There are many selfless employees working hard to provide our food. At 6:45 this morning, Tuesday, I was really discouraged and frustrated with so many shopping with a complete disregard for the necessary 6 foot safety protocol. There were not too many people to make this possible. A store employee name tag, pink sweater, breezed by me- perhaps 2 1/2 feet from me and I asked if she saw me? She laughed and replied, " I walk by people all day long", with another little laugh. I suppose some become angry, if they have to be there and if their exposed, you're exposed. A store supervisor approached several shoppers while bagging, easily within 2 feet, actually bumping into one customer. My take away is that is my risk to come here. My cashier was professional, fast and courteous. I thanked her for her service. I want to thank everyone trying their best to do what is right. I wish them good health and safety. read more

I don't think people who live in this area realize how great they have it with this Hannaford (clearly they've never been to the one on Forest Ave in Portland which is no less than traumatizing). It's tremendously clean! It's extremely well stocked! It's an easy to navigate floor plan! The produce is beautiful looking! The cheese area is abundant and beautifully maintained! People shopping here are neighborly to each other! Seriously, it's a very nice store. Sure, I'm one of those people who prefers the segregation of my Nature's Place organic and natural foods into their own area, but they do a solid job at clearly identifying the sections among the aisles that are home to those products. I will admit: I've never been here during the middle of summer, so maybe it is a lot more hectic and chaotic here. But your busy Hannaford during July is the Hannaford on Forest Ave in Portland 24/7/365, so perspective. No, the parking lot isn't the best of the Hannaford parking lots (I'd say Westbrook and Lewiston have those) - mostly because the entrance/exit is a bit constricted; and, inside, there could be more aisles open when cashing out, but I appreciate that the Self Checkouts were all working and moved quickly. All in all, Yarmouth is lucky to have such a nice Hannaford! read more

We stop at this Hannaford when we are passing through town, because it is pretty convenient to get to from 295, Rt. 1, especially during off season, and we are able to find our weekly grocery items at this location. Parking - it is a shared lot with a few other businesses and it is a shared driveway - it makes it a bit crowded and hectic. The parking lot can be a challenge to navigate whether you're walking through or driving through it. It seems that someone is always honking at someone. People don't really look carefully, so be on the lookout for reverse lights. The good news about the small lot, is that carriage racks aren't far from wherever you might be and i have NEVER seen a stray cart sitting out in the middle of the lot. The store seems smaller than most I have been in and is very crowded during peak hours, end of day between 5-6pm. I have found the quality of the produce to be great and sourced locally. They were selling Ricker Hill Farms Apples today. Great quality. The bakery and cheese section is where I spend a lot of time while waiting for the deli number to be called. One word LOCAL! Pigs Fly Bread, BIG SKY BREAD!!!! Debbie's Pies, Wicked Whoopie Pies and PINELAND FARMs cheeses!! I could go on and on, but you just need to come and see for yourself. The rest of the aisles and products are typical, until you get to the other side of the store, where there is an Agency Liquor store inside! It's a nice space, plenty of options of wine, spirits, beer and on occasion they have tastings. While they don't have rare/limited release beers, they do have a good selection of craft beer. Staff is pleasant for the most part. They work quickly to move customers through the lines. The only complaint I have is that their customer service desk, isn't really a customer service desk...it's a register and if there isn't enough staff and or they are busy, they close it and only run it as a checkout. Hence the 1 less star, as I really needed stamps, so much for my one stop shopping. I do recommend this Hannaford if you are in the area. Great products and good prices. Don't forget to bring your own bag to avoid the $.05 surcharge. read more

This review is for the Yarmouth, ME Hannaford. Today I switched Hannafords from Falmouth to Yarmouth. I had had unpleasant checkout experiences in Falmouth and thought the Yarmouth store might be more helpful. Boy, am I glad I switched! The Yarmouth store does not appear to be quite as large, but the checkout was less stressful. Where I was previously rushed and my produce bruised, today I was treated to the kind of customer service Maine used to be known for. A young man named Will went out of his way to ask whether I wanted the meat bagged, and if I found everything. I laughed and said, "no, but I've given up." I expected him to let the comment pass, but instead he insisted on looking up my missing items, and offered to send someone for the them. "It's no trouble!" I didn't take him up on it, but the thorough and thoughtful attitude was a really nice change. I noticed that his coworkers appreciated his help and that they worked as a team, as well. Will, your kindness is contagious and makes a simple shopping trip a pleasure! read more

Waited in the hannaford to go line for a literal whole hour. I had 2 bags of groceries. There is absolutely no excuse for this. Hannaford execs, please do something about this branch. The aisles are a maze of bins that have to be negotiated around, there is not enough room between the end of the aisles and the check out lines, self-check out is self-defeating and the store, in general seems run down and, in places, actually dirty. Large bins of almost-expired goods are everywhere. It's a mess. We have stopped shopping there although we did use the store for many years...now we go to the gleamingly clean and spacious Shaw's in Freeport. What a difference! read more

