Would not recommend if you're looking to not have a surprise bill a year after services. Doctors themselves were fine. Adjustments were fine. But they really need to figure out their billing department because It's extremely annoying to be told one thing and then be surprised with extra charges for services that were done so long ago, I can't even tell you if I was there or not. Maybe that was their plan. Do you remember what you ate 11 months ago at 9:30AM? Oh no? well we have notation in our records showing that you ate this and you can't argue with us. - That's how ridiculous it feels. Though I do recall them trying to charge me in the office for a service I did not have the week prior, and because It was brought to my attention in a reasonable time, I was able to confirm it. Not the case a year later. They Make it seem so simple that I even brought my husband in. Surprise! He also got a bill with surprise charges. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. When you are in extreme pain, you want an accurate diagnosis and help as quickly and thoroughly as possible. I had that with Dr. Shadi Haddad. I was in extraordinary pain from my sciatic nerve - I could barely walk - and could find no comfortable position. Dr. Haddad explained the problem causing the pain and immediately set to work treating me and giving me stretches to do at home. Those stretches made a remarkable difference and brought me tremendous relief. It is now a week since he first treated me, and I can say that I am about 70% better today than I was then. For the first time in a week I was able to run an errand. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel and know that I will be completely without pain soon. One thing I really appreciated were the explanations Dr. Haddad gave me. He explained the reason why I likely had this situation, what he was doing and why he was doing it, and the timeline for my healing. On a side note, the Smyth Drive office was clean and pleasing to the eye. It was festive with holiday decorations, and I appreciated the soft music playing. I was in desperate need of a TENS unit. I looked at all the places my doctor's office recommended. Could not find one because I carry Blue Cross-Blue Shield. I have PPO and thought it would be easy. Then I called and spoke to Jessica Murrie at Unruh Spine. After discussing what I was looking for and going over options AND checking my insurance, she made a recommendation for the TENS unit PLUS recommended a back support. Supposedly, it is the Cadillac of braces. She said it would be approved with insurance, so what the heck, why not. What a blessing. I was leaving for a trip to Georgia and wouldn't be home to receive the package. So she sent it to the address I would be staying at. She called to make sure it arrived and took the time to help me with instructions on its use, care, etc. Then we reviewed the brace. She said I would get replacement pads for six months for the TENS unit. I sure did. As for the brace, I tried it on, it felt a little uncomfortable and I really didn't think it would help. Fast forward to a time that my back was killing me at work and I tried it on. Still uncomfortable a little, but I no longer have back pain after work whenever I wear it. I am SO IMPRESSED! Okay, so it really is the Cadillac of braces. Mostly, I'm repressed with Jessica. What a jewel she is. I owe her a lot. I am doing so much better. She really takes care of the patients I can't thank her enough. read more

My wife and I both used this facility but were charged different amounts (we have the exact same insurance). I was not happy with the service so I did not go back, but my wife did. Once again, their office charged a different unapproved amount to our card. No receipt given. There was subsequent bills sent to our home and the explanation for the reason for the charges was not satisfactory. Dr. Herta and her whole team are amazing. I started going to Dr. Herta after my midwife recommended her for my headaches while I was pregnant. I have suffered from headaches my whole life and once I got pregnant they became more frequent and I didn't want to medicate. I have never in my life been headache free until I started seeing Dr Herta. She is amazing. Now my husband goes as well, he has frequent back spasms and issues and his also became a lot less frequent with Dr. Herta and she allows him to heal in half the time or less when he comes in with a specific issue. I first visited Dr. Haddad in mid-October of this year. I had received physical therapy from a few local PTs after a lower back injury I suffered in February. While I experienced a minimal amount of relief from my previous PTs, I didn't feel like I was healing because I still had days where I was in excruciating pain. At my first visit with Dr. Haddad, he did a thorough examination and assessment of my range of motion. He then asked me what I would like to do that I was currently unable to do and when I answered him, he assured me I would do those things again. I had never had someone give me that kind of assurance, so I was excited, albeit a bit skeptical. Long story short, after six weeks at two visits a week, I am significantly recovered from my injury. Dr. Haddad is that rare combination of experienced, confident and humble. He will go into as much detail as you would like regarding the mechanics of your body and drivers of your pain. I never once felt rushed out of his office. The exercises aren't always easy, but they are effective, and he has a ton of education and experience behind him regarding what works and what doesn't. Dr. Haddad will equip you with exercises you can do at home and I assure you, if you're faithful about doing them you will heal. Don't wait eight months like I did. If you're in pain, go see him now! Dr. Haddad is definitely the best physical therapist I've tried thus far! He is an injury whisperer :). I was at a different facility for a couple of months but it felt like nothing much was happening. Yet with Dr. Haddad, after just 3 visits, I already feel so much better. I couldn't lift my right shoulder and my head without shooting pains in different areas prior but now it's down to half. He is very knowledgeable and gave mini lessons to explain the pain I was experiencing at the moment so not only did I feel better but I also came out more informed . He is kind, patient and compassionate. I'm recovering quite nicely. The staff of Unruh are very professional and the facility itself is clean and conducive to the whole experience. read more

