My recent stay at the Hilton was fairly pleasant. There's ample free parking available for all guests and the hotel was very clean and nicely decorated. Upon check in the staff was so so, as they could have been more pleasant. At one point I said hi to a front desk employee and he looked and didn't say anything in response. My room was very clean and refreshing with a decent view. The bar staff was very friendly and they offered a nice array of drinks, they were very refreshing and delicious. They offered breakfast and dinner service, at a fee. The hotel was very convenient to alot of restaurants, stores and the airport. I would stay again, besides some of the unpleasant staff. read more

Had a a weekend stay and needed a Hotel close to Newark airport. About 20 minutes so this worked. Newer and they were nicely decorated for the Holidays. Breakfast is available but wasn't included with my room. That said, they had complimentary coffee and Happy Hour specials at the Bar. My King Bed Room was a good size. A microwave in addition to the mini fridge and safe was a nice touch. I liked the Shower sliding doors vs curtains. Fitness room had all the Cardio equipment as well a weight station and Dumbbells. Indoor pool was more for the kids vs for Laps. Parking is free. A good selection of stores and restaurants nearby. Check-in was easy/quick and I got lucky and was able to check-in early (11:30) on a Friday. Service was friendly and upbeat. Great option close to Newark (EWR) and will stay here again. read more

Would give this hotel a higher rating if they would simply recycle the plastic water bottles, cups, utensils, etc. that guests use. I asked at the front and there is no recycling bin anywhere on this property. Why aren't you using sustainable materials instead of single-use plastic? Why are there no recycling bins anywhere? Also, while we love that it's dog-friendly hotel, there is a lot of trash in the dog park area. Our dog choked on a half-eaten chicken bone that she found back there. I travel more than 75% of the year. I usually stick to Hilton brand hotels. This Hilton is by far better than every other Hilton in the local area, which I have stayed in. The staff are polite and professional. The trainee at the front desk is more knowledgeable and professional than the avg front desk worker I have encountered at past hotels. This whole place is clean, new and modern. A few things that I need/want in a hotel to have a comfortable stay and for me not to miss home as much. 1. Clean place. This place is spotless. 2. Soft lighting, I hate harsh lighting when it's one CFL light in the corner in an attempt to work for the whole room. This place has ample light fixtures with soft lighting. It's really nice and comfortable. 3. Roomy, this king bed room has a comfortable arm chair with foot stool. I used it a lot. There is ample room to work and move around. 4. A clean bathroom with hot water and good water pressure. yup, this place has it also. 5. A nice gym. you guest it! They have a roomy gym, with cardio machines that are connected to a TV and cable! There are free weights, machine and a peloton bike. 6. A fridge. Microwave and safe are included. ALL of them work! The fridge does not freeze over, and safe locks up well. They have a little market that counts towards your $10 dollar credit for Hilton honors diamond members. There is ample free parking. That's rare in this area. The area is not very walkable so you will need a car get around. I am very impressed with this hotel and staff. I will be sure to return in 2 weeks. There is no free breakfast, which most people expect. It's a paid meal. The bonus for that is.... Breakfast is peaceful. But you have to pay for it. I am not a huge breakfast person, I usually take items to my room and snack on it. I sat down for the continental breakfast. I ended up paying $14.00 for a minimal breakfast. Not really worth it, I was not hungry enough for a menu item. But I just won't go back and do that again. $14 for Tea and a fruit cup is a bit much. They offer coffee and tea in the lobby at the morning! It's much appreciated! Checking out the bar for a drink and a snack. Bartender is very friendly and helpful! I ordered food to go. Review is for breakfast yesterday where the dining area was by the lobby, but quite clean. Buffet was sparse, but I enjoyed the omelette filled with mushroom, onions, spinach, and cheese. Their fried potatoes was also pretty good- must be air fried, but seasoned perfectly. I was alone and the only server that morning asked me to move to a long communal table, because mine didn't have a set-up. However, on Thursday mornings, I'm quite anti social and uncomfortable with strangers. Besides I could just grab a set-up from the next table. And that I did. Really enjoyed staying at this hotel, great location, price, little cafe for to-go items and a restaurant inside for convenience. The little "extras" like the compartment drawer space in the closet, extra lights for the bathroom mirror to see your face better while putting on makeup, and especially the rod in the stand-up shower for shaving your legs are all thoughtful adds!! Makes me say, these are easy, cheap, modern, no-brainers! Why aren't all hotels doing this! The food in the restaurant was hit or miss. I only tried a meatball appetizer that was not very good, the meatballs were bland and dry. And the appearance was "off" when cutting one open. A couple workers recommended the Korean bowl, so I had to go with that. I went with steak (instead of salmon because last time I had salmon in a hotel, it wasn't pretty). The beef was decent but not cooked medium-rare as ordered - more like medium and the ends were a solid medium well. Uck and sadness. The flavor of the rest of the ingredients were great, though! The cafe I like the different single serve offerings of wine, spritzers, and beers! The Sterling Cabernet in a double pour aluminum can for $10 was fantastic!! I should grabbed a photo. But, in the morning I was just looking for a breakfast bar. So weird they didn't have something so basic and expected as a snack bar. But more junk food like candies. Which I didn't want for breakfast. They serve regular breakfast there but I didn't have the time but I did snag an apple from the eating area. There is an attitude here - missing the idea of customer-focused services. The front desk attendant carried the attitude, flippant, and uncaring as we asked if there was an opportunity for a "2-3 minute" tour of the facility for two school reunions sometime in the next two or three years. "NO" was the report back from the catering manager, buried somewhere in the hotel office. "Fill out paperwork, choose dates for the event, and if the dates are open, we can set up time to meet at a later date." Apparently, the sales approach is simple "No dates, no paperwork, no 2-3-minute tour". We left, understanding that a Hilton front desk attendant could have an attitude, but stunned that the catering manager Michele wouldn't consider stepping out to thank us for our interest, and if for nothing else, to apologize that she had another appointment and would love to meet, but at a later date. Yikes, I do not want to imagine the attitude if there were ever a problem with the venue or food service at an event. Fortunately, there are a number of very good options in the area. read more

