Dr. Mont Cartwright is a seemingly qualified eye surgeon but he seriously needs to hire an experienced scheduler. Two visits ago for after-surgery followup, I left after waiting 45 minutes past my appointment time. Last visit I left after waiting for 90 minutes past my appointment time. Today as I checked in I was told it would be a two hour wait. No call to alert me or to reschedule. I left. This inconsiderate treatment of patients' time is intolerable and unacceptable. I will be looking for a new eye doctor. read more

My child uses a prosthetic shell and it has been some time since they had it replaced. This is the first place in Florida that we have dealt with for this and up to this point they have done an exemplary job. The woman that runs the place is very good at her craft. Everyone has been very friendly and helpful and we hope to continue using them in years to come. read more

Dr Cartwright and his team are the best! I have been his patient for the last 12 years and am so grateful for their care. Yes, you might wait a bit in the office but it's worth the wait!! My initial problems were high level of astigmatism and cataracts. Dr Cartwright explained the process of treatment and I followed all his directions on post surgery care. The result is I have had 20/20 vision for the past 10 years!! More recently, I had eye lift surgery and the results are excellent. I can't recommend Dr Cartwright enough! read more

The most unprofessional experience ever to have in a medical practice. Lacks communication with the patience. I took my 82 years old mother for a glaucoma diagnose and treatment. three times to walk in the office the day of appointment to find an empty office. Third time waited in the lobby for an hour an half, to be told that the Doctor needed to leave and that office was going to re-schedule the visit. Needleless to say , we wont be back. Do not use Dr. Cartwright. He is very friendly and he supposedly has a reputation as a good surgeon but his staff is very unorganized. The waiting room smells terrible, like a public rest room. Be prepared to wait. It is always a long wait till you actually get to see Dr. Cartwright. You will lose at least 2 hours waiting. read more

This is the worst office (in Kissimmee, FL) I have ever had the misfortune to interact with! They overcharged me on all 4 visits by more than twice what I should have actually paid and it is virtually impossible to get a hold of anyone in the office to request a refund. The staff is the most uncaring, incompetent group of people I have ever seen! Seems all they are interested in is getting your money! I truly feel bad for anyone who goes there with no knowledge of insurance because they are most likely being taken advantage of. Do yourself a favor and go ANYWHERE ELSE!!!!!!! read more

If you need cataract surgery and have been rethinking/overthinking or have just put it off (like me) Don't! I was diagnosed with cataracts a few years ago & it just kept getting worse. I was having trouble driving at night & even walking in the dark. My sister had cataract surgery with Dr Cartwright & was very happy with her results. I finally made my appointment & had my right eye done first. I also had astigmatism & had both corrected at the same time. WOW! what a difference! everything is clear & I can see the way I used to see when I was 10 years old. There was no pain. The office staff were all friendly, courteous and professional. Awful wait times. Two doctors in the entire building seeing 100 patients a day. It's more like one doctor since Dr Cartwright sees every patient with the other doctor who seems like a lap dog on a leash since he just follows Cartwright like a robot. Nothing gets done here in a timely matter. It's an absolute mess. They have two decrepit and old waiting rooms it felt like a game with how many rooms we waited in. The whole place needs a face lift since it looks so old and run down. After all I went through they recommended us to a retina specialist since they can't do that. So much for 35 years of experience as an eye doctor. So if you have a problem with your retina don't even think about coming here. read more

I just had cataract surgery in both eyes. I just had the left eye done two days ago. I am very pleased up to this point. I couldn't see out of my right eye and right after the surgery I had my vision back ! Its amazing ! No pain and no complaints here. I have the regular lenses covered by insurance and I can see with excellent vision in only a couple days WITHOUT GLASSES. I can say that the staff was very nice at the front desk in both locations. The staff in back was also extremely kind and caring. The surgical staff and nurses in Kissimmee were amazing ! So friendly and kind and made me feel calm and welcome. I was terrified to have the first eye done but it was so fast and easy that the second eye was nothing. Dr. Cartwright is very good and friendly and explanative throughout the entire process. I'm at day 16 post op in the right eye and day 3 in the left eye. My vision is wonderful already. I am glasses free after years of needing them and its wonderful. read more

Dr. Mont Cartwright and his entire staff were very professional and did excellent work during my series of appointments and subsequent surgery on both eyes to lower/relieve high intraocular pressure, to remove both cataracts and insert basic lens implants. I am waiting for the swelling to go down in my left eye after the "block" injected by the anesthetist named: "Eric". Now after the second surgery, thanks to Dr. Cartwright and his Medical Eye Associates staff, my intraocular pressure is where it should be, and my vision in both eyes is 20/20! read more

