Pho Long is currently take out only. They are out of many of the drink options on the menu, but I was happily surprised to find their drinks to be very good. I tried a peach black tea, a pineapple smoothie and the matcha tea. Each one tasted great, like I got them from some of the best boba places. We were looking for somewhere to eat in Uvalde and there is not much to choose from. This Vietnamese restaurant piqued my interest because of the boba offerings. We called in out lunch order and when we got to the restaurant, we ordered drinks too. They asked us to wait in our cars for our order. I ordered the spring rolls and the fried shrimp appetizer. I've never had fried shrimp like this, but it was pretty genius. They just take a prepped shrimp, wrap it in a rice paper and fry it in oil. They were hot and crispy and came with a fish sauce mixture that was great. The spring rolls were a little disappointing for me. I like spring rolls with lots of different veggies.... Carrots, pickled daikon, mint, Thai basil, cucumber in addition to vermicelli and shrimp and sometimes pork. This one only had lettuce, vermicelli noodles, bean sprouts and shrimp. It wasn't bad, it was just plain I'm comparison to the ones I'm used to having at home. The peanut sauce it came with was pretty delicious though. I wasn't mad about it :) and it was cheap. I'm used to paying double what the menu prices were.... So it felt like a steal. The food was good, the service was nice, it was a good experience overall. Pleased to see Pho being sold in Uvalde! I love it so much and Pho Long can serve some of the best. The only pho restaurant I know to be in Uvalde and they do not disappoint. Service was pretty good! My brother and I ordered takeout. We ordered about 5 items. Two pho, rolls, shrimp, and etc. It took around 10-14 minutes when it was expected to take up to 25. I think there was no dine-in service when I visited a few months ago so unless that is available now, I would like to see that available. Last time I ate it at the park. To anyone in Uvalde or passing through please support these restaurants! We value their diverse flavors and unless we show our support we could lose them. Pho Long is a hidden gem and it's in Uvalde of all places! It's hard to find from the road because it's tucked back behind several buildings. It looks like it could have been on old garage that's been restored and made into a restaurant. Pho Long offers both northern and southern varieties of pho on their menu. My fiancée and I both had the northern style pho with brisket, meatballs, and steak over rice noodles. The broth was excellent with the perfect amount of seasonings without being overly salty. We also split a Banh Mi sandwich with pork which was equally as delicious as the pho. The bread was soft yet crusty and the flavors were outstanding. Pho Long also has boba milk teas. We decided to split a taro boba tea and wasn't disappointed. It wasn't the usual purple color but rather white with whip cream on top. No matter the color, it was excellent and wished I would have had one all to myself. Our bill came to $22 before a tip. Definitely a great value and we will be back pho sure! read more

Delicious! What a great haven of flavor in Uvalde! The outside of the restaurant is not much to look at because it's nestled towards the rear of the lot and surrounded by plenty of dusty parking spaces. The inside is bright and clean. It's also very quiet with background music playing. I ordered a sweet tea. The humble waiter asked if Thai Tea was okay, so I said yes. Out came an especially sweetened tea, heavily served with cream. Although it was delicious it was far too sweet for me and I couldn't finish it. There were hints of coffee, smoke and tamarind. I recommend it if you're in the mood for a sweet treat. I also ordered the basic Chicken Pho with beef broth. The broth was flavorful and satisfying with plenty of garlic. The chicken is perfectly cooked and cut to twice a bite-sized amount. I missed having a sprig of basil and cilantro served aside my pho. Perhaps next time I will request it. BONUS!! Excellent food. Great value. We had shrimp pho and beef and rice. We took it to go. It was packaged very well. The beef was seasoned nicely and was delicious. It was a generous portion and came with rice and salad. The pho was excellent! The broth was piping hot and packaged separately from the noodles and shrimp and vegetables. It kept everything a fresh as possible. A generous portion of condiments for the pho was provided. Very authentic. I wish this place was in my neighborhood! Their grilled chicken was juicy and seasoned to perfection. Pretty sure they use chicken thighs over breast. Way more flavorful and not dried out. The steamed rice along with the egg roll compliments the dish well. Make sure you get the cherry sauce if you like your food spicy, gives it a good kick. read more