This hotel is perfect if you hosting a wedding, conference or even a midsize meeting due to the space provided by the hotel. There is ample parking to meet the needs of large events. Regardless, the rooms are upscale, sleek and more modern than most of the Hilton Garden Inns around. If you look at the pics I posted of my room, you can see the attention to detail in each of the rooms that makes it go above and beyond. The rooms are also large and have sitting area space. The mirrors and lighting in the bathroom are on par with other five star hotels. The beds are huge and comfy. The Hilton Garden here in Springfield is magnificent and I will stay here again. read more

Brand-spankin'-new!! My coworker and I stayed here for five nights on a recent business trip. I loved it here! It is conveniently located on Route 22 and convenient to so many restaurants and shops nearby. They had quite the crowd during the week of our stay due to various business meetings -- I guess the secret is out. The staff were very friendly and very attentive to the guests. Every morning there was fresh coffee and in the evenings, fruit-infused water, fresh fruit, and fresh-baked cookies waiting for us in the lobby. When cups or cookies ran out, the staff was quick to refill them. The lobby area is also nice for lounging; there are plenty of nice, comfortable chairs both inside and out on the open patio. The rooms are spacious, super clean and crisp and new. I love the modern design of storage options, and that HUGE TV? Awesome! There's also plenty of nice furniture and it is overall very inviting. Can't wait to come back for another stay! This place will definitely be my #1 choice next time. read more

