This is the most adorable cafe in town. Im all about environment, and the atmosphere here is cozy, quaint, and unique. Everything is centered around flight since we are at the airport. You can eat inside or outside and the food was great. Simple, diner breakfast food that tastes good and comes out fast and hot. If you're looking for fancy breakfast food, this is not the place to go to. H1C offers a simple menu without too many choices, making it easy for customers to choose. Came here on a recommendation and well, I'll never recommend this place to anyone. It started off by we walked in and no one greeted us. No clue if there was a list of see a table take a table. A guy come up and said (there is a table for you right there). So we went to sit down and got chastised by the older waitress for not being in the list and jumping the line. Ok. My bad. So we put our names on the list. Waited about 45 min. Watched another family arrive and sit with in 5 min. WTF. So I said something. I got the (oh, sorry it was someone's else's fault). Ok. So a few minutes later we got our call to be seated. Was shown a table and I asked for the other one by the window. She explained she was saving it for a family with kids. Ok. Got it. Understand. So another table by the window came available. Asked for that one and they gave it to us. Took way to long to place drink order. Food order was not long after we got our drinks so that was good. Food was ok. Nothing special. Place was clean but no masks worn by staff. Almost 0 cars about COVID. So if you worry don't go here. I'm not worried but wanted to let others know. read more

One of the best spots for breakfast in Hemet! And trust me, I've tried a bunch of other spots! :-) The staff is friendly and very helpful here; you won't ever see the bottom of your coffee cup! Food is good. It's a diner, so expect diner type foods, but with that said, this is at the top as far as quality goes! The cook knows how to make hash browns the way they're supposed to be made! Thanks, cook! It can get crowded on certain mornings, but you never have to wait very long, so put your name in and enjoy checking out some of the small planes at the airport while you wait for a table. read more

Had breakfast here yesterday and boy was it good. They had an off the menu item that I had, chip beef on toast. Now, before you turn up your nose to this, let me tell you, it was delicious!! I grew up on this and have never seen or heard about it at a restaurant. So when she said it was the days special, I asked for it. It came with 2 eggs and hashbrowns and all I kept telling my wife was, "this is sooo good." My wife had the half ham steak and eggs with a pancake. Mom and I went here at about 11:00 on Saturday...she ordered breakfast while I had lunch. We REALLY wanted to like this place based on other Yelp reviews but, I'm sorry, this place was NOT GOOD! Mom had 2 pancakes, 2 eggs, 2 bacon. She thought the eggs were undercooked, in fact she called them raw. Gross! The pancakes were so-so but she enjoyed the bacon. I had a "Philly Steak" sandwich, which was really just a hot roast beef (deli meat) sandwich with American cheese and served on a too-soft roll. The fries on the side were practically inedible....and anyone who knows me knows I love fries! The clincher was that when I asked for ranch dressing for my fries, the waitress brought me a pre-packaged tub of ranch. I'm sorry, but we were NOT impressed. Our waitress was friendly but seemed slightly annoyed that we had questions about the vague menu (there are no descriptions of sandwiches, only names like the Mustang or the B-52). Well, maybe it's just me but I don't know what these things are. She kept leaving us, making statements like "I have food to go out, I'll be right back". To me that's not cool. I get that other customers want their food but the 30 seconds we took to ask some questions will not hurt their food. I really can't see Mom and I returning any time soon. After reading some positive reviews about it, my husband and I decided to have breakfast at the Hangar 1 Cafe. The restaurant is very cozy (small) inside and we were welcomed with a nice smile by our waitress. Now, we have all been to places where it almost seems as if you are intruding when you come into the restaurant, but not here. We felt very welcomed. Think of it as having breakfast at your friends house and not at a restaurant. We both ordered breakfast. Our food was made very quickly and it had big portions. And the coffee was awesome! Someone said they ground their own beans? Yes, you can tell. And the food tasted great. Although it came quickly, food was not made sloppily or cooked poorly. We would like to come back and try lunch. One thing that really set this place off was our waitress, Bambi. She was so polite, and genuinely nice and not that fake niceness you get at other places where they just want a good tip. I searched for a fun $200 hamburger destination to take my wife for a flight. We haven't had a chance to fly together for 4 years since our little one was born. I think I made a great choice. The airport is fun, very friendly people who walk up to you to talk or take your picture, ask where you are flying in from etc.... The location is gorgeous with snowy mountains as a backdrop and some funky firefighting aircraft and experimental planes on the ramp. You open the door of the unassuming little building that is the Hangar 1 Cafe and you are immediately engulfed with fun and welcoming atmosphere that resembles more a neighborhood Thanksgiving breakfast than a restaurant joint. People at the tables and the staff are all talking and laughing, having a good time. The food is excellent, everything is fresh, tastes like home-cooking, nothing is overdone or dry. Great sausage and gravy, tasty eggs, perfect bacon, perfect home fries (those get extra points for tasting and looking actually like potatoes, perfectly skillet-fried with grilled onions....), then we were offered persimmon-strawbery pie that was incredible! The owner really puts love into her cafe and it shows. Flew in to Hemet this morning from El Monte. Transient parking was adjacent to the restaurant, along the east side (try not to block the wash rack), also alongside the dirt patch. I didn't see any marked spaces for transient, you just have to line up against the dirt patch. We arrived on a Sunday around 9am, there was only a 10 minute wait for a table for four. The service and the food were excellent. I recommend the Kentucky Hot Brown which was extremely tasty and filling! My friend had the Banana Nut French Toast which was tasty too. In speaking to some locals, I learned the chef prepares something different every day, so you'll want to ask what the specials are and which pies are available. If we weren't so stuffed, I would have tried one of the pies. read more

It's Good Friday today and my husband I planned to get to Hanger One about 10AM. Surprisingly, it wasn't crowded and we had our pick of available tables even the patio outside. We sat so we could view arrivals and departures at Hemet-Ryan airfield. We are "aviation nuts". The waitress came over quickly asking for our drink order. Ice tea and water for us. Both were fresh and clean tasting -no bad water taste or murky glasses; Adequate sweetener on the table. Hubby had Pancakes, Bacon, and Eggs. I had the special, Eggs Benedict, my favorite with Hash Browns and a side of pancakes-short stack. Quickly delivered to our table, everything was cooked perfectly and of the right temperature. I am snobby about hollandaise. Outside of my recipe and prep, this was the best Eggs Benedict I've had in a long time. The pancakes were of a good size and very tasty. In fact, I will say it again, everything was prepared with professionalism and appeared very fresh. I left out a star because of an annoying habit I see in restaurants: not enough butter and syrup to last an entire stack of pancakes; and just near adequate amount of Hollandaise on the eggs. I was glad the eggs were sunny side up because I would have run out of liquid to sop up my hash browns. Lastly, this is a small place so you're asked to limit your stay to 45 minutes. I get it -lotsa airplane people can talk a blue streak when you're amped up on blue skies and a tank full of Av Gas. But still, its hard to leave this cozy little place with friendly, efficient working people, fun clientele that fly in for yummy airport food (It's a thing). By the way we didn't fly -in.
