I came in for a pizza by the slice and decided to eat it in the restaurant. They call this 'Hangout Pizza' but I actually found it not a pleasant place to hang out. The guy working here didn't ask me if I wanted my slice to go or for here and just put it in a to go box. Eating it in the restaurant was not pleasant as the guy had DJ music blasting across the restaurant while he was working in the kitchen. He should have offered to turn it down for me. The pizza itself was just okay, about what you would get at like 7-11,v definitely not as good as a slice from the Costco food court. They only had cheese and pepperoni by the slice and I selected pepperoni. They may have good pizza here if you custom order your toppings, I don't know. I'm certainly not rushing to return back here but am glad I gave them a try out. Low customer service effort here. read more

It was a ;ot easier to salvage the pizza than the salad. Yesterday I added truffle oil and balsamic vinegar to the salad and it was still just OK. I wouldn't order it again, particularly when the Greek salad is so full of goodies and I know I liked it. Sometimes Jamie W. and I have a craving for a pizza. Usually we will go somewhere to satisfy the need, but the beatdown we felt from all those atmospheric rivers made us go the delivery route from a place I've never even noticed. It's somewhere on San Pablo, but frankly we never looked for it. However, we learned something constructive from our experience. They make a very good California Garden Pizza. A large cost us $30.99, which was on the high side for us, but it was chock full of fresh veggies - bell peppers, spinach, mushrooms, black olives, tomatoes, zucchini, and artichoke hearts - atop a thin crust saturated with melted cheese (photo: https://bit.ly/3H3n6RP). I have ordered takeout "Create your own" pasta from Hangout Pizza 3 times. It has always been delicious. My favorite has been the Alfredo. It was flavorful, creamy, and rich! Was looking around for a more traditional tasting pizza outside of the larger chains like Roundtable, etc. and came across this place. I was able to place my order via phone and the representative was very helpful. I ordered the Monster Slice that comes with a can drink. When I came in it was pretty empty but the other representative was very helpful and expressed they just recently took over a couple months ago. I have ordered from this place plenty of times on grubhub and though they have some great dishes, they can be considerably inconsistent. I find the spaghetti to be my favorite! It is always tasty... but every time I have ventured outside of this meal I have been left disappointed. I once ordered ziti and received pesto pasta, and another time I ordered rigatoni and it was more like penne Alfredo. Both times I left honest reviews based on my experience and both times the owner left condescending responses taking no accountability. In one response they accused me of lying about my experience and possibly being a competitor and another suggested that I took my business elsewhere... and I will. I feel that if they worked on consistency and actually remedied the issues they could be great, but I refuse to waste my money here any further. read more

We were there on a Friday night around 6:30 pm and the place was dead. In my experience, Friday nights were perhaps one of the bigger nights of the week for a pizza place. We ordered pizza and beer. The pizza was good enough to return for take-out and better than the Albany Pizza it replaced. Pizza choices in this area are not particularly good for those who might consider themselves a pizza connoisseur. The crust was medium thickness, crunchy and had a nice flavor. As for the ambience, not a place most people would want to hangout as it felt more like a store or small afternoon sandwhich shop (bright lights, unattractive decore). Had a simple sausage cheese pizza and it was good. Also had chicken wings, garlic fries, and the rigatoni. The rigatoni was a bit on the dry side but still tasty. The wings and the fries were a hit! 11-15-24. Perfect West Coast pizza! This was our go to spot for over 12 years, but then it changed ownership and was really bad. We switched to a different place for a few years, but were never happy and decided to give Albany Pizza another shot recently in case ownership had changed again. And wow! Now for sure it's the best pizza around in the Albany El Cerrito Kensington North Berkeley Richmond Annex area (we've tried them all). . Perfect thickness for a California style crust, with nice fluffy edges. Good zingy red sauce with lots of flavor. Generous amount of toppings. Arrived hot. Couldn't be happier. Can't believe I haven't updated this review over the years. We come to Albany Pizza Co. about once every week or two. Or, it's better to say, my wife sends me hear every week or two when we're ready for something tasty, easy, and no fuss. We eat here and at Gordo's more often than all other places combined. Why? A.P.C. is cheap, delicious, and staffed by the nicest people in existence. There's great people watching while you wait. An interesting slice of society comes in here, and they all leave happy. (Slice! Hah!) About those slices, we both get monster slices, it's basically like a small pizza custom made for you. We both get different toppings. J always the sane things. They've known her order for years now. I always mix it up, and they don't mind if I ask for extra sauce. They don't skimp on toppings, it's fresh dough, the sauce has a good flavor, the cheese is high quality mozzarella. There is a ton of great pizza around here. But when you are ready for just some solid regular pizza americana, say for a bunch of kids having a birthday party, this place is better than all the others. Give it a shot! read more

WAYYYYYYYY overpriced for school cafeteria grade pizza! Then, we tried again (why? I guess we don't learn) via their delivery service offered on cybellesalbany dot com. They took HOURS to show as being on the way,,,then showed delivered,,,,NO PIZZA! Several texts later, they had NO idea where our two pizzas were, and still charged us. I am now awaiting a refund for our phantom pizzas. Teens got dinner from a different establishment...at 8pm instead of 6. Be smart (not like us!) and DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more