Had a room with 2 queen beds, 300+ a night. Lucky i thought to bring a lightweight military "wooby" blanket as i was sharing a bed and the sheets/blankets seem thin to me. The chair in the corner must've be repurposed from a prison waiting room as it was clearly not designed for comfort. Went down in the morning to grab a bagel. The breakfast staff are very alert and quick to tell you that your continental breakfast (bagel) would cost 12 bucks, and try to shill you into a more expensive breakfast. Do they make commissions? coffee was free though. so was the 3 dollar bottle of water on account of being a Hilton honor member. Shower was good, front desk person was friendly and room was clean though so a couple of stars for that. View of the apartments is not great but not a bad thing. Good size tv and paper channel guide. Beds are comfy with 5 pillows, one of them larger than the other. Two different firmnesses. I was in town nearby (Union, NJ) for a celebration of life for my cousin that passed away earlier this year. I booked this hotel because it was the closest to my cousins brother. I don't normally stay in HGI but again it was the closest. I did everything online including my room key so i didn't have to stop at the front desk. When I drove up I was impressed by how clean it looked from the outside and the inside was as well. It was nice that there was some sort of meeting/banquet space attached. My room was clean and comfortable except for a piece of gun I found on one of the cup wrappers. My only complaint was the shower pan. For a hotel I thought it was slippery. There weren't any "treads"'on the floor to prevent you from slipping. Surprised a hotel would take a risk like that. Would stay there again and would recommend as well. Today I go to set down for breakfast not busy few people setting down at tables an one at a very long table. My organization i am apart of had a big event here and it was not a great experience with the banquet staff or manager, you would have thought they never had a big formal event there.. lack of communication between the staff was a problem which caused major hiccups on the day of our event. The money that just our event and out of town guests brought much gain to the hotel but we were not even offered the option of a comp or discount breakfast which is offered at MOST hotels when you host and event there. The food for our formal banquet was OK, not the best presentation i am used to.. no beverages for the table for buffet style dinner (very limited) even down to the table linens. I've stayed here twice - both visits are exactly one year apart. It's clean and close to where I need to go in Summit. I do have some issues: thermostat is difficult to solve and there was no extra blanket in the closet. But the staff is nice and, again, the place is clean. But here's the weird one. Last year, the elevator on the right was out of order for two nights (my entire stay). This year, as we were leaving, and there I saw to my surprise, an out of order sign on the right elevator! I was fully woken and the sign - one year later, I Saw It Again. Has the elevator been fixed in the past year or are they resigned to simply having one elevator? We'll see next year. read more

Last minute urgent stay. I live nearby, so I probably would never have cause to stay here, but I had a plumbing issue at my home and needed a room for myself and my 81-year-old Mother. We checked in close to midnight. Front desk woman was pleasant enough. The room was big and clean. Beds were comfortable, lots of pillows. The thermostat was easily accessed and worked well. I was able to change the temperature for comfort. The bathroom was also roomy, very clean, with good lighting. Lots of towels. Plenty of room in closet including baskets. The hairdryer is in the closet. The day on-duty Manager Tom M. was wonderful, professional and accommodating. I had a special circumstance that he was very understanding of. This in itself would have lead to a positive review. This hotel is lovely, and I will recommend to family and friends needing to stay in the area. read more

This is by far the best Hilton I've stayed at, the premises are very clean with plenty of parking. The hotel is recently renovated and it looks amazing inside the rooms..... The staff was all friendly with the exception of one rude apple working the night shift,who by the looks of it is always in a bad mood and unfriendly with guest. This property is brand spanking new, not even three months old type of new. It is truly modern in design and execution. What I thought would be one night here on business turned into two when my flight was cancelled. This is my favorite hotel when travelling locally for work. I travel often and this is by far the best hotel in the area. They had some service issues in my first visit, but completely made it up when made aware, and more than exceeded my expectations in the last visit. So, my review is based on my last couple visits. Staff are generally warm and friendly. The Hospitality manager is wonderful and really goes out of his way to provide great service. Front desk team is also reliably helpful. Rooms are spacious, comfortable, and modern. Lots of cushy pillows,and I like that the temperature is easy to control. Showers are also great. Fitness room is well appointed and will certainly accommodate a variety of fitness needs. Dining can be a bit on the pricey side for what you get (standard, American fare) but you're a captive audience in an area without any walk-able restaurants. Can't blame them. I also with they would move beyond basic nutrogena bath products and get something more luxe, like L'Ocittaine. But maybe I am spoiled with the Brooklyn hotels who provide these :) Overall, if you're in this area of Jersey, this is the best you can get. read more

