music was great idea. PLEASE IMPROVE ON STAFF ISSUES. Btw this happened on 2 different occasions. read more

What a disappointment for such a promising place. Went here for lunch with my girlfriend today and automatically fell in love with the atmosphere/theme! The throwback to World War II is very cool! All the burgers are even named after World War II planes. So, we were really excited when our food hit the table. She had a "Spitfire" burger (Medium Rare) with coleslaw and I had a "Spearman" burger (Medium Rare) with waffle fries. After my first bite, I knew that my burger was as well done, as well done can be. It actually tasted burnt! I turned to try the waffle fries and they were ice cold. Giving up on the fries, I had to smother my burger in Ketchup just to get past the taste. My girlfriend had the exact same experience. We probably should've sent our food back, but didn't feel like waiting another 25 minutes for another burger. Upon checkout, we were asked if we enjoyed everything. We expressed our complaint and the waitress replied, "I'm sorry, your total is $21.59". I will definitely give this place another try because I love the idea and the theme. The music is fantastic, and the restaurant is actually inside an old hanger! I just hope that this place does something about the food. Judging by the other positive reviews, we might have just had a fluke bad experience. read more

My family and I came here to celebrate my daughters birthday. I called in at about 2 pm to reserve tables for 18. We arrived about 10 minutes late and they were ready and waiting for us. We had our drinks within a couple of minutes and the fried pickles soon after. They are awesome, by the way. We all had our food within 30 minutes. Everything was hot and fresh. My in laws had never been there and they loved it. The chicken fried steak was really good and the shrimp tacos are freaking amazing. The kids loved walking around and looking at the planes. We had a great experience at Hangar 6! The decor takes you right back to the 1940's, from the retro blinds to the tile in the bathroom. Not kitschy, either; just cool. Our eats were really good. The reuben and burger were delicious. The frito pie was good, too, just the added pork in top made it dry. Desserts were excellent, especially the chocolate cake!!
