However, I wanted to leave my review for new patients such as myself or even those preparing for their first upcoming surgery. I did pay out of pocket and I won't lie and say that it was a hefty price!! Front desk staff will state they do NOT do payment plans if you are uninsured however Daisha (billing dept) was so incredibly sweet and made an arrangement with my finance, we split the cost in half so we paid a week pre op, and then I paid my remaining today! My arrival time was 7:00AM, I checked in by 6:40am, and was called back not long after checking in, I want to say maybe 20 mins max! My pre op nurse(s) were Trish and Leah, omg they both really eased my anxiety, and had such wonderful bedside manner, they made me feel as if I was chatting with family, they promptly got me prepared for surgery by administering my IV, giving me Tylenol beforehand, explaining what I needed to do such as a provide a urine sample, get undressed, check my vitals etc. Leah provided additional comfort by setting the lights down as the beds are laid out in a row outside of the operating room, but curtains are all around to give privacy! Dr. Steehler popped in not long after to go over my procedure, answer questions, as well as discussing medicine aftercare and providing overall reassurance Anesthesiologist Dr. Dobson, did the same as well, asking my medical history, elaborating on the type of medicines I'd be actively given while under and what they do he was kind but more direct simply a doctor who has been doing this for quite a while I could tell, so easy work for him but nice nonetheless! I don't recall seeing him after he came by pre op but I believe he was in the op room. My OR NURSE Shanta was very nice as well as she wheeled me into the operating room, I can't recall the name of the woman I just know she was the anesthesiologist nurse (Asian woman) OMG she was amazing she really made my experience so relaxing as she administered the anxiety medication pre op before I got wheeled in the op room, both she and Shanta were at either side of my bed next to my head. All I remember was Shanta providing oxygen, and the very pretty anesthesiologist nurse, complimenting my dumpling stuffed animal, and next thing I know we were talking about Labubu's which I collect and love as well, the irony of that was just great because she really helped me drift peacefully, and it just created a bond of trust being in her care! After that next thing I know I'm awake in the observation room post op. I cried softly to myself as I woke up I wasn't in excruciating pain or anything I think just the nerves of having my first surgery and successfully doing it, everyone was right it really felt like the best nap, as if I slept on a cloud. Nurses Marlynn, and Susan were also very sweet and gentle with me, they monitored me for 15 min until I was discharged. Sorry ladies as I was out of it and processing going through my surgery.. but I appreciate your reassurance, and care as I was monitored and Susan for coming in clutch the extra banana ice pop! If you reached up to this point, I hope I've reassured anyone who is nervous! The staff is excellent in care, and bedside manner. They made me feel safe, validated in my fears, and provided care ensuring I was comfortable and safe all throughout. The facility is well maintained and clean as well! Thank you university surgical center, should I ever need another surgery I hope to be treated here.

I was referred to Kelli Johnson through a mutual friend of a woman who used her for 2 of her 2…read morebirths here in Florida. I was ready to stop doing my own search for a midwife and finally go by word of mouth instead. I was failing too often on my own and was ready for some personal experiences backing up a referral. I made my appointment by calling Kelli on her cell phone - she was so gracious and sweet and gave me the number of her office to book my appointment. Before Kelli, I was about to give up on finding the right midwife and just go for doctor appointments instead which I really didn't want to do but the emotional roller coaster otherwise was killing me. I hadn't felt that "connection" with a midwife yet and kept hearing other people talk about how they just loved their midwife and knew right away how she was right for them. What was wrong with me? I hadn't found that yet. My first appointment with Kelli and one of her students was AMAZING. We were smiling, laughing, having a great time. It happened to be right before Halloween and her house (also her office) was decked out in Halloween decorations. We drove in the first driveway on accident, her husband was luckily on his tractor and let our clueless selves in. The house was totally haunted out and we were wondering if we were at the right place at all. We looked around and laughed and knocked, no answer... then finally an answer (we also came in the front instead of the side/back where everyone else does!) Her receptionist was sooooo friendly, personable and enjoyable. We talked to her for a while as we waited for Kelli. I appreciated Kelli taking the time for the mother ahead of us as I knew she would do that for me if I needed it, too. She apologized for the delay and when we sat down and talked and explained about our journey to her, we all just felt connected and great about the whole thing. I knew my mom would love Kelli just as I did which is important to me since my mom will be at the birth and wants to know I am in good hands til she is able to be here too. Our second appointment wasn't as enjoyable because there were a few too many students there - but I was able to openly express this to Kelli and she made it just as it was on our first appointment and it has been great going back ever since. It doesn't feel crowded, and my husband I feel at ease there in the room with them. They always greet everyone with a hug and ask how you're doing. It feels like hanging out with friends. Kelli has a calmness about her that puts me at ease, knowing she will take care of me and I don't have to worry even though everything is new and unknown to me. She has given me some amazing literature to read and educate myself. She lets me make my own decisions and supports me along the way. She doesn't force anything on me and offers suggestions when I have questions or concerns. She is very open and doesn't force vaccinations or anything unnatural which is greatly appreciated. I feel very comfortable with her and am looking forward to continuing my journey with her. From all the stories she has shared with me, she doesn't seem like one to intrude on pregnancy but rather lets it happen naturally and encourages you to listen to your body and empower yourself as a woman. I really like that, it reminds me I can do this on my own. I was created to do this. She is a very encouraging an empowering midwife and I am happy so far. I would highly recommend her and look forward to continuing my journey through giving birth in April. I've decided on an at home water birth.