Ridiculous! That's how good this pho is! Before going on, I'm not sure I know what "traditional" or "authentic" pho is. But I've had my share across the country and I can tell you this is probably the best I've had. This place is so underrated, it's somewhat small but cozy and very clean. Staff knows very little English, (point at the menu and smile type of ordering) but their pho is incredible. I've come here twice and I've only ordered the pho with brisket, steak, meat balls, and tendon and the spring rolls and it's delicious! Always very hot and just the right combination of flavors. Wow! I'm typically not a fan of Pho to-go, but the Steak pho I got here was just as delicious in the to-go cup as you'd expect sitting down at the restaurant! Some friends from out of state arrived late Sunday, wanting to see a bit of the Hill Country before continuing they journey East. Like me, they are huge fans of Vietnamese cuisine. A friend here in Kerrville had told me about Pho Long in Uvalde, so I thought it would make a good lunch stop. We headed out yesterday morning and ended up at the restaurant in time for lunch, as planned. Pho Long is 100% Vietnamese in it's offerings (other than they offer Thai iced tea), which for this area is fairly rare--most include Chinese dishes. What's even more rare is that they offer pho from both the North and the South. I lived for a time in Hue, which is more or less in the middle, so I was familiar with both. Northern style utilizes predominately beef as its protein and broth while the South favors seafood in pork broth. In addition, the North uses rice noodles, the South both rice and egg noodles. From the North we ordered pho with sliced beef, brisket and meatballs; from the South, egg noodles with shrimp, pork, fish ball and quail egg. In addition, we chose to try both chicken and pork banh mi and fried rice noodles with vegetables. We ate round-robin style, tasting everything. Both versions of pho were quite good but a bit heavy on the salt. The broths had decent body and color. A downside is that only one size is available and on the small side. Pho is traditionally served with a side plate of bean sprouts, sliced hot pepper (in Texas, usually Jalapenos), cilantro, lime and Thai basil. The basil was missing, which seemed odd as it's flavor is essential but some was brought from the kitchen upon asking. Both banh mi's were not as stuffed with meat as I've had in other restaurants and the bread was not traditional. However, at $3.25 (as of this writing), they were a bargain. But the flavor's the thing and in that respect these sandwiches certainly didn't disappoint Finally, the fried rice noodles with vegetables was very nice. This is a dish that is often missing from the menus of many Vietnamese restaurants. It is like Chinese fried noodles except here the noodles are rice to the Chinese egg noodles and the spicing is brighter and less heavy. Both vegetables and noodles were cooked very well. If you find yourself in Uvalde, give Pho Long a try. The folks there work hard to produce good and authentic food and deserve your support. I certainly intend to return. read more

I have to say that Pho Long is one of the best hidden gems in the area. My wife and I moved to Del Rio from Hawaii, where there is an abundance of good Vietnamese restaurants. Pho Long is just as good or even better than most places in Hawaii. The pho broth is good quality and you can't beat the value. Their smoothies and coffee are top notch as well. If you're traveling from Del Rio to San Antonio, this place is well worth a short stop. I can't recommend Pho Long enough! read more

We were very happily surprised to find this place in Uvalde. I was a bit confused why more customers weren't there, though, because we loved it. We had northern style pho with brisket, steak, and meatballs. The broth was outstanding; perfectly seasoned, with a large portion of rice noodles and meat. All the condiments (peppers, sprouts, lime, Sriracha, hot oil, pepper paste, etc.) allowed us to tailor it to our preferences. Next time, I'll order without meatballs, as they were a bit bland and rubbery. The beef was delightful, and there was plenty of it. The shrimp spring rolls had perfect rice wrapping, but the were missing basil and used iceberg lettuce, instead. The peanut sauce made up for the missing flavor, though! We took a bahn mi for later, but it looks scrumptious. I also ordered a homemade lime-aid, and it complimented the food perfectly, zesty and very sweet. The service was excellent. Fast delivery, drinks filled quickly, and smiles all around the place. I hope this review encourages more people to try it. It's definitely a do-again for us.
