You can get a full cheeseburger for $3, fish sandwich for $4, $5 pounds of flavored chicken, tons of sushi options and tons of food options. Its basically a hidden restaurant within a grocery store! You can google their expansive sushi menu, which is 2 pages, and the rest of their menu is about 5 pages. This is counting the "made to order" stuff; the prepackaged foods aren't even on the menu. They probably have a solid 12+ pages of offerings. This isn't even counting the fresh sliced cheese and meat you can get over at the butcher or deli. Market Basket has a lot going for it. read more

I went to the meat department and wanted to ask about the turkeys and such and this wornen kinda big boned big back side long black /brown hair with name tag that said Melissa. Was quite rude I wanted to know if there was a certain size and about how long should I keep it out if it's frozen. Any questions i ask she signed like I was bothering her. People like her should not be working there if they can't be pleasant with customers. Their prices are good. The problem is that every time I go there I get overcharged for something. I check my receipt when i get home, and I ALWAYS are overcharged for at least one item. This time I bought one of the swordfish kabobs, at $6.99 per pound. When I got home I realized I was charged for swordfish at $12.99 per pound. That's $3 overcharged, from the extremely rude person working in the fish department. I will continue to shop there, but I will be careful to watch the pricing and expiration dates of everything I buy there. I want to preface this by saying I actually really like the Market Basket grocery stores, but this one should be avoided if possible. They have not taken the pandemic seriously from the jump, and they constantly have at least a half dozen employees that wear their masks under there nose or on their chins. It's bad enough when the customers do it. The worst part however is one of the managers NEVER has his mask on. I know people need food, everyone does. We went late afternoon. All the isles were market one way, which is a good idea.. but market basket employees really didn't have masks or gloves. Same thing with shoppers coming in. They don't care if the spread the virus, they don't care about themselves or anybody else. Market basket should post a sign, no mask, no gloves NO SHOPPING! Market Basket shopping is 'shopping local.' This is a local chain with management that works there as a life career. They stock what sells rather than clutter the store with excessive variety. The very outdated parking lot is annoying- a maze that goes to a dead-end. I hope it will be redesigned soon. The prices are consistently the "sale" prices of other stores, and even better when there's a sale. I have never had trouble with customer service and there are enough employees available to answer questions. The seasonal non-food items they stock are almost all made in the USA! They have the traditional toys, like kickballs, sleds, and Nerf balls. New England local products are featured in end cap shelves and display tables. This is not a gimmick-based store, like Shaws is. Compare prices. It could save you money to pay for transportation to shop at Market Basket instead of settling for Shaws' high prices. read more

This Market Basket is closest to where I live, but I shop here only when I have to because it is always crazy busy. It has a good beer selection, but other Market Baskets in the area have the same thing. Because it is always so busy, the parking lot is dangerous. I stopped by to pick up a pie the day before Thanksgiving, and I was nearly hit five times as I walked to and from the store. I didn't even count how many people cut me off or pulled out in front of me when I was in my car. I preserve my sanity by frequenting the Hudson MB on weekdays. read more

My Wife and I went on a shopping "Gauntlet" to some outlets and other stores and stopped here to do a food order. My Wife was in the meat section and found a package of filets that was just too big for one meal. She asked the young man behind the counter if he could bet these cut into 4 pieces. This Gent brought then to another employee to cut them for us. I have to say that he cut them to perfection. We had two last night for dinner and might be one of the best cuts of tenderloin in years. I was in the Nashua area recently and needed to grocery shop, so I stopped by this location. I believe Nashua has 3 locations, this one is closer to the mall. Being just a few days before thanksgiving, it was pretty busy, but the same as the one in my hometown. Its a normal size with everything you can think of, and of course cheap prices, then you add coupons to that and you get even cheaper prices which is awesome! This particular visit they had wine tastings. MB usually never has any kind of sampling going on, I can count on one hand how many times in the past 20 years that I have seen it. So they had about 10 kinds of wine to try, and I ended up buying a bottle. They also sampled some cheese, but the woman looked like she hated her life and wanted to gouge out her eyes with her cheese knife, so I kindly passed by and didn't sample her. read more

Out of all the Market Basket locations in Lowell, this is the best one. There's an actual bakery here which is a plus unlike the other three I "used" to visit here in Lowell. Though I've noticed that they don't have a large selection of the cheaper end Beef cuts that I would usually get in the other locations. Also the reason it's not getting five stars is because just as everyone else has stated, it's super busy and the parking lot is a zoo. They keep the place pretty clean but no matter what time you go, it's quite busy. The prices are a little more expensive than the other locations also but I've noticed something interesting. The corn here is actually cheaper than the other locations and it's a biggie for me since I eat a lot of corn and buy it quite often. It's 5 for 1.50 here instead of 5 for 2.00 at the other places. Overall, it has its ups and downs but I like it.. hence the four star review. read more

