The community has a nice layout and is clean and well kept. The grounds are serene and relaxing: a mix of (always green!) grassy areas, with flowers, trees, walking paths and intimate areas to sit and socialize with your loved one. It is also very secure, which is important in any memory care community due to wandering being a common symptom in those living with dementia. My interactions with staff couldn't be better either. Betsy, the Activities Director works hard to create an activities program that keeps residents physically active and mentally stimulated. You can tell she is dedicated to giving her residents fun, thoughtful experiences! I paid $7200.00 for his care for the month, he fell in the first week and I was returned less than 1/3 of what was paid. I will be seeking legal recourse.

Showers given to the residents at this facility is unhealthy. Residents go weeks without showering…read moredue to staff not thinking it is important. Even with 90% of residents moved out due to the outrageous increase in rent you would think they'd have enough time. This tells me the staff blatantly disregards there hygiene. My Grandmother had a rash all over her body for 4 months. The doctor said it was scabies. They did not assist her with her medication or care. Come to find out, it was not scabies. It ended up being dermatitis and it took another month for it to go away, with no help from staff. If a resident has a new ailment and medication is prescribed, that is the limit of attention to that resident . Arbor Palms does not go out of there way to make any resident feel welcome.
