No stars. BEWARE. Just tried to call to make a reservation for a small corporate group. We were laughed at by the person that answered the phone. This person then proceeded to hang up on us. When I attempted to call back with a different number, the phone was picked up and hung up immediately. From what it looks like, this restaurant host either has it out for the owner and the restaurant, or they simply do not like having customers and making money. I was considering visiting this restaurant until I heard from a friend who did dine there recently about a questionable practice. It seems when the check was brought to the table she noticed an additional 4% fee listed as Advantage Club. When my friend asked what that was she was told that as soon as a guest orders the 4% fee is added. This was not a fee for using a credit card, her payment was made in cash, but was simply an added fee for ordering food! There is no " club" and there are no benefits it's just an extra fee added by the restaurant without any notice or explanation unless the guest asks. Every time I go here, the food is fantastic. The best part, it's not in a congested location, so easy parking. My first time there, I tried the burgers and fries, great. Next time, more upgraded meals, also great, now I'm getting prime rib, fantastic. I love this place, good prices, great food, great service, always packed. wife and I went for a 40th wedding anniversary 1st time at Hanoverville Road house. We waited few minutes 3 to 5 waitress came over as what we want it and got our drinks then came back and took our order I had prime rib. My wife had a sirloin. waitress ask me how I wanted it and I told her medium I don't believe she asked how my wife would like it, I said I wanted a salad with onions and its was like it was going to be a little trouble not a bit of lettuce in my salad all greens, but it was OK. My wife steak was lukewarm and sort of dried. My steak was lukewarm on the outside and cold on the center very disappointing for my 40th wedding anniversary, I will not be returning even for a burger $85. I don't think so. Very disappointing will not tell my friends to go there. read more

ripWow, disrespect for your staff? Your own waitress told us your in house billing procedures were confusing. I personally didn't bring the cake in, said nothing to any of your staff that was.. rude. The $25.00 per capita for reservations was rude, and some kind of fee for using a credit card which we thought was outrageous never is charged elsewhere. Your food was mediocre which several in our group agreed. Indeed, we did take our business elsewhere.... Coopers in Scranton, same group, great seafood experience & no hassles from "business management". Then Henry's in Allentown which turned out to be outstanding. These businesses were very cordial, & want us back. After bringing up our experience at hanover ville ripoff, everyone said they won't go back. Yes, in the land of warehouses, there is a guy who thinks respect for his staff is more important than accommodating a $700.00 dinner group with I might add , a sizable holiday tip, can pick his customers as he sees fit. The meals and portions were exquisite and the staff from the time you call to make reservations, till seated were awesome, even during this Pandemic. Always a good meal here. The rum chicken was very good and the peanut butter pie was very light. You just can't beat Dave as a bartender.

Service was slow. For the last two times we've been there they stuck us in the side room with the fireplace and that is the absolute worst place they can seat you for the reason is the waitstaff forgets you're even there. It took them 10 min for the waitress to come over and take our drink orders and I guess because we ordered right away, we didn't get any bread and our drink refills came at the end of the meal when we ordered them when they brought our entrees out. If you ever go here, please insist you get seated in the main room and not in the back side room. You will spend more time than you have to. read more

I've never eaten there, and I might not. But I drive past it every single day on my way to and from work. I'm delighted by the 12 foot skeleton that's been standing out front since October. We were looking for somewhere that we hadn't been before and after coupling that with a restaurant.com certificate we hoped for something good at Hanoverville. But instead we left with the belief that this place would be a perfect candidate for Gordon Ramsay's show Kitchen Nightmares. We showed up a bit early for our reservation to find the restaurant deserted except for two other tables. After being seated we sat for almost ten minutes before having a drink order taken. After our drinks were delivered we sat another ten minutes until our food order was taken. We each ordered a chicken dish, one with a baked potato and chicken tomato basil soup and the other with a salad and red skinned potatoes. The soup and salad were delivered immediately and the salad was drenched in dressing and the soup was hammered with basil and tasted more like Chef Boyardee. The entrees quickly followed and were disappointing at best. Both Chicken dishes had thick heavy butter leaden sauces that were grotesque and whatever flavor the chicken had was lost to the slathered on sauce. The baked potato that was delivered was stone cold. It is clear that this place is not making things fresh and food is just left to sit around, like the baked potato, and then it gets slathered in a sauce or butter and then gets sent to the table. We were going to complain but it was closing time and clearly we were being rushed to leave so that they could close seeing as there was no one left in the whole place. I cannot say enough bad things about Hanoverville. The service was slow and inattentive and the food is covered in disgusting buttery sauces and hot food is served cold. We will never be back and will go out of our way to spread the word that this place needs either an intervention or needs to just be put out of its misery and mercifully closed. read more

