It turned out to be a wonderful experience-- the house is completely restored [1880s] and just gorgeous with many original antiques and fixtures. The owner is very friendly, and we chatted for ages about history, the area, books.. just everything. The room was decorated and lovely, the bathroom gorgeous and modern with plenty of towels and little soap things. Everything was very clean and quiet. In the morning, Jane got up early to make me a fancy breakfast after making up a menu of what I'd like, and we chatted some more, I could have stayed all day! Just lovely, and less expensive than a corporate chain motel. I go back tomorrow, looking forward to it. Recommended!!

It was a beautiful home and our room/private bathroom was wonderful(the Americana). Jane was very warm and welcoming and made us a delicious breakfast. The family room was very cozy with an awesome fireplace(the outdoor temp was 15 degrees!!). So glad we had the pleasure of staying here and turned out we were Jane's last guests of the season!! I was greeted with a smile and a cup of coffee, played frisbee with one of the dogs and enjoyed checking out the log cabin style interior of the place. I was able to enjoy a hot tub (during a cold rain, which was amazing!) and a fire under cover of a gazebo that night. I woke up to coffee and was served breakfast at the table, so personal and amazing! My smoker blew an axle, the owners came out with a tractor and spend a good amount of time before I left making sure that I was loaded and good to make my return trip. Way above and beyond! Everything is included in the monthly price, electric, sewer, water, but most electric boxes only have a 30 amp socket, which sucks if you don't have an adapter, and she has a list of things you can't do/use because you're on their electric. Plus, the tree we were under released big heavy seeds on us the entire summer, not even exaggerating. Pretty at first, annoying after a month. The town, Friendship, is really small, but there's a good diner, TC's right in town...great food, cheap prices. Besides that, the area is good for antiquing and festivals and wine tastings, but thats about it for fun.
