Market Basket is a great store that I've shopped at for decades. I've saved a ton of money over those years, and have remarkably few complaints. I've shopped the store on DWH in Nashua for almost four years now. I agree with other reviewers that they are sometimes out of stock on items that I routinely buy, and they have discontinued items (like the MB tomato juice) that were staples for me. Sometimes their red delicious apples are old and mushy, and that can be frustrating. My most recent negative experience is that at least 50% of the time when I buy their 1% low fat milk, it sours within just a few days of opening. It's such a problem that I plan to buy my milk elsewhere from now on. I don't know if this is a store specific issue, but it's only become a problem in the last year or so. In brief though, MB is a spectacular operation. We can only hope that family conflict doesn't destroy what foresighted and hard working family members have built up over the decades. read more

I dunno why. But for some reason, I love this MB better than the one just up the street from my house. Maybe it's the way the store items are arranged. Maybe it's the fact that despite not having an in-store butcher shop, they still offer most (if not all) of the same meat produce neatly packaged on the shelf. Normally, I'd consider this generic. Believe it or not, however, the meat is just about always hella fresh! I don't like that there's no public bathroom in here though. Or if there is, I haven't found it yet. Perhaps it's hidden in the back somewhere. And...is it just me, or does it seem like the MB here always has way more registers open than the one on Amherst? Maybe the management here is better? Who knows? All I know is...it makes the extra 10 minute drive worth it. Don't let anyone tell you that all MB's are the same because they definitely aren't. How good or bad a grocery store is depends on a couple things: how consistently fresh the produce is and how efficiently their checkout lanes operate. KRIS!! Kris is an amazing boy at the register , he was so nice and i've seen him many times around the store doing different things or outside . He is probably one of the most productive employees there , those managers who just stand there talking about each other are so lazy looking . they look miserable and not awake. Looks like Kris gets to it. THAT BOY NEEDS A RAISE!! or needs to be promoted to upper management because he is perfect. he makes a difference in my shopping experience and it's awesome! definitely my go to store. read more

Market basket is a great store. Problem they just updated software on registers. they can not put ebt numbers in manually any longer . so if your magnetic strip is not working you can not shop there. Even managers had no idea that this option was gone. read more

There are some very good employees at the larger Nashua store. But, the very bad ones ruin it for the rest. Thanks to the fish department for always being great. Why can you not keep MB diet soda in stock? Is this the stock people who don't know the difference and just put anything they want on the shelves, or is it stupidity of the buyer? The other MB up 101a always has all the soda varieties. I asked a person stocking the shelves if they could check in back to see if there was any diet soda, and they said, "no" and walked away. She actually came back and told me I'd have to check with the buyer. What?? This week's deli turkey was bad when I got it home. I got sick. Never again will I buy the MB brand. The produce is often disgusting. Old, wrinkled, and overpriced for the lack of quality. Even the young man bagging my groceries was stupid. I asked him to make the bags light. I'm in an electric cart, so it should be obvious, but I know enough to ask. I got to my car and he had put ALL the cans in the same bag! Six (6) cans! I had to take them out one at a time to put them in my trunk. Please explain to those stupid teenagers what "LIGHT" means. The never have the 1/2 1/2 I want and when they do the mix it in with the other ones ,now this is their own brand of 1/2 1/2 ,next item sweet onions I was buying a small bag of them now they dont carry them any more WHY ,so far market basket they suck apple cinnamon pop tart no more dope apple dont have it,and the bakery you have to check the dates on all their products because their not fresh at all ,to bad that all the market basket dont really bake any thing it's all frozen,and I know I know nobody from market basket will get back to me after reading this and that's because they dont care and neither do I. Its a crazy mad house... At least its not Chelsea... I stopped in for Cigarettes for the Hubby and I love that they have a dedicated aisle for that so I was able to be In & Out, However its right next to the little spot where they put the Roasted Chickens... come in here every work day for lunch in the kitchen and almost always have great food and service. there is one employee who works in the kitchen making subs and burgers named amalia who just always looks miserable and puts sloppy food together with no manners and never a smile on her face wish they would have a talk with her or get her out of this department handling peoples food. read more

My fave MB. It's just enough off the beaten path to keep the riffraff away. The store layout is basically the same as any grocery store, except the all-important ice cream is not with the rest of the frozen foods but close to the produce. Good thing I like fruits and vegetables, or I'd opt for cookies and cream over carrots every time. The cashiers and baggers are usually friendly, though they often have every reason to be grumps. This MB also shares a shopping center with Marshalls and Homegoods, so it can't be beat for a thrifty shopping trip that combines the necessities (MB) with the fun stuff. read more

The very kind young woman checking me out in the 20 item or under lane was amazing. I can't remember her name but she had long dark hair and was only a first year. I was shocked! Customer service is fantastic and I will definitely be coming back to my favorite grocery store. The food I made with the ingredients was so tasty. Everyone who tried it commented on how delicious it was! When they asked for a recipe I told them to get all their ingredients at... you guessed it... Market Basket! I am high risk with a medical condition as i was shopping during the reserved hours for such. I was approached by a female manger who said ...." i have an odd question? Now im not going to kick you out of the store but, are you 60 and above?" I stated no and before i could continue she said " this time is reserved for 60+ so keep that in mind next time" i did not pursue the discussion stating that im high risk with a medical condition... she was looking for a fight and i didnt want to give her one. I live close to this Market Basket and have shopped there for 30 years. Lately I have found that this particular store runs out of items quickly. Almost like somebody in charge of orders are not doing their job. It happens with most of their 'sale' items but in the last few months it happens with food staples: Hood milk, Cabot butter, canned goods, certain soda. There are a number of items I used to buy that they don't stock anymore, but, I can find it at the MB on Amherst St (super store). I love the convenience of shopping at my Market Basket because the staff is friendly and try to help, but, if the food isn't there to buy it makes it inconvenient for me. Market Basket is a place for deals. They had sales ahead of Labor Day, which helped with necessities. They also give out free coffee. Their selection of frozen pizzas is amazing, as are produce, organic and not. Since this is New England, they have an extensive selection of ice creams, from the official ice cream of the Boston Red Sox to New England Creamery with flavors like Maine blueberry, Mt. Washington Peanut Butter Cup, Nantucket nutty cone, Cape Cod fudge shop, Mystic White Gold and Martha's Vineyard raspberry. They're the place to go for snacks, lunches, you name it. If you have necessities to restock, Market Basket is the destination. Friendly, helpful staff. If you're in the more rural parts of New Hampshire, this is the place to get set. read more

Nice staff, admirable leadership but lately I have had a bad experiences with the meats, poultry and seafood. I bought cooked lobsters for a dinner party that were either undercooked or rotten. Black liquid flowed out of them and they were inedible. The manager speculated that if they were the last lobsters left in inventory maybe they weren't up to standard. I recently bought meat and chicken that I tried to use before the expiration date but they were both rotten. On a forth visit I picked up a "sealed" turkey but there was an unexpected opening and the blood ran down my arms, clothes and shoes. read more

I love this store. The place is always very clean and they have a great selection of produce and meats. This is my go-to for grocery shopping. I drive by two other grocery stores just to come here! The staff, despite being pretty young, is always really friendly and helpful. I've seen countless people helping customers with groceries, getting to their car, and I even once saw a young boy carry an umbrella over an elderly woman when it was pouring out. They also still have the 4% total savings which is great! When they were on strike, I started paying closer attention to prices of specific items I buy weekly and I noticed quite a bit of difference, even up to a dollar less that you pay here as opposed to other places. read more