I love this store! They have everything I need at the lowest prices. It's the only place I go to buy groceries (unless I'm buying in bulk). The employees are friendly, helpful and know where everything is located in the store. The manager is always on the floor greeting customers and the cashiers & baggers are fast and courteous. Their pizza (cooked in the store) is delicious and really low priced. So are their subs. They have the cheapest prices on fresh haddock that I've seen. I always buy their brands and am never disappointed (especially their soda and potato chips! Market Basket as a whole is okay. I prefer going to Aldi but the one I frequent doesn't carry a better selection on Meats and beverages. Now, as for "Markets Kitchen" I would do your best to avoid. The amount of negative encounters I've had with their kitchen staff is just uncanny. Every time I try to order something they feel as if they're being inconvenienced and this is not just one employee I keep dealing with, it's all of them. They don't know how to run a kitchen for individual orders of things that I didn't want sitting under a heat lamp from an hour ago or one of the several hundred rotisserie chickens. They make everything in an abundance and it sits there if it doesn't sell. If it's not there and you ask for it (for example a pound of chicken tenders) they always give some ridiculous and unrealistic wait time. Every time I buy meat it expires way before the sell date. I've taken meat home for it to smell and look rotted that same night. I have the same experience with the fruit and veggies. More Recently while shopping an employee mocked my girlfriends laugh. When we approached her about it she stated "you almost hit me with your cart". The problem being we never even passed her in the aisle. The manager claimed that she works there, however wasn't working at the time. So I reviewed the Hudson Market basket, because that's where I shop. but I have shopped at this location. the only reason I won't give it 5 stars is the parking lot. I know this is one of the older locations, I vaguely remember when it moved many many years ago, so I'll give it some leeway there. Here's the thing, when you drive in, kinda where the liquor store is, and you turn into the actual parking lot, and there's a LOT OF traffic and pedestrians, I feel like tere's going to be an accident every time. it's just too much going on at that one point in the parking lot. Other than that, the store is great. could probably be a little bit bigger, as it is crowded inside. but the price is right. I do like the Hudson one a little more, but a lot of that is because we shop a Sams club, so it just fits in with our Saturday morning routine. read more

Don't think there is a living soul in New England that doesn't know what Market Basket and their employees just went through. So this is probably for someone who just moved to the region! Usually shop at Hannafords in the area but they don't always have what I'm looking for so I came here last Weekend for a few things. Now I make it a regular stop each week. The store has a ton more groceries than Hannafords, the employees are happy, and it just seems like a good place to shop. This is my go-to when it comes to food shopping, you can't beat the prices and while the selection can be spotty at times, typically I get everything I need...or don't need. One of the best (or worst) aspects of Market Basket is the type of people that shop there, most are normal, but once in awhile you see a gem of a character that apparently feels they're the only person in the entire store at which point they find it perfectly normal to stop their cart right next to an employee with a cart stocking shelves and stand there because obviously nobody else needs to go down that isle. I've been going to this location since I was a kid . I'm pretty pissed off at this location. I had changed market baskets from Amherst Street and then Hudson to this convenient location down the street from my home. Today I am not so happy this is the Second time that I've had left a bag left behind. Yes this can be very minor but when you have errands and then you get home and take all the items out of the bag-that you then realize that some things are missing. I just want the employees to have a lesson to understand to pay attention to detail just make sure that all bags are put in the cart. Might not be a big deal to the employee but to me it was a really big deal to take time out of my day to go back and then I couldn't get a credit back to my credit card because they couldn't do that over the phone. So you can imagine by the time I got back to the location i was livid. I spoke to Kyle the manager and he apologize but I'm still upset. Market basket please pay attention to this and then make sure your employees are even more cautious the holidays are coming around the corner. Just saying . My cottage cheese, ice cream !, hummus, cold meats, eggs, etc. we're in my regular cloth bags.....there was no room left in my cooler bag cause it had dog treats, canned vegetables, tuna, baked beans, syrup, etc. packed in it !! This place is a shithole... they dont put stuff in your basket after you pay for it. Tonight, i stood in line at the sub department for 15 minutes. The kid was not to be found... there was a burger on the grill that an elderly gentleman had ordered. After the kids co worker went and told him to get to work, he told the elderly guy that the oil was now to hot to cook his fries so he will give him potato wedges. I generally like DW Nashua store and buy there meat and produce often. I can even find some delicatessens, BUT I do not want to hear from a cashier comments like"I would never eat tongue, unless you want to see me puke" (exact quote). I also do not want to be asked illegal questions about my national origin, my accent etc. If the stuff is properly trained, you never hear anything like that. Please, pay attention!!!