My husband and I both go to Dr Cartwright. Recently we both had eyelid lifts. My husband's looks great. Mine was the most recent. Since I only have vision in one eye. I have to trust my surgeon. The lid lift (Not the technical name) looks great and I can see so much better. The staff is very professional in Orlando and Kissimmee. Dr Cartwright also treats eye since I have diabetes. Again only one eye have to have a great doctor as diabetes can cause blindness. read more

I have reported the Orange Avenue office to the Department of Health. I arrived for my 8 am appointment this morning and there was a line of about 8 masked people (social distancing) outside waiting to get in. The office was not yet open. A sign on the door indicated that patients must sign in at the office and then wait in their cars to be called in due to Covid precautions. More people arrived after me and it appeared that at least one of them had the exact same appointment time as I did with the same doctor. When I finally got to the front of the line, I saw that the small, dark waiting room was already packed with people waiting for their appointments. No one was waiting in their car and no social distancing precautions were taken. I cancelled my appointment immediately because I was afraid for my safety. I should have read the online reviews of this facility first as many other people complained about similar unsafe conditions there. In addition, when I tried to call the office to speak to them, every automated choice selection resulted in "We are unable to connect you the party requested." This practice could be a Covid hotspot. When making my reservation, I mentioned to the receptionist that I had spoken with another ophthalmologist from the Miami area regarding my stye who recommended having them removed. I clarified with her that this appointment was to remove the styes and she understood/confirmed. Which at that point, I accepted the new appointment for the following week. When I first arrived, the entire parking lot was filled and many cars were illegally parked. I had to park down the street at a meter only to have to move my car hour later to the parking lot, which still did not have adequate parking. When I arrived, I was handed a stack of papers to fill out and sign. The first paper was an acknowledgement that I could wait up to 2 hours in the waiting room. The staff did not take the time to verbally set expectations, they had to give their patients a form to sign. I arrived at 3:15p for a 3:30p. Around 5pm, I was on my way to cancel my appointment when I finally heard my name called. I was taken in to the back room for a vision test and to have my eye dilated, which I though strange since I was only having my styes removed. After the prepping, I was put in another room and waited about 10 minutes before I saw the doctor. Dr. Cartwright came in and told me exactly what I already knew, I had two styes that needed to be removed. His assistant came in to take photos and he left the room, all of which happened in less than 2 minutes. I was under the impression that his assistant would prep me to have the styes removed but then she beaconed me out of the room to make another appointment. When I told her that's why I scheduled this appointment, she said that I was schedule for only a initial consultation and would need to come back again for the actual removal. I was sent to the receptionist who informed me that owed a copay for $40 and would need to schedule another appointment that would incur an additional $40 copay. $40 and 2.5 hours later- I tried parking at a location that did not have enough parking; Waited almost two hours past my appointment time; Had my eyes dilated for no reason thus affecting my vision for the remainder of the day; meet with the primary doctor who told me everything I already had heard from another ophthalmologist; was asked to rescheduled for an appointment 2.5 months out. I took time off work and paid $40 to get absolutely nothing... This office is practicing poor communication and fails to set expectations. read more

Dr. Cartwright is an amazing surgeon!!! He took a tumor out of the side of my face and I have recovered beautifully! I am so grateful to him for performing such procedure on me and making me look like I never had anything done at all. I recommend him highly!!!!!! His staff is also nice to work with. As a plastic surgeon I WOULD NOT RECOMMENDED Dr Cartwrite ! he was very friendly, explained with detail how was going to be the procedure. He did blepharoplasty (upper & lower eyelid) when I was leaving the place I was dripping blood from my right eye, I fall sleep and when I woke up, the blood glue on both eyes my eye lashes together that I couldn't see, my eyes were swollen so bad I couldn't opened for two weeks. He told me that he was going to do another two procedures, he explained also with a lot of detail very friendly and kind. When I returned after three month I found out he didn't do one of them the way he told me, and for the other one he told me:"you don't need it ! After the surgery my right eye looks that have an infection or mosquito bite and the cut on the left eye has a 45 degree angle and long, bags under my eye HORRIBLE!!! He told me to cover it with my hair and put make up on, after he told me that not was going to be visible and only was swollen that was going to go away !!! HORRIBLE!!! But he charge 4,600 for procedures that wasn't done and what was done looks like he cut off my skin off instead to make nice lines are swirly ! read more
