Over the last few years, my bestie used to tell me about how amazing the produce and selection are at this grocery store. And while that's not entirely hyperbolic, there are a few caveats one should be aware of concerning said grocery store. For one thing, they have online ordering, which is great! Thing is, they don't exactly contact you after placing an order to let you know that your order is ready for pick up. Basically, you just choose your time slot, place the order, then are expected to just...show up at your prescribed timeslot. Not really a huge deal. But it's a bit of an adjustment compared to the online ordering procedures of Walmart groceries. No checking in via the app, unfortunately. Also, this pickup service is way slower and stranger. For instance, you don't even park in a designated pick up spot. Instead, you pull up to what can only be described as a drive thru situation with no speaker box to talk into. Nah, evidently you just call the store to let them know you're there for an online order, along with which car position you're in at the time. Although I almost didn't catch that second part the first time around because I could barely understand the words coming out of the lady's mouth. That's another thing. Depending on who's delivering your groceries, you might get a young man capable of lifting up to 10 grocery bags at a time, or an elderly person who looks like they're about two weeks shy from retirement. At any rate, you gotta have patience with this service. One thing I like about Hannaford is their choice of grocery bags. It's like we're getting the best of both worlds here. That is, a paper bag with handles like the plastic ones. It's a nice touch you don't see too often in grocery stores. Oh, side note! The steak cuts here are legit! So far, I've only purchased the prepackaged rib eyes and they grilled up very nicely! We're talking juicy, thick cuts of steak with plenty of marbling. Naturally, they have a fresh meats and seafood counter as well. But....I didn't really feel like doing all that. At any rate, I believe this will be my go-to for picking up groceries for the most part. I still go to other stores to pick up brand-specific items as well. But as far as Hannaford is concerned, I'd grant them 4 thick, juicy fresh rib eye steaks ready for the grill out of 5. read more

The store is confusing. They have recently remodeled the store. It is now so much worse than before. Nothing makes sense. It's so much more expensive than ANY other grocery store, but it was convenient to run in and get a few things. No longer. I cannot buy vegetables because they are now so high on shelves over my head, that as a disabled person, I cannot reach them. I'm guessing short people cannot either. What were you thinking? Apparently you were not thinking. I haven't seen the regular employee in the seafood department lately. Now I have to deal with people that have no clue. Why? And they could not be more rude. I also use the pharmacy. Each month I get the same prescription. Every single month for at least the last 5 years. Today was the 2nd time that they do not have any. Why? If I get this every month, shouldn't they know that and keep it in stock? The woman I spoke with at the pharmacy was so rude when I asked that question and then she hung up on me. What? They have a good selection but are grossly overpriced. The drawbacks grossly outweigh the benefits from shopping here. 1. Regardless of what time of day or night you try to shop, you can count on it to be the biggest gaggle fu_k of your day. They are forever trying stock the shelves during the busiest time of day. Actually had an employee throw a tantrum because I had the audacity to shop while he was trying to restock the shelves. The people here shop like they drive, always in a race against everyone else. Never a pleasant shopping experience. 2. Pizza counter is always a shit show. They love to prepare pizzas and sell them by the slice. But the store actively advertises specialty pizzas and full pizza carry-out prices. But when you go to order a full pizza for carry out, it's the biggest inconvenience. They make it clear it's not a good time, there will be a considerable wait time, etc. I'm okay with that but God's sake take the monitory ads down and stop advertising like you want to make those sales because obvIously business is good and you're good with turning away money. Regarding my last comment in #2, I'm happy bringing my money elsewhere. Your employees are unmotivated which screams you have poor management. read more

I was really disgusted after finishing a full grocery shop at 930 pm to find out that the one lane open was a 14 item or less and they refused to check me out. I'm not really sure what they expected me to do. Go through the self checkout? That isn't realistic with the amount of items I was buying. Hannaford Supermarket is on the far side of Nashua, out by the high school&Mine Falls State Park. It's by a housing development, but seems way off the beaten path, unlike most supermarkets. For the most part, their curbside service is excellent, with a dedicated lane as well as dedicated parking spots. They have high quality products, like Polar Seltzer, fresh apples, dairy, you name it. Online ordering is a simple process. The racism has improved over time. This is high praise compared to how bad it used to be before. Previously this place used to look like California, but with an atmosphere like Germany in 1940 if you are of the right color. Now, the people seem friendlier. I suppose things have changed. They have Live lobster, local brand drink: Bra harbor blueberry soda ( it better then Eli brand) coca-Cola coffee. More items than regular supermarket. The automatic refill program works sometimes. I have two prescriptions I am out of but I wanted to wait and see how long it takes them to figure it out. On another, they shorted the prescription by 10 pills. So much for "double checking." This is too far to travel to save a few cents on eggs. The rest is not worth the trip. read more

