I came here for a knee brace fitting and was helped by someone named Mark. Right away, he complained about having to read my referral paperwork/medical file, which made me feel like an inconvenience. I'm 22, and he spoke to me in a condescending baby voice, saying "adulting's hard, isn't it?" during the fitting. In just 20 minutes, he made me feel small, criticized my surgeon, badmouthed physical therapy, and tried to pressure me into a generic brace I didn't want. I switched my referral to Dynamics O&P in Mission Hills and had a great experience! I'd definitely recommend going there instead. read more

Made an appointment for custom orthotic inserts. At the time of scheduling the appointment I was told they were 100% covered. A week before my appointment I called again to confirm they were 100% covered because if not I would cancel as to not waste my time and the clinics time, and the woman said yes they were. I get to my appointment and am told when signing in they are 100% covered. Stoked. So cool. Impressions are taken and I go to check out and the girl tells me it will be $300! I'm flabbergasted. Why $300 you might be wondering? Me too! They said that my deductible was not met. Why the hell would you say it's 100% covered multiple times? Then she tried to give me the run around about insurances this and that and she didn't know before because of codes and what not. Then don't say it's covered! The problem is not the cost. The problem is communication and expectations. Moral of the story is either this office is poorly run or they are doing some fraudulent behavior. They try to get you to come in and then slap you with the bill at the end. Bait and switch. Not cool. read more

Allegedly Rebecca is bias towards African American, I received unethical treatment as a client by Hanger Clinics staff members. I called to discuss a billing concern. As I was laying out my concerns, Rebecca hung up on me. I called back, and her assistant was rude to me as well. Furthermore, I asked both of the women to provide me with the office manager's name and phone number, they took turns hanging up the phone, they refused to provide me with the office manager's information. They are two hateful women, they need patients to stay in business, they don't seem to care about the repercussions of their hateful demeanor towards new clients. read more

I have dealt with three Hanger Clinics and this is the most poorly run one by far. Second year in a row we have issues with this one. There was a glitch in paperwork through insurance and instead of notifying me so I could rectify it, they just never ordered the shoes. I was not aware until weeks later when I inquired about when shoes were arriving. And when I ask if there is anyone else I can speak with I am told there is no one else. I was referred from my insurance through my HMO insurance. I had a great experience first with Rebeca Green at the front desk who was able to see us when the other options were booked 4 weeks out. Rebecca was very kind, helpful and knowledgeable. The Tec guy (sorry i done remember his name) was very knowledgeable and patient explaining how to use the device. PLEASE SEE PICTURES FOR FULL STORY!!!! I had the worst experience here today. I was first seen here on Thursday April 20th. I was at the appointment for my daughter she was referred here to receive a cranial helmet. So we go to our first appointment and I give them her insurance info my ID and the referral. We're in a waiting room waiting for the Dr., consultation was going great. Finally we agree that the cranial helmet would be the way to go. I did ask if it would be covered through my insurance and if they would approve it. They check for me and tell me YES IT HAS BEEN APPROVED. I then ask okay just making sure I don't have to pay out of pocket. They assured me that my insurance would cover the entire cost. I go ahead and schedule her appointment for two weeks later to pick up her helmet and all that. Today May 3rd was that day. I show up to her appointment check in give them her insurance my ID, as usual. We are taken to the room where they bring out her helmet, do a fitting, and all that. The helmet needed an adjustment so the Dr., went ahead and did it. Once he comes back he then tells me he has bad news. He tells me my insurance did not approve/authorize my daughters helmet and they denied the request. I was in complete confusion because I had asked and reassured many times at my first appointment that the insurance would cover the costs for her helmet. He then told me that their clinic "does not have a contract" with my insurance plan, meaning that my insurance is not accepted there. So then I ask, so if my insurance is not accepted here how did you move forward with me at my first appointment??? I handed you my information and you checked it and now all of a sudden you don't accept it??? I said why would you make the helmet if it had not been actually approved?? He responded, " because we thought they would approve it." What???? What kind of clinic is this. So then he says you can pay for it out of pocket. So I ask how much would that be... he said let me check with the girl in the front they should know about prices. So he leaves and I call my insurance and tell them what's going on, the representative for my insurance is kind of shocked that the Dr. told me the request for her helmet was not authorized because he said that items like those are usually approved because they are only requested when necessary. Which I thought was the case as well. The representative then puts me on hold to contact the referrals request department directly to get more information about this specific request. In that time being the Dr comes back into the room and let's me know the cost of the helmet... he said "We will leave it for you at the Medi-cal price, $2,200" I said what???? He then said oh no worries we can offer you a payment plan, three payments of $734!! Is that supposed to make it much better??? read more

