After visiting this memory care community on various different occasions, I have to say it checks all the boxes for what one would want for their loved one. The community has a nice layout and is clean and well kept. The grounds are serene and relaxing: a mix of (always green!) grassy areas, with flowers, trees, walking paths and intimate areas to sit and socialize with your loved one. It is also very secure, which is important in any memory care community due to wandering being a common symptom in those living with dementia. My interactions with staff couldn't be better either. Betsy, the Activities Director works hard to create an activities program that keeps residents physically active and mentally stimulated. You can tell she is dedicated to giving her residents fun, thoughtful experiences! Stacey, the Marketing Director, is so sweet and enthusiastic in her desire to help you find a community that fits your needs and budget. Lastly, the care team has always given me time out of their busy days to answer questions and show me around. 3.5; Its been a little over a year since my Dad has passed. The facility did not return our calls after his death and it left a sour taste in my mouth. I still view the direct staff with the residents as very friendly and patient. This is a good place if your loved one is either completely able bodied or completely wheelchair bound. Anything in between and you really should have more one on one care. read more

It is important to us to find partners in the community that we trust, in case our solution (home care) is not what they want. We only work with people who we trust and people who care about what they are doing. We have had a very good experience partnering with Valley View Gardens. I walked in this place and there was a overwhelming smell of old powder and a bad perfume I felt sick instantly. Something-just didn't feel or smell right about this place. Be very careful . The workers seemed very friendly but I saw people sitting around looking out of it and it made me feel sad and gave me a sick feeling. I Will not be back with my loved one. read more

I would like to let all know who reads these reviews that Valley View Gardens is a great place to place your loved one. They have caring care givers and aids who attend to your loved ones needs. They have activities for those who can do singing, dancings, mind games to keep their minds sharp. There food they serve is very good. All made by a chef their on the premises. I have my dad there and he loves all the caregivers. My dad has dementia and this place is a good place for him. They can take anyone who's loved one needs to help live life. I recommend this for anyone looking to put a loved one where there care will be taking care of by the highly trained staff. read more

A Very Horrible Few Weeks When I decided to put my sister under their care, Jennifer was friendly and accommodating. From these interactions we made the decision to bring her here after reaching the level she could no longer be cared for in her home. But that was the best we saw from them. We brought my sister down from northern California, which had been her home for the last 50 years. Making her leave her home and taking her to a new unfamiliar location was, as most can imagine, very stressful for her and the entire family. After a long day of traveling we reached the facility on Sunday evening but there was nobody there to greet us and help her get situated in her room. Even though we told them we were coming and they expected us, we sat in the TV room for over an hour watching staff walk back and forth and nobody there to welcome my sister or any of us. We finally had to get up and start asking questions before we could get any assistance. Even after, they still ignored us until it was time to go to bed when a staff member came and impersonally advised my sister it's time for bed. My sister fell down within the first few days of being in the facility. She had never fallen before. Then within the first few weeks she fell a 2nd time and a 3rd time. The third time she fractured her pelvis and needed to go to a rehab facility. They still charged us $4580 for the 2nd month as well. Why? because we didn't give 30 day notice that she was going to leave!?! So in total her bill was $9,920 for maybe 3 weeks. The staff is basically dead eyed and unconcerned. Having a whole facility with everyone having dementia/alzheimers makes it very impersonal and disconnected. The staff did not appear to become acquainted with patients that can't remember them. Also, since the facility is for memory impairment and dementia, there are other patients walking in the wrong rooms, taking things that don't belong to them, and there was even one older patient who would pull his pants down. One lady groaned loudly at every meal. There was an entire drawer of patients' missing glasses, and many missing slippers. Staff treated these incidents as they were not extraordinary, but regular events in a facility like that. After rehab we did not take her back and put her in a Residential Care Facility in Fountain Valley where the staff there consisted of a couple who knew how she liked her coffee and what she liked to eat, and she never fell once fell in their care. We could rest at night knowing she was in good hands and taken care of. She spent her last few years with very personal care and attention and we had peace of mind. Do not leave your relative here unless it is someone you don't like and want to shorten his or her time on earth from neglect, indifference, and/or accidents. . read more