I remember when this place, the Galley, and the Newburg Inn were all go-to places for my company to do events or take clients. Getting a gift card for here as a reward for a project was a big deal! The others are gone, the roadhouse remains, and unfortunately it doesn't look like much has changed here in 25 years. Wife and I made reservation for Saturday night. Didn't need it as only a handful of other customers were there. At 50, I believe were the youngest customers by far. Food was ok. I had ribs which were pretty decent, and wife was happy to find that the crab cakes were gluten-free. No complaints about the food. The decor definitely reminded us of a diner type family restaurant. Clean, but pretty campy for the type and price of the food here. I remember it being much fancier. Service matched the diner atmosphere. Hostess was frazzled and kind of stressed that she had a phone call AND us walk in at the same time. Waitress was friendly but basically disappeared after we got our food. We wanted a second round but saved the money I guess. We spent the meal wondering what went wrong with the Roadhouse. Needs decorating but the food is ok. Where are the people? Honestly this place is close to much but also out of the way enough to have zero drop-in customers. Unfortunately I don't see us going out of our way to return. read more

What a pleasant atmosphere at the Roadhouse! The servers are so nice, and even tho they wete busy, we never felt rushed. NI was fortunate enough to meet their very talented and happy chef, Jeremy. We've been visiting this restaurant for many years, and currently we highly recommend it (there was a time a few years ago I would not, but new ownership a couple years ago has made a significant difference). The NE clam chowder is always terrific, and generally speaking their specials are excellent. Seafood is a win, and if want pub fare that's also always good. We were using our $75 gift certificate. Missed using the one from the year before because it expired. Glad we used this one! I ordered the an appetizer of Pierogies Alfredo. (it was Yum!) My wife ordered the the Fish & Filet entree and I went for the Chicken Anna. With our drinks served, out came the hot rolls and butter. Wife's broiled seafood & steak were perfection - she always orders rare, and my jumbo lump crab on chicken in wine sauce was good! Both were served with great tasting green beans. Chicken to me is supposed to fall apart, so I wished it would have been more tender - but it did cut with my fork. What can I say, I am used to buying the $4.98 rotisserie chicken at Sam's Club for my wife & me for dinner. Plenty large portions - we ended up taking leftovers home for lunch the next day! By the way, my drinks were great, but it took my bill up to $95. Waitress was very attentive, and the place really was not busy for a weekday evening. Wife deserved a night out! Cozy, too. read more

