Terrible service. I came here because i wanted to take off acrylic nails i already had on to avoid any damage to my nail beds and only ended up worse than if I did them myself at home. Firstly, the lady who did my nails tried to wedge off my acrylic nails with a METROCARD. She literally yanked and shoved the glued nail off my real nail and ripped off the first layer of my nail. I had to ask if they had acetone. She gave me acetone but didn't properly allow my nails to soak and used a plastic nail tip to wedge into my nails and she ripped off all my nail beds. It was painful and she didn't seem to care. At some point one of my nails started bleeding and instead of cleaning the blood, she tried to file it with a filer causing more pain. She then proceeded to try to buff it even though the layer was already thin which just caused the buffer to burn me. My natural nails were long and perfectly shaped and she cut them without asking me and cut them horribly. Never coming again. read more

This is my all time favorite nail salon I been getting my nails done for over 25 years Sammy and Maggie are the best and there co workers are decent too everyone is very friendly and welcoming love their professionalism they have masks if you forget your mask and have the best designs and most designs are hand painted 1 of a kind and they will alter the design and colors however you like the prices are reasonable a little more pricey than average but well worth it love love love this place they have a customer for life I tell everyone about this place read more

Well first I want to say that Sammy and his nail art is amazing. He's a very nice guy and i would go to him ONLY if i ever stepped foot in this place again and he is the only reason i give one star. As for the pedicures and everyone else ? I will never ever go back. They tore my feet apart. Lady with orange hair (sorry i do not know her name) tore my actual big toe nail apart. Originally i went 3 weeks ago and had a small little chip on the top of my nail so she offered acrylic and i said okay to it and added gel color on top. Mind you it was far from the greatest pedicure i got but i wanted to give them a second chance. When coming back to have the acrylic removed since the small chip had grown out- she went to remove with a metro card and lots of electric filing. I was saying ow that it hurt too much and she kept trying and my actual nail lifted and tore. Other than that the actual pedicure she gave was sloppy, lopsided, and the worst pedicure i have ever gotten. I was bleeding. She then tried to cover it up and say it was because i had an ingrown nail but thank god i took a picture and showed Sammy myself. it was not an ingrown but her actual lack of knowledge that lead to this. She then said it was still fine to put color on it but i woke up this morning with burning in my toe and massive pain. I went to a different salon and then removed everything and said it's due to an infection starting and she was supposed to let the nail breathe and not try to cover up her mess. My nail tech did a good job with shaping my nails. BUT I had to assist her the entire time. She was rushing and missed a lot of things. So I had to tell her to go back and fix it. She wasn't painting to the top of the nail so it would look like I need a filling already. The sides of my nails wasn't painted as well. The pedicures are HORRIBLE they rush the entire pedicure all they do is cut and file your toe nails then wash and paint your nails. There was no massaging or cleaning really. read more

I love this place and have been to many on the island but this specific spot has my attention. Vicky is pretty awesome when it comes to shaping & doing nails. They are very friendly and take care of you the best they can. I've done my nails here and my pedicures as well for the past 4 months and am very happy with the results each time. The prices are also very fair and decent compared to other places in Staten Island. They are also very quick so your in and out, I hate places that take three hours of your time when you just want a quick fix (lol). read more

It's not easy to find a nice nail salon around here. Since I move here. I been here so many times. They're fast and they have so many gel colors and polish. The place is clean. I go to here and have always been more than satisfied now have my entire family going as well. I did My gel nail and they came out great. It still look nice after two weeks. I will return again. There's good news and bad news. I'll start with the good. My nails look great and it was super cheap. This nail salon offers brows for $6, manis for $7, pedis for $14 and gel nails for $20. The bad news is that this is not the place to go if you're looking to relax in a salon environment. It is very small and very loud. One of the nail techs (I think she was the manager or owner) had a fit when a customer paid with a credit card. She yelled at the other tech that she shouldn't accept the card and that she should tell customers to use the ATM instead. Although this was all said in a foreign language, it was easy to decipher because she was writing down the credit card transaction and pointing to the ATM and back at the credit card machine and yelling. I was embarrassed for the customer. How rude! Thank goodness I had cash. I also felt like the owner/manager (I don't know for sure but she seemed like she was the one in charge) was rude to her nail techs -- verbally abusive. And talk about loud! She was making my head hurt. And she was saying things to what I assume was a long-time customer: you're boring, you always like that same color, you know I don't like you but I'll do whatever you want. All of the other techs seemed very nice. The salon looks like a start up, very cheap, which always makes me wonder about hygiene. Anyway, I'd probably go back since it's super cheap and my nails look nice. But I would not go here if I wanted to treat myself to a nice, relaxing, spa experience. For that, I'd go to Nail Essence which is more upscale. read more

