Everything went smoothly with the purchase process, and I was excited to drive my car home. Unfortunately, shortly after leaving the dealership, the check engine light came on, and the vehicle began experiencing misfire codes. I'm extremely disappointed. I worked hard for every dollar I spent on this car, and to have problems immediately after driving it off the lot is unacceptable. While I appreciate that the dealership provided me with a rental vehicle, that's not the point. A customer shouldn't have to deal with major mechanical issues right after purchasing a vehicle. l've owned several used cars over the years, and I've never experienced anything like this immediately after a purchase. This has left me feeling like I was sold a lemon and has completely taken away the excitement of buying a new vehicle. I truly feel let down and disappointed with this experience. I will never take my car here for service again. After one service, I drove out the parking lot and had to immediately turn around after my car had a warning alert because my car had low oil level. How does my car have low level when that's what the service was for? I brought it back and the service advisor said he would drive it around to see what's wrong. He immediately drove it into the shop to address it without consulting with me first what the issue was. I was expecting he come back to me to take accountability and then go back to address the issue. But, I felt like they wanted to quickly dodge the issue. Today, I went in to get my car service for an oil change and I asked for a small discount which they easily honored. However, my dad told me there was a summer special so when I went back to pick up, I had asked about it. The service advisor said, the service was already complete and coupons need to be shown up front. The tone of this conversation was a "tough luck" vibe. I asked he couldn't even let me know what specials are available and he said there's too many coupons to be aware of. I'm so triggered by the fact that I'm a loyal customer and I believe service advisors are aware of these specials to pass along. To have the excuse and say there's too many coupons to be aware of is complete BS when you know you have many services in a day. Despite the 10% discount, I paid more than the special price which also included more services. I can't believe what this world has come to. They seem to have a small inventory as you drive by from the street view. I was particularly looking for used vehicles. I contacted the dealership and they responded with questions that I questions about. So I replied back with more questions on a small used car. It seems they have a one set price like "CARMAX" as it was stated. So I was able to drive the car and it did ok so I continued to look at the engine bay, interior, exterior a bit more in detail. I found a few things that would definitely make anyone say hey, this needs fixing. As I brought those issues to there attention they still stated they have a one set price. So beware that if you find something wrong with used cars it does not matter since they had a one set price. I offered a few other alternatives that would be more acceptable for me to purchase the vehicle but they were ignored. So another sales manager contacted me and wanted to know what my " price" would be and they also stated the GM is too busy to engage in transactions. So with all this I am trying to work with them on the car but going nowhere. I should not have to pay that price for a vehicle with visibly known issues. read more

I was referred to Hanless Fairfield Toyota through the Costco Auto program and had a very poor experience with two dealership contacts: Brad Hayashi and Karla Mata. For Brad Hayashi, he repeatedly refused to answer direct questions. He lied about available inventory during initial outreach and then limited my options to a single trim. Also, he stopped responding after I asked about Costco Auto program pricing. In the past 5 days, I have received 5 AI-generated follow-up emails and texts from him. For Karla Mata, she gave conflicting and unreliable information over the phone. During the initial conversation, she mentioned she didn't know the Costco Auto discount as she was away from her computer. Within seconds she quoted $750 for the Costco Auto discount with a mandatory dealership add-on of $500, effectively reducing the discount to $250. Basically, she knew the exact Costco Auto discount pricing and add mandatory dealership add-on to make additional money on top. When I presented a price sheet from another Costco-authorized dealership offering $1,000 without dealership adjustment and add-ons, she insisted the maximum discount for my desired model/trim was $750 for local dealership through Costco Auto program. She said she would confirm and call back. Unsurprisingly, she never followed up with me. Please stay away from this dealership at all cost. They will try to scam you. read more

I literally brought the part in and showed him on the computer which part it was. The part that i needed was black and the ordered part is fucking blue and not even close to the physical make up of the part i needed. ****False Service Advertisement *************I received a call yesterday offering a discounted service package for my car, even though I hadn't requested service. The deal sounded reasonable, so I scheduled an appointment for today. However, when I arrived, the actual price was suddenly about 40% higher than what was originally quoted over the phone. After showing the coupon and information provided by their employee, the response from management was disappointing. At first, they claimed the employee didn't work there, and later changed the explanation but still refused to honor the quoted pricing. What bothered me most was the attitude -- instead of acknowledging the confusion or trying to resolve it professionally, the interaction came across as dismissive and rude, despite me remaining calm throughout the conversation. I'm sharing this so others can be cautious with similar promotional calls and service deals. Hopefully this helps others avoid wasting their time dealing with situations like this. read more

I bought a $72,000 vehicle from these people and I asked for a tow hitch to put on it. After the tow hitch was put on the vehicle. I realize I could not access the foot release for the rear hatch when I called the dealership and say hey the foot release option on the vehicle doesn't work. They said we told you that when you put the hitch on and I'm sure no one told me that that's the first lie that they said to me Now after the fact, I'm using the car with a bicycle rack to go riding up the coast and I cannot physically drive the car to save my ass. It will not back in a straight line. It will not back to park. I cannot pack up in the driveway. The car keeps shutting down and locking up the brakes because the sensors are goingrat fuck crazy and the car is basically inoperable. He then passed his business card off to me, with two numbers on the card. I called both and evidently one is Daniel's personal number, which he clearly didn't appreciate me reaching out to. I called 11/28 and let him know who I was, and that my dad was who spoke to him the day before . He was short, told me he "had nothing to do with Toyota", and that I needed to call them. When I tried further explaining the situation I was hung up on. I ended making an appointment online, and when I showed up for my appointment, Daniel was at his desk at the front of the service area. I told him I didn't appreciate how he spoke to me on the phone and instead of a simple apology, he laughed and said he didn't know what I was talking about. I didn't get his coworkers' name that actually took care of me, but that employee asked if I wanted Daniel to service my car, to which I declined, and they both proceeded to laugh. Not sure why I still got my car serviced here but won't be coming back. They were sure to ask for a review though, so here it is! My wife and I recently purchased a 2021 Toyota RAV4 down the street at BMW Fairfield and brought it to Hanlees Fairfield Toyota for a pre-purchase inspection ($220) to have peace of mind. The car was returned to us within a couple hours with no issues. CJ, the rep who was helping us also notified us that the previous owner had purchased a maintenance package and hadn't used all their services and that we could bring in our car to other Toyota dealers to have it serviced for free (5x). He also mentioned that if the other dealers gave us any pushback to bring it back and he would take care of us and the services. A few months later I brought the car back to do our first maintenance service check- new oil, new oil filter, and tire rotation. The process was smooth and stress free; the only item that took some time and coordination was scheduling the appointment since they are a busy dealership and it was during the holidays. I appreciate working with CJ and his honesty, friendliness, and knowledge/expertise is well worth the drive (coming from San Mateo). I don't really make a review on a dealership but since Toyota service department happen to neglect some of it's work that has to be done & it's not convinient to drive in & out of the service department. Recently i ask my wife to drive our new car from them for the first oil change,tire rotation,inspection & infotainment recall software update.. I called Brandon and ask what maintenence is been done. He said all & the recall will take a day or two for the software to update and in my toyota app. I check the engine oil & is good,tires are in torque specs. BUT the maintenance reset by the Odometer,trip is not reset. in 500ml my car dash maintenence require will pop up & the sticker maintenence by the windshield is not replace.