The one star is for the hardworking cashiers and stockers that work here because they are very nice and helpful. The front end customer service at this location is the absolute worst I have seen in my life. Don't try to return anything or else they will interrogate you (even with proof of purchase) and heaven forbid you inquire about the double-back guarantee, they will explain to you it's based on managerial discretion which is absolutely not true! I watched this "management" gang up on a handicap elderly woman because she was returning an item for $5.00 and that was with proof of purchase! The woman was in tears as the 3 managers told her she was "lying" about the item's quality and when she replied that she was gonna tell her family and friends to not shop there male manager said to her "are you threatening me?" I was so blown away by the rudeness and disrespect. I wanted to hand that woman $5.00 myself just because I felt so bad! Instead she left there in tears because they were so hard on her! They should be ashamed of themselves for treating that woman that way! From now on I will drive the extra miles and shop at the Hudson Hannaford. At least there they treat you with respect. I shopped here for 10 years with no major issues, until I tried their curbside service. Their prices are decent and their meats and produce are better quality than Market Basket. On average I spent $600-800 a month there until they royally effed up their curbside service and further made the situation worse with horrible customer service. The short of the long of it: they never had my order done, never bothered to come out and tell me as I waited (I had to call them from my phone from the curbside pick up despite them having the intercom system), then finally said "we are busy, we don't have it done". I drove off. After 24 hours I sent corporate an email of the experience. No reply for 2 weeks, and it was a canned reply of "we are sorry and will contact the store". Store customer service emailed me a month later with a sorry/not sorry reply. No offer to make things better- and I would have been satisfied with a waived curbside fee on the next order! I go to this place several times a week on my lunch break because they have great lunch selections (awesome salad bar, great stir-fry station, good sandwhiches and an awesome wing bar). I never thought I would like a grocery store so much that I would use it as my primary location for lunch. As far as the rest of it goes, the meat and produce is as fresh as it gets and they have a huge selection. They can be moderate to a little pricey but far cheaper than Shaws so I am happy. read more

Wow--a box full of veggies and other plant-based goodness, stir-fried in either peanut or vegetable oil (I choose peanut) and with a choice of sauce (Szechuan all the way). And for the low price of $4.80, and that's including NH meals tax. Who needs to eat at Chunky's during the movie when Hannaford's is quite literally a stone's throw away? You are my official grocery store of choice. Decent parking, good layout, awesome selection, good prices and as a bonus beer & wine selections. The produce section is huge and carries everything you would expect and then some for a grocery store. There are plenty of organic selections as well. The bakery section is also very good although I wish they would make more whole wheat selections. The wine section is surprisingly good and I have found more than a couple gems for good prices here. The cheese section is awesome. They carry a wide variety of selections including a bunch of small batch local cheeses from MA & NH along with all the usual imported suspects. Next up is the natural section which has tons of good selections including health & beauty selections. So I can get food as well as my non-petroleum hair gel and aloe based toothpaste for cheaper than anywhere else I have seen that carries them. The beer section never has anything too out there, but the price is good for packs of more common things I like such as Sierra Nevada, Tuckermans, Smuttynose, Miller High Life, etc. The other things I like here are the organic cage free eggs for a price that doesn't bankrupt me and that they carry Oakhurst dairy products which I prefer over Hood or Garelick. Hannaford has better produce, they have more vegetarian/vegan choices, and are cleaner and more organized. I don't know why people say the prices are good here. Market Basket is so much cheaper. I only go here if I need just a couple things. They also do not open enough registers sometimes. At 10 pm one night there were two lines 5 deep. They didn't open up a register until I literally said "Are you guys blind? How about opening a register?" My friend took me to shop for Asian food products at Hannaford Nashua when I visited her. The store is nice and clean with good selection of authentic Asian food products that she has to normally drive to get from Lowell or Boston. Love the Sushi, seafood, and produce here too. Now my friend can cook Pad Thai, Tom Yum soup, and Vietnamese summer roll for my next visit. They have the frozen Asian food stuff too. I found the frozen coconut juice cup there. Yummy! read more

If you love growing old waiting in line this Hannaford is for you. I made the mistake of popping in to Hannaford this evening to grab a few things. I arrived at the checkout and the line was snaking back to the grocery isle. My theory is that they are trying to force the customers to be their own cashiers via the self checkout, so they can hire less people. The only way to do that is beating you down and wearing you out waiting in an endless line. I call it walmartification. I admit that Hannaford never won me over as a customer and after tonight I will avoid them like the plague! I was forced to abandon my shopping cart, I admit I did get a certain satisfaction in do that. I can only dream that they go the way of Stop and Shop in N.H. and get replaced by Wegmans. As Hannford gives the metaphorical middle finger to customers like me, let me give it right back to you Hannaford. read more