That gave me so much confidence in her as there really isn't anything she hasn't seen or handled. She is deeply concerned with your care and personal wellbeing. Her prenatal care is exceptional. She really took time with me and my husband at each appointment to talk with us, answer our questions and educate us on what was coming next. By the time we got to the birth she felt like family. She was exactly who I wanted in my corner for a 34 hour labor!!! Kelli was patient, problem solving when labor stalled, and most importantly vigilant about making sure baby was safe and doing well. I'm sure I would have likely ended up in a unwanted c-section if I had been in the hospital due to the length of my labor. However, Kelli my amazing and encouraging cheer leader guided me through the hardest thing I've ever done and saw me through to the end. I am forever grateful and blessed to have found her and to have her help bring my daughter into the world!

I had one other disastrous experience with a pain management physician and had given up. But I recently moved and my daughter's good friend who lives in this area works for Dr Bhandary. I was in considerable pain and taking far too many over the counter pain relievers. I was impressed right from the start. The last pain mgmt office was backed up by two hours - that dr. was a greedy man, always in a hurry and never remembering who you were and what your situation was, and rude, to boot. To say i feel wonderful is an understatement. We have taken several different approaches and combined they make me feel marvelous. dI can move freely, and do the things I love to do.

They do not do X-rays. The doctor feels your joints and determines what is out of place. Just from my walk she saw my hip was not aligned. Make sure to stop by to give them a try.

Jessica has a cautious approach to treating her patients but I can see this is only because she has her patients best interests in mind. I feel like she is very honest, straight forth, and direct, and this is actually the way I preferred to be treated as a patient. Jessica was very respectful of my thoughts and feelings, and she took the time to understand my point of view as well. I will definitely be returning to see Jessica again for my future care. The staff at Jessica's office were extremely very kind and caring.

The PET scan was for the pulmonary embolism, pneumonia, and the mass on my lung, that I was diagnosed with nearly 6 weeks prior to my appointment with Dr. De Leon. At my appointment, Dr. De Leon was very kind, patient, thorough, skilled, knowledgeable, and understanding. Dr. De Leon was everything that I love about the medical team with AdventHealth medical group. If you were not aware, AdventHealth medical group is a Christian medical group. They offer cutting edge medical care, that focuses on treating the whole body and mind. They even provide patients with somebody that can pray with them upon request. Their hospitals are like stepping into a luxury resort and spa, that are THAT beautiful. Their patient health portal is the nicest experience that I've ever had with a medical health portal. My mother accompanied me to my appointment and Dr. De Leon even went as far as to go through the PET scan, on his computer, frame by frame, while explaining everything that we were seeing at the same time. At my appointment Dr. De Leon first decided that he wanted to do a biopsy on the mass in my lungs, because he felt the rounded shape of the mass was suspicious. After talking with the doctor who Dr. De Leon wanted to perform the initial biopsy, Dr. De Leon called me back into his office, as he had decided on a change in plans. Once I was back in Dr. De Leon's office, he explained that had spoken to the other doctor, who had told him that the mass in my lung was in a very difficult place to perform a biopsy, and it could be more dangerous to my health for me to go through the biopsy procedure at that time. Dr. De Leon decided it would best to repeat the PET scan in 3 months, and have a follow up visit with him after I have the PET scan. I was very happy with his decision, and I felt at peace knowing that I was in such very good hands with Dr. De Leon, my Pulmonologist, and with all of the other members of the medical team at AdventHealth who have treated me.
