I've tried several nail salons in Staten Island over the past decade. When my wife started going to Hanna Nails I knew it had to be above the rest, since we drive in from NJ. All I wanted was extra length in a french tip. The guy doing my nails, I never spoke to me except to ask me what shape then got mad at me when he hurt me twice! Literally dropped his hands down and asked me if I was okay, then tried to explain that it wouldn't hurt me. I simply said I don't know what to tell you.You hurt me twice. He got irritated with me because I asked him to cut the initial nail a little shorter. Four of my nails are literaturely crooked, my fingers are so super glued to the nail.Underneath that he couldn't pry my skin away from the nail. No hand washing no lotion no nothing. He never even asked me if I was pleased with the job.He simply dropped my hand turned off the lights and said you're done. The other nail text seemed nice to their clients. Like the pedicures but I find the ladies who do nails in the front much nicer than the pedicure ladies.

I was overcharged for a service and didn't realize it until I looked over my receipt. When I called and asked about pricing for each service I had, each service was a different price and far less than my total. When I explained I was overcharged she said oh sorry, and to use the difference at my next appointment. I will never be going back as I feel as though they charge customers however much they want. read more

Excellent results!!! Super clean salon!! I went to Joy for Uv Gel extensions and beautiful hand design by Kay. The set actually lasted a full three weeks until the next fill-in, with my hands constantly in water washing dishes, typing on the computer for 9 hours a day, and handling the daily errands of a family of 6. I will continue to drive 30 mins away from my house for my nails. Pedicures--- The massage are awesome and lengthy, but be weary of the new people in training doing them. On one occasion the girl used a callus shaver/remover on my foot and sliced right into the skin. I bleed and bleed. Appointments-- I do recommend making an appointment and to stay away during busy times (weekends & evenings). Went there a couple of weeks ago, my friend suggested their pedicures ($25) - there was a sign that pedicures were now $30, I thought, hey I'm worth it. SCAMMERS!!!!!! I went in to get a full acrylic set yesterday.. They did a basic job... Prior, I went on their Instagram and showed them exactly what design I wanted. They first told me ok, no problem... Then at the end they told me they can NOT do it because it would take too long and they were closing. I said fine because it was super awkward sitting there with no music and all the workers speaking their language. I went to go pay and the owner said $78.. I almost fell off my chair!!!!! I argued back and forth saying I asked for regular tips but they insisted they put "special" tips on. It was disaster!!! They were rude, Unprofessionals, scammers and only wanted money. I just started going to Hanna towards the end of 2014 because my old nail salon's gel mani's didn't last. I go to Kay each time for gel mani's & he's fanatic. He's so nice & very creative. I usually give him pictures of what I want & he does exactly as the picture. Or sometimes I just tell him to do whatever he wants & he does a great job! The gel manicures range. If you just get a regular solid color its $25.00. I'd you go crazy with designs & colors it can get pricey but well worth it. I'm always getting compliments on my nails & they definitely last the least 2 weeks & the most 3 weeks which is great. I always make an appoint though because Kay seems to always be in demand. With an appointment the most I wait is 5 minutes if he has someone in the chair. Pedicures are the best too. I don't go to anyone in particular, to me they're all good. They do hot stones & the hot wax on the bottom of your feet. The pedi's take forever. So if your going to relax its great, if you're in a rush - I'd skip the pedi. read more

Gee and Linda are amazing! A lot of bad feedback since Kay departed; wondering if this is so he take his clients elsewhere. I love the pedicures and I love the gel manicures. I will continue patronizing this place now that the younger kids no longer monopolize and gather here. Midweek is less crowded; they are closed Sunday. I am baffled by this salon. Aside from the gnats flying all over the place, there were at least 3 people going back and forth working on my nails rushing through the process. The store itself is dirty and makes me feel very skeeved out. Let me add too that it is extremely overpriced. When I asked how much the total would cost I was told 50$. Just for a fill in! Meanwhile I ended up paying 68$ total because my design costed a whopping 18$! Thats just ridiculous. I paid some of my total with a gift card (25$) and the difference was 43$. I handed the women my charge card and when she gave me back the paper I noticed it was $46, I asked her why I was charged an additional three dollars and she explained to me that they charged tax on credit, AFTER I WAS CHARGED! I am so disappointed because this used to be my favorite salon. Definitely will not be returning nor recommending. read more

This place absolutely sucks. They only do UV Gel and "Powder" so that you have no choice but to spend a fortune. And then when you do powder because you can't afford UV Gel bc it's so expensive they screw it up so badly that it's beyond repair and your nails look worse than when you walked in. Then they have the nerve to overcharge you for a busted manicure and pedicure. In addition to this they're terrible at their job not only because of that but because they cut into your skin and cuticles. Once you say ouch once or twice you'd expect them to go just a bit easier on you but no they continue to have absolutely no sense of direction with their tools. I have been a customer with Hanna nails from the day the day it opened. The owners are phenomenal (Jee and Linda). They remember your name and go above and beyond to make sure you are happy with your experience. They have wonderful people working for them. If I could rate Hanna nails 10 stars I would. I highly recommend their pedicures and gel manicures. I think there's something to be said about a store being open 15 years and still being just as dedicated to their clients as the day they opened. Went with my daughter for some"girl time'and was so disappointed.They were short staffed so I was told one of us would have to wait 20 minutes.i started and 30 min later they put my daughter 3 chairs away from me to get her started,after complaining,they moved her next to me and while the manicurists started working on my daughter,she talked on her cellphone for several minutes,then she walked away,wanting my daughter to wait for yet another girl to finish,my daughter was so frustrated that she did not want to complete it at that point! I came to Hanna to take advantage of their September $40 special - pedicure and gel manicure. The pedicure was amazing. The girl took her time and massaged my feet and legs for a long time. I love the pedicures & most of the technicians work very hard to give an excellent, lengthy massage. HOWEVER, the customer service and overall lack of feeling welcomed really take away from the experience. The owner is busy & also has clients (understandable) but is never cordial to guests. I tip very well & don't mind paying extra for a good pedicure (which hanna has) but I'd like to be greeted kindly and appreciated for spending my money there. I've been doing the powder dip for months & have gone to 2 salons who do them great and they last me up to 4 weeks easily. They are rude and nasty and gave me an attitude when they made me wait an HOUR for a pedicure. I've been going to Hanna's for about a year now and I've never had a problem. I have always had great pedicures until today. The technician that did my pedicure had no idea what she was doing. The massage was mediocre but I didn't mind. However, when I had to take the nail clippers from her and cut my own nails, that was the last straw.
