Atrium lobby that is open to floors 3 and 4 carrying sound

The Hanover Marriott is not up to the standard of other Marriott properties and should be downgraded to a Four Points by Sheraton at best or Holiday Inn. It fails to deliver in cleanliness, noise, and customer service. I stayed here for a work meeting and was provided a room not fully cleaned with a complimentary water half drunk. The walls are very thin and I could hear yelling from one side and another's white noise machine running until 2:30 am. The hotel's open entryway rises up to the 4th floor carrying sound to rooms on the 2-4th floors whose hallway overlooks the lobby, making you feel like you are sitting in the middle of all the noise. Any items delivered by DoorDash or Instacart, etc are left by hotel staff on a long table across the front desk creating an opportunity for food to be tampered with and other deliveries stolen, not to mention a cluttered eyesore in the lobby. Room furnishings are dated and staff is not always pleasant. Upon checking out the front desk person greeted me non-verbally by just pointing to the counter with his back turned to me signaling he'd help me at that desk rather than saying "good morning, are you checking out". I won't be staying here again for any work trips. This hotel needs much improvement before I'd ever consider this a standard Marriott property.

Great stay in this Marriott that is very centrally located in the town. Location is great and close to stores. Restaurants and shops are not far away. Service was excellent and very friendly. Rooms were clean. They have a nice coffee machine for free coffee, hot chocolate, etc., available in the morning. Two restaurants on property. The pub was really good. I will definitely stay again.

I have really come to like this hotel! As I am working in Jersey twice a month , it has become my home away from home! Right now it's so pretty as they have all the Fall flowers planted in the grounds! The staff are so nice and a participant thank you so Mercy who works in the concierge lounge in the evenings. She is so lovely and remembered that last visit I was flying cross coast to see my daughter in College and asked how she was! She is a lovely person and so helpful! And speaking of the lounge - it's great! Lots of healthy breakfast choices and raw veggies, small snacks and hummus for the evening! Rooms are comfortable, quiet and it's always great staying here!

Here for a 3 day stay to attend #LuciConNJ (the Netflix show Lucifer). The common areas are clean and fairly standard, except for the immense glass light fixture on the ceiling when you walk in. Very cool. The meeting rooms seem--well--like meeting rooms. Fairly plain, but clean and unobtrusive. The hotel restaurant/bar "The Auld Shebean" is cute and cozy. We were able to take our drinks out into the lobby, since it was also PACKED with Lucifans. Easily ordered DoorDash to the hotel at 8 PM, which was definitely a bonus!! We have a double on the 3rd floor. The room is well-appointed with clean tile floors, a huge smart tv, a safe, a pod coffee maker (have not seen coffee, but it may be hiding), and a small fridge. (No microwave?). A built-in desk, ergonomic desk chair, comfy sitting chair, and small table round out the room. There is a full length mirror on the wall, which seems fairly rare for hotel rooms. The alarm clock has usb plugs, and there are reading lights on the headboards. One set of small drawers and a closet are available. The bathroom is stocked with "This Works" products (shampoo, conditioner, and body wash attached to the wall, as well as bars of soap) that smell divine. Shower has glass doors and an adjustable rainfall shower head with separate sprayer. Fancy. The beds are SO comfortable, and come with 4 pillows each of varying firmness. Sheets are crisp cotton, and the blankets are both cool and warm, if that makes sense. Overall, it is a nice hotel at a decent price for the area.

Nice hotel. Clean, well maintained, awesome comfortable beds and pillows. I prefer a carpeted floor, they had wood floors but a few rugs around. My toes were cold lol. Nice clean bathroom and amenities. There is a breakfast lunch type restaurant, as well as a full service restaurant and bar inside. It's an Irish pub. Good location, other restaurants in the area.

Empty parking lot, zero demand, and about 20 bucks to park your vehicle.

The water heater didn't work in the evening, the entire stay, so there was no hot water for a shower. There was also no room service done despite of my complaint, and even the bath towels had an unpleasant smell. This was by far the worst experience I've had at a Hilton property. I would not stay here again.

