This hospital provides both inpatient and outpatient care for health and medical services which includes an emergency care as well as surgical procedures. Staff from security check in and as well as other hospital employees are very pleasant and cordial in welcoming visitors !! In the past, when I went to Hoag for similar issues, the testing was less thorough and I waited longer before seeing a specialist. The care here felt attentive and proactive, and I left feeling confident about the next steps instead of uncertain. Very happy with the service and grateful for how seriously they took the situation.

Medical staff and front desk reps are very nice and efficient! Dr. Ruiz is very down to earth and extremely smart (also very thorough with your chart and any paperwork). I don't think I would ever switch offices or doctors unless they closed down LOL! Anyway, save your self some time in searching for the right doctor and come to Memorial Care of Huntington Beach. From the medical assistant to the person who drew my blood, everyone was friendly and made the visit easy. Everything moved smoothly, the office was clean, and I had a great experience overall. I also loved the waiting room--it felt open and spacious, and the view of the sky was really nice. It made the whole office feel bright and relaxing.

(Yes I had a list ). He ordered a bunch of tests and I followed up with another appointment. He again took the time to listen to me, go through the results quickly while providing me options , and made me feel respected. I feel like a person and not just a patient and I appreciate that!

The technician called my name and seemed somewhat rushed. After confirming my name and date of birth, they quickly applied the band and began the blood draw. As a former paramedic with nine years of experience starting IVs, I felt the technique was rough and not in line with what I consider best practice. The needle insertion felt uncomfortably steep, and there were multiple adjustments that, in my opinion, could have been avoided to reduce discomfort. The procedure was completed, but the overall experience felt hurried and uncomfortable. I believe the staff could benefit from additional training to ensure patient comfort and safety.

When I came in on Friday, I was in and out in just a few minites, which was great, and I didn't feel anything during the blood draw, but when I got home, my arm really started to hurt. I developed quite a bruise, and the pain has been pretty consistent. The bruise has worsened as time went on, and I've been babying my right arm. When I went back today (same phlebotomist), he tried to get blood out of the same arm, but interestingly, because I was so bruised, he did so on my forearm instead of the inside of my elbow (see photograph of bandage with cotton underneath on my forearm). I have an autoimmune disease, so I've been poked many times, and I've never seen this done before. Needless to say, it did not work, and it was an incredibly painful experience. We ended up having to get blood from my left arm anyway, so I'm not sure why that wasn't done in the first place. Now, my right arm is throbbing where the needle was pushed in and out repeatedly trying to find a vein, and it is radiating up my whole arm and into my shoulder. I wanted to love this place, but I think I'll probably go elsewhere for future bloodwork. Owie. :(

Vivante is amazing, there are countless activities, the amenities are very upscale and the food is something you won't experience anywhere else. If I could name the one thing that really sets Vivante a part from our past expedience, it would be the staff. The staff here is incredible, very professional, personable and caring. While what clearly was a life changing decision originally, moving into Vivante has proven time and again to be the best for both. Sadly, we lost our mom last month after an incredible fight she had been putting up for the past few years. Her last ten days truly showed us the incredible "loving care" by so many of Danica Coronel's TEAM. Now, over the years I have visited the facilities hundreds of times. I have gotten to know many of the caregivers, nurses, medtechs, servers, etc., and I have always felt good when leaving that my parents were in great hands. It is always clean and in good condition. We have enjoyed many great meals, met many residents & their families, and created some good memories (under the circumstances). Those "last ten days or so before her passing," REALLY opened my, and many of my family's eyes to the true depth of passion & caring of SO many of the Vivante staff (On the apartment side & especially in The Shores facility). From the smiling greetings by Jojo & Julie, the always positive Vince, Danica & Olivia, the incredibly joyful Alyssa (and mom Debbie), Krista, Ashlee, Elizabeth, Zoila, Jesus, Angela, Pilar, Irizella, Sara, lovely Aricelli who would make mom a nice cup of hot chocolate with a smile & warm words, to the cooks & servers, there are many more to mention. These past years have also opened my eyes to how difficult a job it is, especially to care for those with various stages/levels of dementia. If you are looking for yourself or for one of your loved ones, my entire family would urge you to look into Vivante Newport Mesa. The facility director then asked us to leave as we were "not invited" by the resident whose cell phone and address book had been taken away. Feels a lot like prison. Can't be good for our friend's mental or physical well being. Police were then blocked from doing a mental health check.

Rushed at that because she was late in seeing me for 2 hours. None of her staff informed me that she was going to be late. Maybe the reason why she was in a rush and the un-God ful painful treatment. She prescribed the wrong medication after consulting with another physician. She also ordered labs [full ovary and pelvic] ultra sound that was completely unnecessary. I am way past child bearing years, yet she justified the exam as though I was having a child. I suspect to get more revenue in the long run with unnecessary follow up exams that were also unwarranted. STAY AWAY if you are smart. Read her other reviews.
