Location is OK, right next to an expressway and train tracks, but the noise level was fine. Staff was friendly and helpful, check-in went well, breakfast in the morning was being refilled. The room itself was nice, clean and well set up. There was good bed and linens, microwave, fridge, coffee maker, TV and even a nice little sitting area. Decor was fine, nothing special, but good enough. Heating/AC worked fine and overall this was a nice place to stay. Bathroom was clean and roomy. Now for a bit of nitpicking. The view from my room was to the front canopy. The room had no USB ports to use in charging my phone or any other modern electronics, at this point I have come to expect that all I need is a USB cord. The lighting in the bathroom was a bit dim to my liking. The breakfast overall was fine with some nice touches, however they were out of quite a few items: no regular tea, no yogurt, pancake machine not working, and no hot cereal. Holiday Inn Express is one of the more expensive hotels in Bradford, while the hotel is clean and not a bad place to stay, however they need to pay a bit more attention to the small details to justify the cost. Fine place to stay but probably not the best value in Bradford.

We stayed here recently on a Friday night after hoping to see air balloons over Letchworth SP. The…read moreinn was easy enough to find since at least the GPS still worked to guide us to the inn. No phone service in most of Letchworth, and no internet access also. If not for the free wifi at the Inn, we'd be lost in space! After a quick tour of the inn in which they also mentioned the future work to be done on another floor of the inn, we turned in hoping to take a hot shower after standing and walking all day in the hot sun. 2-3 mins no hot water in the shower. More time and still NO hot water. Opened the faucet in the sink for over 10 minutes and NO hot water. Went down to ask about it, and nobody was at the desk. No hot shower so went to sleep in a grimy skin. At least the bed was comfortable. There was a ceiling fan and this was the first ceiling fan I've ever seen outside a personal residence, and the blades were clean! But looking around, yes, the place is old and needs a lot of loving attention to detail, as there are scrapes, cracks and peeling something all over. There is dust everywhere and I am allergic to that everything. The hot water is nonexistent tho water pressure was good. Then we wondered IF the plumbing was lead! My wife went down twice for tea and after she left twice, the door popped open all by itself, apparently needing a strong pull to be sure it closes with a click. There is free wifi which helped us greatly in planning for the next day, and as we drove off, in helping us get not lost! We also thought the very light grab and go breakfast was a bit too light, and a nicer sit-down breakfast would have been appropriate, considering the cost of the room. I am sure if they give a bit more attention to the many details of the structure, a decent breakfast and overall the business itself, and the many many rooms, they just may enjoy more occupancy!!

We recently spent 4 nights at the Saxon Inn as we celebrated the wedding of a close relative. The…read moremain feeling one gets with the Saxon Inn is similar to a B&B in that the staff is very attentive and personable and the inn is gorgeous in a gorgeous setting. Naturally the rooms are hotel rooms and the breakfast is a cold one. The first and last days of our stay (Thursday and Sunday) were quiet as the main group of wedding guests were not present. The town of Alfred pretty much shuts down during the summertime which explains the lack of guests. The staff at the Inn were extremely courteous and helpful. They made us feel very welcome even though we arrived after 10pm and were especially courteous as they got us our complimentary breakfast on the last day as there were only 3 guests eating breakfast. Once the wedding guests arrived, we took all the rooms in the entire hotel..and still we received patient and helpful service from the staff..amid all the special hot breakfast, chaos of parents, young adults, missing items, found items, etc. I would definitely recommend the Saxon Inn!

I shouldn't have to see another guest hair all up inside the bed sheets. The prior guest food was left in the fridge. The carpeting needs to be cleaned , stripped (new carpeting) or vacuum properly. The last time family and I stayed the room smelt like straight mildew. They have the cleaning lady fixing the breakfast. I mean come on now. That's really tacky and nasty. Do better Saxon Inn
