Machelle and Keen Home Care came to my rescue when I needed them the most. When my beautiful wife received a terminal prognosis earlier this year, she and I interviewed two Home Care professionals in anticipation of her increasing needs. Up to this point, being retired from the fire service, including many years as a paramedic, I was comfortable and preferred to provide primary care for my sweetheart. As her needs increased, I initially hired another company based on recommendations from friends...even though my gut was telling me to hire Machelle and Keen. When the initial provider failed to provide their promised level of service and personal caring, I called Machelle looking for help. Keen has taken care of my grandparents for over 5 years and have maintained a good quality of life for them. It has been a long and solid relationship. At first it was in-home 24/7 service. When my grandfather passed last year my grandmother began to deteriorate more rapidly. We then put grandma in Keen's Rossmoor house. The Rossmoor house is not a "convalescent home," it has great vibes. There my grandma didn't feel alone and really began to improve, socializing with the 3 or 4 other older folks. Machelle and her team are top notch and very experienced in the medical and home health field. I had to hire Machelle quickly to take care of a loved one as he was at UCI and wanted to go home to hospice care. The doctors would only discharge him to rehab and not to home as he desired. With Machelle's help, we were able to get him discharged to a local rehab facility that had an available bed and then soon thereafter to an at home hospice with Keen Homecare providing 24 hour care. This was crucial to ensure that my loved one was able to receive care at home and live out the end of his days in his own bed with the comfort of his pets and loved ones. Mom is 77 and has been fighting cancer for 20+ years. I've been bi-coastal for most of the year as she's on chemo again and it was wearing on her and me. I decided I needed help and mom needed another face. I vetted many senior care providers and decided Keen was the best in care and to meet mom's needs.
