I Hanover Country florist, was recommended to me by Sullivan,'s funeral home for my mother's flowers. The owner was more than pleasant and the product at the end was stunning. Pretty much a no-nonsense type of place -The casket blanket and all other flowers ordered, were full healthy, and absolutely beautiful. Not recommended. I will never go to this florist again. My aunt's funeral was planned as a celebration of her life and beauty. Because she wanted a closed casket, I asked the florist Joe for an arrangement that would cover her casket. He recommended one that would sprawl 6" beyond half her casket. My aunt's casket was brought into the Mass with no flowers whatsoever on her casket. There were no flowers on her casket at the grave either. The white flowers promised to sprawl over her casket were a small bouquet placed under the alter, which was not even close to her casket, and at her grave, they were placed to the side. They looked like a small bouquet and were standing upright. The florist clearly is not experienced or he would have known flowers are not allowed on a casket in the Church, and he should have relayed that to me. Instead, we were forced to look at a blank casket with no beautiful flowers covering it, as was promised. The flowers overall were underwhelming. He also promised he would instruct the funeral home to bring the 2 dozen roses to the cemetery so we could hand them to each family member to preserve. He blamed Sullivan funeral director for not doing this, and Sullivan blamed a family member who was not involved with the floral arrangements and did not know what was planned. The reason for my review is to make others aware of how I was treated by this florist during my family's loss of our dear aunt. I called this florist only to express my feelings that the arrangements were not as agreed or expected. The florist assumed I was complaining or asking for my money back -- which was not the reason for my call. He refused to listen to me and talked over me. He was arrogant, so I said I would dispute the charge. Then he yelled that he would get depositions from the funeral home. Not everyone is out to demand refunds. The flowers did not represent the $1,400 I paid. They were 3 small arrangements. I will say the flowers were fresh. Joe was very nice when I was ordering them, but when I called to express my feelings, he was defensive. Sometimes people simply want their feelings to be validated and would be happy with an apology. This is not the place to go for compassion during your time of loss. read more

I have always used Hanover Country Florist, and I have never been disappointed. Our family just ordered three different arrangements for a family funeral. Each different, each one was magnificent. They stood out from any other arrangements there. In fact, they were more beautiful than the flowers ordered thru the funeral home. Even they commented how beautiful the arrangements were. We ordered two sprays and one large vase with two dozen white roses with a base of white hydrangeas. (recommended by the lovely gentlemen who answered the phone). They were stunning. My beautiful niece passed away my sons best friend sent me roses In the past roses in arrangement last a day then start drying up. These are gorgeous drinking water and they're opening. I called from New Jersey to order a basket of flowers for my 91 year old aunt who was a patient in a local rehab. The gentleman I talked to was very nice and said that due to snow storm the flowers might not be delivered until monday (this was Friday afternoon). I told him that wouldn't be a problem as safety comes first. Well, on Monday the flowers were delivered. My aunt and other members of my family have been calling me to tell me how beautiful the flowers were, even the nurses were commenting according to my relatives. I would highly recommend Hanover Country Florist. When one lives out of state as I do and doesn't know a florist in the area it is always one's hope that the order will be delivered as asked. I used this florist based on a recommendation from Sullivan Funeral Home. The flowers were fine but they never emailed me a receipt like they promised to do, which I needed to settle the funeral expenses. I called and went to the store to try to obtain one and they were completely dismissive and unhelpful. They told me I was mistaken and that they had sent the receipt. Then they claimed they couldn't give it to me now because they shredded it and also deleted the email that was sent to me and therefore had no record of the transaction. read more

I first used Hanover country florist six years ago when my parents died. They delivered the most gorgeous arrangements to the funeral home. Other mourners repeatedly commented on them. Other florists prices were very high for much smaller arrangements. They also will deliver flowers to the cemetery on special occasions. The shop is not sparkling clean, but who cares? These people care about their clientele, give them amazing arrangements for great prices. I recommend them all the time!!!!! read more