My Mom has been a resident for over 2 years now. Moving her to a facility was the toughest thing my family has ever done. If it weren't for the staff and the excellent care she receives, I don't know what we would have done. Every caregiver, administrator there has a heart of gold. They understand this disease and take inappropriate comments in stride. My Mom was a sweet woman, this disease has not brought out the best in her. Sorry, VV staff. They care for their residents but also the families. They helped me work through my guilt. I now know she is exactly where she should be. If you are thinking smelly nursing home, you will be pleasantly surprised. Every resident is up and dressed, unless ill, every morning. The food is great, the place is clean. All their needs are met, laundry, assistance as needed, etc. There is even a hair salon. The activities are almost constant. Betsy and Belen are wonderful! My Mom loves to be outside. The yard is secure but spacious, giving her a feeling of some independence. I highly recommend Valley View Gardens for your loved one. read more

This place has a nice facility and gives good holiday parties but that is where the quality ends. It is seriously understaffed and does not provide good personal or medical care for residents. By the time he left, our family member's teeth were falling out and he was infested with scabies. One afternoon, I saw feces smeared all over the floor by a med tech cart and it took several minutes to clean it up. The administration is TOXIC!! Rather than working with family members to solve issues, they blame and shame you and make YOU the problem! Don't bring your family member to this place!!! read more

Friendly and caring staff both in the front office and in the facility itself. Beautiful and clean complex inside and out. The rooms always smell fresh (which is hard to do with 60+ Alytimer patients). My mother has been a resident for over 18 months and has become very comfortable here at Valley View Gardens. Even though Jim (the site director) is a NY Yankee fan; he is a easy to talk with unlike other facility driectors I have delt with. My husband has been a resident for more than a year. The staff is wonderful. They work hard to maintain the residents' dignity. They treat everyone with kindness and compassion. My husband enjoys the freedom to go in and out on the grounds; he feels that he is at a resort. The grounds, gardens, and paths are well-maintained. The food is delicious and well-prepared. There are many in-house services available. I have not had any regrets about him living here. read more

We had to place one of our parents in a home about 4 years ago. Our family decided on Valley View Gardens. Valley View Gardens has been a wonderful caring place for our family member to live. I am giving this review 2.5 stars because in the past 4 months or so, things have changed. From the caregiving staff changing everyday/week, to the kitchen staff not preparing meals for the type of resident they are feeding, to the office staff not listening to family members. Our parent is still in good hands with the staff that are there because they care and enjoy the job of taking care of, and putting a smile on the face the residents. We have also noticed that family members are moving their loved ones to other facilities. Are we thinking of moving our parent? Yes! read more

This place is nice at a glance, got a tour last week... Honestly not a place where I would want my father to be. Management has really bad reviews on other sites for example: Glassdoor tells you about managment and their leadership is horrible. In my opinion place needs deep cleaning some of the walls are very unpleasant to look at and was only able to see two of their carestaff serving breakfast. I have written another review of this place but apparently you have to say only nice things for it to be posted. I want to say that the title CARE giver would imply that they CARE. My brother in law was recently removed from there by his wife and daughters at the recommendation of an OUTSIDE physician they hired because of the horrible condition he was in. They were not able too visit because of this Covid 19 thing. They were lied to when they would call.They were told he was doing good, eating and drinking. When he was taken out and examined, he had 3 pressure wounds, (bedsores), two of which covered both heels on his feet almost to the bone from lying in bed for so long. He had a baseball sized wound on his tailbone that had dead black skin all around it. He was dehydrated and had not eaten for a few days. The state needs to get involved with this facility so that the managers and caregivers have to answer to someone for their lack of care that was given to my brother in law and possibly others that were or are staying there without family being able to check on them. I would not leave a living thing in this facility much less a family member!!! read more

Did some research before deciding to tour the facility. Looking for a place with professional staff, caring management, and would treat my parent with respect. Went for a tour. The facility is very clean and the residents looked clean as well. The resident rooms were personalized, which is very good for Alzheimer's patients. The outside was very homey and secure. I also must compliment Tierre, the Administrator, for having very kind and knowledgeable staff members. It takes special people to work in these types of settings. I would not think twice about placing a family member at Valley View Gardens. read more