This is the best nail salon on Staten Island. I've been coming here for years! The prices are good and they are CLEAN! I went to a different nail salon for the first time and got a bad infection. After it healed, I came here and really took their time to make sure I was comfortable, they used new tools with me and are accommodating for whatever you need. read more

They don't deserve any stars!!! came a week after my fill-in from them to get 2 nails fixed. As soon as I walked in I sensed an nasty attitude from the Chinese girl in the photo. She was rough when removing the rest of my acrylic. Then upon adding the new nail she applied it crookedly. I brought this to her attention she reply in a VERY RUDE WAY. "You need to wait until I'm done then you can see what I am about to do, it's the cuticle I am lining it up with" she was extremely nasty. I told her I was leaving because this is no way to treat and talk to paying customers. She said, good I don't like black people. Meanwhile this is my country I am American you can go back to Asia if you don't like black, I said this as I I left. Then she chases me outside with a shovel! At the same time the male in the photo spit at me in front of my kid sister, then yelled at her, a child!. These people should not work in NYC if they don't want to service blacks. read more

The employees are rude & rush doing your nails. The money you're paying for a pedicure or tips isn't worth t because they do a pretty crappy job. On top of the fact that you get treated very poorly. In spite of it being not the prettiest salon, I was a faithful customer of this salon for about 4 years. Over the last year the service has gone totally down. The tech Chen is skilled but his wife, tech Alina is constantly yelling at him and other staff. She's just plain rude and loud for no reason! It's effected his work and makes for a very tense, uncomfortable atmosphere for many customers. I say that because my coworkers stop going here as well for the same reasons. They do still do pretty good brows though, but not worth me visiting the salon again. Pedicures are hit and miss and they don't do cuticles. When you're will to pay really good money (I'd spend upwards to $180 plus tips for nails, pedi, brows, lashes), you want quality service and a nice experience. read more

I have given them a try for my nails about 3 times and twice for a pedicure. I decided on using Cindy Lee for my filling and gel. She's pretty good and pays attention to detail. That's the good. Here's the not so good the pedicures are mediocre at best not to mention I was very uncomfortable with their cleanliness. They don't seem to use sterilized tools and the towels they use are washed and then hung up to dry. It would seem necessary to put the towels in a hot dryer to kill germs. Go at your own risk. For me it's a never again. They also use the same foot scrubbing block on EVERYONE!! read more

Where do I even begin with this place . Today I went in for my second visit , unfortunately it was not pleasant at all . My pedicure went fine , she didn't scrub too much it felt a bit rushed . I don't think the woman has been a nail tech for long . On to the gel manicure from the Devils home !!! I picked a beautiful design all was great until I asked for price so gel manicure is listed 20 bucks but apparently if you pick a certain color they add 2 dollars so 22 dollars for a regular color if you ask me . The design with stones they wanted to charge 18 dollars for to me that was super unreasonable given I would pay literally 4 more dollars for another gel manicure lol . As I'm questioning it the young manager tone and response was " well you can just not do it " that's obvious as a customer I was voicing my opinion which she clearly didn't like . As I'm writing this I'm currently sitting in a different salon doing my gel manicure over . The gel manicure done at Y Nails is lifted, sloppy and stuck to my skin . Horrible , I know why am paying again for something they should fix ? However , when I stated I wasn't happy and showed them why I was being ignored and huffed and puffed at and I know in their language they were talking about me ! Rude and unpleasant . Unprofessional on so many levels . Oh and I was charged extra to use my card "taxes" I'm sure that's their way of getting customers to pay for their credit card merchant charges .