I arrived a little early, about 1:30pm and went to the counter. I was told they did not have any rooms available yet and they suggested I return about 3pm. When I returned, I was asked if I wanted a room on the ground floor, to which I replied that it did not matter. There wasn't any further conversation but I was then given keys to a room on the third floor. I did not attempt to use a digital key on this visit. This Hampton Inn appears to be physically connected to another Hilton property. After a quick look online, it appears the "Hilton" portion of the property is a level or two above the Hampton class of properties. Therefore, prices at the Hilton property are more expensive than those at the Hampton property. I think I must have been in an older section of the Hampton hotel. My room did not have a refrigerator and there were definite signs of major wear even though there appear to be attempts to make improvements. I honestly cannot remember the last time I stayed in any hotel that did not have a small refrigerator in the room. I ended up throwing out my leftover pizza because I could not keep it cold. The bathroom had significant signs of wear including rust on the ceiling and paint was peeling in several areas. The frame of the bathroom door was also rusting. Most of the USB ports and outlets on the furniture/lamps were too worn and did not charge my phone or computer. I plugged my computer directly in the wall to charge it and I plugged my phone into the outlet by the bed to get it to charge. On the second night I wanted to have some cold soda and a water for in the morning. I went to the ice machine on the third floor, it did not work. I went to the ice machine on the second floor, it did not work. I went to the ice machine on the ground floor and it worked. I guess third time is a charm. I thought the breakfast was good for a hotel. Both days they had a nice selection of options: Waffles, oatmeal, a potato option, bread, bagels, English muffins, meat (one day patty sausage, one day sliced link sausage), eggs (one day flat muffin style egg, meat, cheese, one day omelet style egg and cheese). I made a bagel breakfast sandwich each day before heading off to work which hit the spot. I also purchased a Coke from the lobby. I was surprised to find out it was $5.00. I stay at Hilton properties every time I book a hotel that one is available. I would not stay here again and would not recommend it. I am sure there are better options.

Overall pleasant, but tired hotel. Would we stay again? The nearest elevator was a single elevator (not a bank of elevators), and it went out twice during our 4-day stay! Our room was spacious - felt very tired but it did have a white duvet cover, which is appreciated, and it did feel clean. Staff at the front desk didn't know the status of the elevators or what events were happening at the hotel. Strange that the hotel charges for parking. When we were there, their very large parking lot had tons of open spaces. I get an urban property charging when space is limited, but this seemed odd. Why not add it into the hotel charge? Again overall we liked the Hilton better than the other hotel nearby that we've stayed at. Our search continues for a Northern NJ hotel near to family with a solid gym. But if we stay in Parsippany again, we'll choose this over the other, more tired options.

When I was looking for a hotel in the area I did a bit of research and learned this homewood was recently renovated. The lobby is very nice and inviting along with the light color furniture selection and window detailing in the rooms. Homewood hotels always have a more spacious layout since they include kitchens and a living room area in either a studio or bedroom format. There is also a basketball court outside, an indoor pool, and 2 pelotons in the gym (per my coworker) for those that want to remain active during their stay. There is also onsite parking which I hear costs money from other reviews and I was not told that so waiting for that bill to come through... Now for the lack of cleanliness... I walked up to my room and there were 2 lady bugs right by my room number. I walked in my room and there was one on the wall. Since ladybugs can be an infestation, I figured switching rooms would not fix this. It was also late and I didn't feel like running around town to find another place to stay. Upon settling into the room I started finding hair in various places of all color... brown, blond, black, curly, wavy, and straight. My coffee table had a sticky spot on it, clearly not wiped throughly. There were brown/black spots on the ceiling and cabinets. I found a random pair of socks in the stairwell on my last morning as I was leaving. Also the cherry on the cake... my shower took FOREVER to heat up, to the point I thought it wasn't working. I made up my mind that I would suck it up and take a cold shower then check out first thing since I was exhausted and didn't feel like getting dressed and packing. Luckily as I was rushing to take my shower it started to get a little warmer and finally on the verge of hot, so I decided to stay another night and letting it run for 10 minutes before getting in (I would be pissed at this water bill if it were my actual home). Didn't remove a star for this but I do wish there were more takeaway options for breakfast like fruit. I grabbed a yogurt which worked but maybe some hotels are not doing fresh fruit anymore to minimize waste? I'll be staying here again soon since for longer trips my coworkers and I tend to need a kitchen to cook fresh meals (I hear the knives suck and my coworker bought her own) so I'll see if I just got a bad room or if the lack of cleanliness and lady bugs is consistent....

However, what really rubbed me the wrong way was being charged $15 PER NIGHT for parking WITHOUT BEING TOLD! We checked in, and were asked if we had a car. Naturally we said yes, and were handed a little tag to hand on our windshield. At no point were we told there was a charge for parking, nor did it state as much on the aforementioned tag. Several of my friends who checked in with us had a similar experience. Even if we were appropriately informed that we would have to pay, it's nonetheless a ridiculous policy. The only time I've ever had to pay for parking at a hotel like this was in the heart of major cities such as Manhattan or Chicago, not rural New Jersey!! Considering the rooms are disproportionately expensive as it is, making guests pay for parking is corporate greed at its worst. Additionally, my wife and I left our room at 9:00am to attend a nearby wedding. We got back to the hotel around midnight, only to find that our room had not been cleaned. It was very disappointing. Lastly, a friend of hours who was also staying in the hotel had called the front desk to request extra linens. The response? "Come down and get them." Like I said, the lobby was very clean and the breakfast was great, but having to pay for parking in an area like this is ludicrous. What made it even worse was the deception.