I'm so disappointed with this place! I've been trying to get insoles made for over a year with them. Numerous times they've redone them because they can't seem to get them right. I've spent numerous hours on appointments, driving to & from, and phone calls. They don't return any phone calls or emails. They don't even answer their phone! Calls always go straight to their answering service. My feat hurt so bad because i don't have my insoles. How can a business be so unprofessional and still be in business is beyond me! read more

Ordered my prescription orthotic shoe insert my doctor ordered. What they said would take 2 weeks to be made took 5 weeks with limited to know updates. The insert didn't seem right when I received it, but didn't know any better. Saw my doctor and it was made incorrectly. I have been calling this clinic and the encino clinic leaving multiple messages the past week. I have yet to receive a call back. I have never used or ordered an orthotic, but being a business owner myself with my real estate business, if I were to have customer service this bad, I would be living in a box somewhere. Will never use any Hangar Clinic again. PS. This is my first negative review I have ever posted. I never want to hurt anyone's business, but this is now ridiculous and I recommend returning my call to correct my orthotic. read more

This clinic contacted me after I gave them a terrible review because I was blindsided by their bill. Their owner/manager contacted me regarding the internal review and I told him how poorly I was treated. He apologized and said he would contact me about refund. I Never heard back fr him. He offered to make me another set of orthotics but I told him they were useless sins I don't have 4 legs! The man who took the mold of my feet was really nice. The women who worked in the front never greeted me or talked price until after my orthotics were made! Very unprofessional! read more

Brought my 82 yr old aunt who can't walk without orthopedic custom shoes to this clinic. They quoted us prices we ordered them and never heard back. After calling them 5 times 4 weeks later find out shoes weren't ordered, and the prices doubled from what they originally were told. They also said they had no help and couldn't get back to us for another week. Absolutely awful service when someone's life is compromised! read more

Facey has a contract with Hanger and I was sent to their office to have insoles made. My husband, my daughter and I went there around November 2020. My husband's insoles were returned 3 times because they were not done right. My daughter's and mine were not ready until February 2021 and still needed to be remade 2 times. When mine was done incorrectly by the third time it was already April 202. I went for my appointment and was waiting for 35 minutes to see the technician. When I asked what was taking so long the manager overheard me and had the nerve to ask if I wanted to be re-scheduled! Mind you, he knew of my insoles being redone so many times, and his tone was rude and condescending, instead of apologetic. Instead, I returned the insoles for good and asked for my money back ( which took another month). I wish all 3 of us had made this decision earlier because my husband's and daughter's insoles are hurting them and will need to be remade. I reported them to Facey and to my insurance company, and was referred to a better place in town. Don't waste your time here like we did. You will regret. They have no idea how to make custom insoles or how to run a business. read more

I finally agreed with my wife to bring our 8 month old son here to get his helmet fitted/placed due to his flat spot (he was born with torticollis). Robert and staff were EXCELLENT in meeting our expectations both with his routine follow-up appointments and most importantly - the final results. After 3 months my son now has perfectly shaped head! I went there for a back brace. I needed it to support my back when doing house cleaning or slight lifting. I had an appt. that I made two weeks earlier. I had to wait 1 1/2 hours to get my brace and had to have a cow in order to get it. Being tiny, at 4'6", the brace was made for someone much larger. I had to make 2 more appts. over a 4 week period because the belt was cumbersome and not giving me support. I gave them the type of belt my chiropractor recommended and they said they would have to order it. That was July of 2017. The led me a merry dance. According to them, it was the same one they gave me. NO it was not. Then they claimed the provider gave them the wrong code. NO they didn't. They said the Provider never told them my height and weight. YES they did as I saw the referral. THEN it was that they ordered it. They asked me to send a photo which I did. They said they'd call me when it came in. Three weeks go by without hearing from them. I call. The belt was NEVER ordered and their reason was because they don't deal with the company who makes it. They never told me this. Never called. Keep in mind that this was the 2nd week in Sept. that I found this out. They received my referral in July. Of course they wanted me to come in again and they'd TRY to find something in their stock pile that worked for me. That was the last straw for me. I should have just ordered the belt from my chiropractor. I would have but I am covered by my insurance for this. But lesson learned. Do not do business with this incompetent and unprofessional and seemingly unconcerned branch of this major company. read more