New property...Nice comfortable room...very specious... Bathroom is big and very nice standing shower... The king bed look somewhat little smaller then king bed at other Hilton hotel (Embassy suite) but still good for couple. Room is very clean and organized...and the way all furniture set, you have more empty area in the room to walk around... Main lobby and other general area are nice and cleaned too. Staff are well trained to do the job to the customers satisfaction. Only minus point is the breackfast is not free...need to pay $14.95...if you good breakfast eater, then it is worthed to pay. They have small shop for stuffs guests normally forget and ask front desk...so if you forget toothbrush, don't expect one free/complimentary from front desk...you need to buy it from this small shop...I don't see this as minus point but this is plus point as this shop has more items than toothpaste and toothbrush, so you don't need to outside to buy it. Nice outdoor patio to enjoy the morning breakfast or just enjoy the weather. read more

I went here for some relaxing time & do some work. My first impression of the place is it's nice & the room is clean. When I went into the bathroom there was a black hair on the sink which was gross but the room was clean for the most part. I could not get Breakfest downstairs because it was just a few minutes past 11 & they stop serving breakfast at 11. I called room service only to find out they do not have room service till 5 nor is the restaurant open till 5 that was annoying. Then I went to order a movie only to find out you can not order movies. When dinner time came I ordered room service got the cheese burger & ribs & both were ok tasted like old food! I would not eat there again. So finally I go to bed & the sheets are not soft at all & the pillows were way too soft zero support for my head. The next morning I went downstairs for breakfast & the women working there were like the Breakfest police. I could name a million little things they did that were annoying but I'll just name a few told us we were using waffle machine wrong... btw I've stayed in many hotels never had a problem with a waffle machine... they said we placed a service spoon in the wrong spot... it just continued like literally watching over us we went to wrong table & so on it was really weird & annoying. This was the worst customer service I have ever received. I travel a lot, so i am a Hilton honors member. I turned in a tax exempt form and the reservation desk argued with me about taking taxes off. Tax exempt means my company is tax exempt from ALL taxes. Tom was extremely rude and proceeded to argue with me about the situation. This hotel has revived my faith in the Hilton brand. I often travel for work and lately have been stuck staying at some really dumpy Hiltons. I was ready for another dump but this hotel pleasantly surprised me. The building is in good condition and the rooms are modern and new. The MOST UNPROFESSIONAL person I have ever encountered. She literally turned a five star stay into a one/two star. The customer service portrayed by her has tainted my taste of the hiltons. My family and I stood at this hotel before and we had a great experience, but I was there last week and had to leave at 1:30am with my two children due to bed bugs. I am very disappointed with how things were handled. I still haven't received a call back about the issue, haven't received my Hilton points, called corporate to make a complaint, and still no response. Generally I'm a big fan of the Hilton Hotels but I'm having a bad experience with the Hilton Garden Inn. First driving into the parking lot I witnessed a couple getting busy in the window of their room with blinds up giving everyone a porn show. Second our room was directly above their event venue and music was very, very loud. When I called the front desk to complain he says that the music will stop at 11pm, well it's 11:15 and music is still going. Third, sheets on one of the beds were not changed and when we asked for clean sheets it took the hotel more than 30 minutes to get us new sheets. Calling front desk multiple times didn't resolve any of my complaints. Mind you we have a 16 month old with us and can't put her to bed because the bed has no sheets and the music is way too loud!!!! Asked for a different room but was told the hotel was full. 11:23pm and music is still going!!!! read more

This is a new hotel in Springfield, NJ and is wonderful! Stayed there 3 nights over a long weekend. The room was well appointed, comfortable and clean. Did not hear a sound from the room next to us and there were guests there. The bed, linens and towels are very nice. The staff is personable and accommodating. We had trouble accessing the closed captioning on the TV (was our fault for not knowing how to do it). We called the front desk to ask how to turn on the closed captioning and within 3 minutes (I am not kidding!!) two staff were at the door and solved our dilemma. The hotel does not offer a free breakfast but has coffee in the lobby for guests. In the evening there is a lovely display of fruit, fruited water and delicious gourmet cookies. The room rate as extremely reasonable ($126/night over a weekend) as compared to where we usually stay ($170++ if you are lucky enough to get this rate )at the Westminster in Livingston, NJ. The rooms and amenities are superior to the Westminster's. Will be staying there again and again when we visit our children in South Orange, NJ. read more
