I can't say enough good things about Hank! First off, his prices are great. He offerred but didn't need to beat other companies in the area. His prices were the cheapest, but you wouldn't have any idea from his excellent performance. I hired him for "bowling with Batman", a surprise birthday present for my girlfriend who is a huge fan. He knew his role well, stayed in character the entire time, and even went to a bowling alley earlier in the week to work on his bat swing. This guy bowled a spare using a crazy hook shot that I have never seen before. And yes, he perfected that technique on his own time without any extra payment! Unfortunately, the bowling alley was against fun and kicked batman out for having a mask. (SERIOUSLY AMF LANES WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM??). Hank didn't miss a beat and improvised for the rest of the hour we had him by taking us to the park, teaching us his bat moves (Bat punch, high kick, etc), and giving us an excellent sword-fighting lesson with his baloon swords. He has a nasty wit and I haven't laughed so hard in years. My face literally ached the rest of the day from laughing so long. I wouldn't hesitate to hire him again, though without kids that opportunity may not present itself for a while. And yes, he takes credit cards. Wow! Hank just recently did my sons 1st birthday on feb.22,2014 and literally from the moment he walked in the doors the kids loved him! He jumped in the doors and said ahoy mattes at the top of his lungs. He got everyone's attention right away! He was there at exactly 2:30. He got all the kids involved. He didn't let any of the older ones sit down thinking they were to cool. Lol. They got sword balloons, did sword training, did tug a wars and even got the adults in on that. All the kids got paint on mustaches. Not only did he keep the kids entertained the adults were entertained watching him! After the party was over I walked mr pirate outside and he still continued to talk like a pirate. He never broke character. Everyone loved him! This Pirate is Awesome! We originally met "the Pirate" at a Halloween party at Old Ranch Country Club where he successfully entertained over 60 children ages 2 to 14. He was hilarious, and the kids followed him everywhere like the pied piper. When we went back to the club at Christmas, the kids were disappointed that the Pirate was not there. So, we hired him for a 4 year old birthday party with over 20 children ages 4 to 13 at my house for 2 hours. Everyone LOVED him, including the adults. Immediately upon his arrival he made balloon swords and enlisted everyone in Pirate training, then tug of war, parachutes, potato sack races, face painting, balloon animals, treasure hunts, etc. It was crazy and fun. Hank came to my son's 4th birthday party as Batman, and he was truly very convincing! His entrance was perhaps a little intense for the age group, but all of the kids warmed up to him and had a ton of fun. Many parents told me that their kids have asked to "play with Batman" for their birthday parties too! While the other kids (and a lot of the adults too!) got super involved with the bubbles, balloon animals, super hero training and magic show, my son stayed really shy and timid and just wanted to watch. But Hank even got him to come around by the end of the party - they gave each other a big hug at the end and my son is so excited about the photo we took of them together. And when I say "came as a ninja", I mean he leaped into the house in stealth mode (perfectly on time, I might add) and thrilled all the party guests for the next hour. He was very good at getting everyone involved and laughing. I will say, though, some of the four-year-olds at the party thought a masked man was kind of scary (understandably!) and shed a few tears at first (they warmed up later), so you may want to consider having Hank come as Batman or a Jedi if you have very young, easily startled guests. He was just amazing, the best kids party performer I have ever seen. He comes like a super hero and leaves like one. We invited Hank to my daughter's 6th birthday. He looked and acted very real and for a minute kids even got a little anxious until Hank started balloon sword fight and a series of other games and they started laughing and running around. He has a lot of energy and comes up with a variety of games to keep kids occupied and engaged. He is also very funny and it makes those games even more fun for all. The parents got engaged as well and had a great time. My daughter asked if we could invite Hank back. Till the very end she believed he was a real pirate. Thank you, Hank! Before I stumbled upon Hank I was mainly looking for someone to host games for the kids for my daughter's 1st bday party. I've been to many party's with non enthusiastic entertainers so I was reluctant to find someone on Yelp. All the fears of hiring a bad act went away with my first conversation with Hank. He is enthusiastic and passionate about his art so I was sooo excited to have him and he did not disappoint. He encouraged that I pick a character for him to perform as I initially just wanted games because my party theme didn't really have a "character". He suggested the non scary Super clown. He arrived to our venue in character and boy was he hilarious! All the adults were laughing and entertained by him. The kids followed him everywhere! I had a crowd of 100+ and that was not including kids. I can't tell you how many times I heard," where'd you find this guy? He's really good!" "You're entertainer was totally worth it!". He seriously managed to ENTERTAIN everyone for two hours and more importantly 30+ kids from ages 1-10 even though we were stuck indoors due to the heavy rains. Hank managed to distract everyone even with the limited space we had indoors and he even got people to come join outside during a small break from the rain. I can't wait to have another themed party so we can use him again. He does it all...comedy, games, balloons, facepainting! He definitely cares about the kids' as not only does he want to help the kids imagine but he is genuinely concerned about them. This was very evident when tug of war was occurring and one child lost his balance, Super Clown was right there to pick him back up. I can go on forever...so much to rave about but I'll end it here. When he got to the party he came dressed as Batman and stayed in character the entire time, even telling me to hide the money at the end until we walked out the door and away from all the kids, just in case they might see..."Wouldn't want to shatter any dreams." He interacted with all the kids on an individual basis and actually remembered all their names, which was VERY impressive. I picked Hank based on his reviews and was not disappointed. He came as a pirate and kept 40 kids entertained at my sons' birthday party. The ages ranged from 4 to 10 years old. They had a lot of fun, it was cute to see them all follow him around. He made them some inflatable swords and they followed his every move through "pirate training", and after that he had many other activities up his sleeve. The parents were having fun too watching his act! He also kept the kids busy through "cake time", while the adults were busy cutting and giving out the cake slices, which was very helpful to avoid a stampede.... A friend told me that after the party, when she was driving her kids home, they couldn't stop talking about him and the fact that he was a "real pirate". Highly recommend.