I started seeing Dr.Herta when I was 4 months pregnant as I began experiencing back pain and numbness. She helped me have a significantly better pregnancy experience. I was provided stretches to help in between my appointments. I always felt it was safe for me and my baby. She's nice and knowledgeable, always answered any questions I had. It's like magic how she always takes care of my problem areas. The staff at the front desk is always so nice as well. I recently had my first adjustment postpartum and am still pleased with the results. Appointments are quick, so it's easy to fit into the day (15 minutes or less). I went to Unruh in Newhall for a problem in my neck. I received adjustments all over. The result was new pain in other areas. Before receiving treatment, I had them assure me what my insurance would cover and the cost to me. They told me I had unlimited visits and no copay. The charges I incurred were for electrical stimulation of the nerve area. The chiropractor told me the specific fee for those services. Each time I received these extra services, I paid that date. However,each time I paid, the young woman tried to charge me more than the chiro quoted me. When I let her know this, she would apologize and say it was a problem in the system and she would charge the amount I was told. This happened every single time for all my visits. I did tell her this and that it didn't provide a secure feeling. The chiropractor wanted me to have a nerve study to pinpoint the area of concern. I scheduled the appointment and just before the visit, I called to verify facts regarding the treatment. I discovered they did not have the correct area of my body in their orders. I told them this and they told me not to worry about it and they would verify the correct information before I arrived. This was also a business related to Unruh. I canceled it. Despite the information provided regarding my costs, they have continued to send me statements attempting to collect more money after I ceased treatment. I do not recommend this business. I went to medical orthopedic doctor and am in physical therapy for an area "treated" that was not a prior problem. read more

I'm writing this review to let folks know about how my treatment is going at Unruh Spine Center. I came in with a 13mm herniated disc at L5-S1. I went in because I was in severe lower back pain, had constant numbness, and could barely walk. The spine surgeon said my only option was surgery. Dr. Unruh consulted with me and said that I had a 56% chance of spinal decompression therapy working. It would have been 86% if my herniated disc was less tha10mm. Mind you that spinal fusion has a pretty high percentage of failure and it comes with a ton of risk and cost. I chose to move forward with treatment. Dr. Unruh said I would know within two weeks if the treatment was going to work. He was exactly right. It's been two weeks and I'm on my road to recovery. I even played basketball today. I can't believe it! Unfortunately, I have to report that the next visit, the tech didn't hook me up to the DRX 9000 the right way and I slipped thus negating the treatment (I looked this up). I asked for help and the staff went out of their way to fix the problem. I went a few more times and quit going because every time I was connected there was a problem. Unless they commit to having a doctor connect you, avoid the treatment. All that said, Dr. Unruh himself contacted me and offered to repeat the treatments at no cost, etc. I was very appreciative but I won't be back. read more

Our daughters who are track athletes now come for regular treatments for hip alignment and back adjustments to help keep them injury free. My appointment was at 9:30 am, the Dr. came and got me, brought me to the room asked a few questions and came back at 9:58! I know because I was going to walk out at 10. When she came back she was rushing around so much it made me uncomfortable. I went to see Dr Herta when I was having migraines and back pain with my 3rd pregnancy. My midwife referred me to her. I was a little skeptical of chiropractic care as I've never seen a chiro before but Dr Herta was great. She was very knowledgable and taught me a lot about chiropractic care. My migraines were gone in just 2 sessions. I contiuned to have regular sessions throught my pregnancy. When I went into labor my daughter was sunny side up (facing my pubic bone instead of facing my sacrum.) I called Herta's office and they got me in just an hour later. After Dr Herta worked her magic I felt my daughter rotate with the next contraction and she was born a few hours later --not sunny side up! My easiest labor ever! I have also taken my newborn daughter to see her for torticollis (tight neck muscle) which helped me breastfeed much more effectively. Highly recommend her! read more

Not impressed with the girls who work in the front. Before I had my first appointment I provided them with my insurance information. I had my first appointment and before I left was told the insurance verification would be done before my next appointment. Went to my next appointment and was told again, insurance was pending. In between my visits I called and asked if someone in billing can call me to make sure insurance verification was done...3 times I asked for this to be done. The young girls at the front would tell me someone would call me back and no one did. On my third visit I asked again about my insurance and the young girl at the front desk said my insurance doesn't cover chiropractic services. Something didn't sit right with me on her answer so I called my insurance. They do in fact cover chiropractic services and Dr. Herta is an in network doctor. I called after I found out this info and asked for the office manager to call me because I was pissed. Of course, no call from the office manager. Needless to say this place has lost my business. Please hire people who actually do their job. Dr. Herta was great but between the girls in the front and the billing, I will no longer be a patient. read more