The most incompetent pharmacy in the area. Every time you show up to pick up a prescription they're "still working on it" and "it'll be 20 more minutes." Which is just an excuse for, "we know it's been several hours since it was called in, but we can't be bothered to even look at the order until you're standing in front of us." They couldn't see the prescription information on my insurance card and told me I gave them the wrong card until I pointed it out to them. And then they claimed my insurance company couldn't find me in their system, despite having the same insurance company and using it for other prescriptions for years. So I had to pay full price out of pocket just to get away from theses idiots. Do yourself a favor and find another pharmacy, I wouldn't trust them to point out which shelf the Advil is on. read more

I am obsessed with pandemic safety. This Hannafords has nailed it better than any other. The store is always neat and appropriately laid out. The staff is always friendly and helpful. I don't shop anyplace with a full parking lot; I would rather go hungry. There have been times when I didn't go in because of the number of cars in parking lot.. Everybody should do the same. Protect yourselves, don't go in crowded stores. Most of the time there is plenty of room to get around and check out is swifter then before the pandemic. Their Hannaford to go is awesome. While speaking with new friends we complained about Shaw's supermarket... their response was "SHaWS? WHo GOES tO ShAWs!?" We then learned the awesomeness that is Hannaford! Everything was clean and well laid out! Staff was friendly and the meats and produce looked fresh. Now when we travel to the northeast we don't even consider stopping at anywhere but a Hannafords! In addition, I would like to apologize to the Asian lady who didn't lock the bathroom when she was pooping. I thought the lock was broken... it wasn't... she just didn't use the lock. read more

The produce is OK, not great. The selection is OK, not great. What makes this Hannaford less than ideal is the management. They have increased the number of self-check machines, and sometimes the staffed check-out lanes are all closed. This is a problem because the staff are often too busy or not paying attention and customers have to wait a long time for help. They got rid of their customer service desk! It's like they don't care about their customers. Every time I go it's just a negative experience. Looking forward to getting my groceries delivered by a drone. read more

Recently, I bought 12 balloons here ($10.99) at the request of the detail-oriented bride and a Kleenex Pocket Pack ($2.75) that included 6 packs of tissues. I was in charge of making sure cars did not miss the charming - albeit secretive - location for the wedding and I thought I would cry a lot. All of the cars turned at the balloons and I did not cry at all... some of my friends did, though, and I was ready. A pocket pack of Kleenex is always nice to have around. You can get your blood pressure checked for free near the pharmacy inside. Apparently, I was exceedingly healthy at 11am on August 9. The grocery store felt a bit old-fashioned, which I kind of liked. I do remember, after stuffing 12 balloons into the backseat of a rental car, a fine 70-something gentleman parked in back of me and proceeded to yell at me that I was NOT PARKED THE RIGHT WAY. I was waiting for an old friend who was still in the grocery store purchasing tampons, and she was shocked to come out and find me -in formal wedding attire - in a fight with this spry gentleman. I just made things worse by suggesting that HE USE THE BLOOD PRESSURE MACHINE IN THE PHARMACY BECAUSE I WAS NOW WORRIED THAT HE WAS GOING TO HAVE A STROKE. The best I could gather, there are 2 spots reserved for people in a hurry. We took one of them and he took the other. The sign does not say you have to be OLD and in a hurry, but apparently everyone in Yarmouth knows that you do not use the "Quickie" spots if you are under 65. (I know there is a good joke in there, somewhere...) ANYway, if you are under 65 and do not feel like being verbally abused by grandpa, take heed. Later, I asked one of the Yarmouth attendees at the wedding about this and he said that there are rules, and I wasn't following them. These Mainers are very complex. I used to love Hannaford in Yarmouth - they had a big, comprehensive natural, gluten-free, and allergy-friendly food section, friendly and helpful cashiers, and a great produce section. They have a great produce section and friendly cashiers, but their entire set-up has changed. No more natural aisle, everything is "mixed everything together" - which means that they still have beans in 2 separate aisles "Latino" beans and "regular beans - but no one can find anything. No one knows where vegan options are, and finding less-junky cookies requires extra searching. The set-up changed a year and a half ago, yet cashiers and customer services have no idea where things have been moved. The aisle signs are uglier and look junkier. I'd now rather just go to Portland to Trader Joe's - which has better prices - than get hopelessly lost in Hannaford. read more

Best Hannaford in the area -I've been going here for over 10 years, service is always great and I've never had any problems with lines!

No sense whatsoever that the customer is important to this company. Ridiculously long lines, with only a few registers open even at predictable peak hours. When completing transactions, cashiers never say "Thank you." Even managers have been unpleasant to me. I live nearby, so can't avoid the place entirely, but I make a point now to shop at Rosemont Market, Shaw's in Falmouth or Freeport, or at Bow Street in Freeport. Sad to see so many shoppers feel trapped by geographic convenience when decency and respect are only a few minutes farther away. read more

If I wasn't so ill I wouldn't go in there at all. You'd think I was being deliberately bullied into not wanting to go in this store by how much stuff I've had to return. I had to return some deli chicken nuggets I picked up in a hurry, someone had already dipped one in sauce!!! Whether its ice cream that's partly opened, packaging on frozen already open, seasons not safety packaged properly - eating the food there is like Russian roulette. I don't think I've ever had to return food to a store once in my life till I shopped there. It must be nightmarish times we live in when even the grocery store isn't safe. read more