We used ot go to the Roadhouse almost weekly for years. Decided to give t a try again after new management. This place has a serious identity crisis. You can't serve a ton of "pizza parlor" items and be a fine dining establishment at the same time. Fine dining to me means everything is cooked from fresh ingredients, not bought from Sysco and reheated/cooked straight from their pans. No one can possibly stock the amount of fresh ingredients for everything on thier menu. So we ordered the mozarella sticks and clam chowder. The mozarella sticks arrived luke warm and were the exact same ones I can buy form restaurant depo and every pizza shop in the valley serves. The marnara was also barely warm and tasted like Prego. Quite obviously not home made. The bread that arrived late was nothing more than an Amoroso steak roll that was obviousy frozen at one point. It was not even warm enough to melt the butter and tasted like it was frozen at one point. Our clam chowder (Roadhouse used ot have award winning chowder) was the right consistancy but had little flavor other than some dill. I had to hunt for about 8 tiny pieces of clam that all together didn't even add up to one tiny littelneck clam. 3 pieces of potato. No rich taste of a clam r even seafood base. Tasted like cornstarch was used to thicken. Definitely not a rue. Could have come straight out of a can. definitely did not have that "every spoonful makes you want more Roadhouse taste." Hubby's prime rib was cooked to the right temp/doneness but had absolutely no outer crust. Wasn't seasoned on the outside at all. His broccoli was obviously roasted (over roasted) charred, limp and cool to the touch. My crab cakes (not sure they were even real crab) definitely were not Jumbo lump or even lump. The meat was shredded like the fake crab you get at the grocery store. Again no flavor. My baked potato was not hot enough to melt the butter, just like the bread. Look, make a decision. If you want to be a local hangout, sports bar, great beer selections then just do that. You can serve all the pre-made bar food you want but as for fine dining, epic fail. As a foodie that has traveled extensively and one that has made a living out of cooking, this is sad. Again, pick an identy and stick with it. This schitzophrenic menu is not working. Came here Friday night during prime time to find a table which wasn't ideal. This was our first experience dining here. The waitress was very busy with a full house. She took our drink order after 5 minutes and returned with then after another 5. What I ordered was what I got. The hostess came over and asked if everything was ok and asked about my drink. She took it and return Ed with correct one, no questions asked and very apologetic. She then filled in giving us the specials and asking if we needed anything else. The waitress came back shortly and started giving us the specials which we stopped her. She took or order and within 10 minutes our soup was out. We both had the clam chowder which my wife loved and I wasn't as pleased but it was good. Too many potatoes and a little to much onion. Next came out entrees within 15 of order. My wife had the prime rib and cheddar potatoes which she loved. Nice cut of meat and nice and tender. I had Chesapeake chicken which was tasty with plenty of crab meat. The sauce was good with just a hint to much salt but I enjoyed it. Down side was the plate seemed crammed with all the sides almost mixed together. The meal was great, drinks were ok and service was a little slow. I would recommend them and will return in the future. read more

I never wrote any review on Yelp before. The Hanoverville Roadhouse disappointed me enough that I have to speak up about my dining experience there. I totally agree with everything Christopher C wrote but unfortunately we had worse dinning experience: We ordered chicken with white wine, butter and lump crab meat.The whole dish was extremely sour. It's very likely that their cooking wine went bad because it tasted exactly like vinegar. We sent it back and ordered chicken parmigiana instead, thinking that it is really hard to mess up chicken parmigiana. Well, the first time in our life we got pre-cut chicken parmigiana without the breading. The chicken looked very similar to the previous order that we just sent back to the kitchen and tasted a bit sour. Along with the chicken parmigiana were the vegetables from the previous order in a different plate. At this point, we did not have any appetite at all. We paid the bill and left. The waitress was trying to talk to us to figure out what went wrong since we left a full plate of food there. We were informed that the owner was the chief. read more

HANDICAPPED FACILITIES: Yes there is a ramp out front but at the end of the ramp are stairs that, if you were not paying attention, you could easily ride your wheelchair straight down and injure yourself. Plus, the bathroom is in no way handicap accessible so basically it's not a handicap accessible facility whatsoever. read more

I travel to Bethlehem, PA a couple times a year and am always looking for different places to eat. Last year I stumbled across this place and have to say that I was pleased overall. The portions of the food (I had the ribs) were huge! Make sure to go hungry or plan to take leftovers. I had great service when I was there. It was during the week and was not too crowded. I did not need a reservation even though their web site recommends it. It was like eating inside of an old house. It was cozy but outdated. Overall, I would give this place 3.5 stars and would probably go again. read more

This place is really a great place for their bar food selection. They have really good and quick meals with reasonable prices. Their burgers are always perfect and the patties are homemade there. My family and I go here frequently for burgers and drinks. It's a great back up restaurant when you don't feel like cooking. Highly recommend their mozzarella sticks as well, also their clam chowder is very good. Most people hold their somewhat slow service against them but what do you expect when the staff isn't used to having many customers due to the exterior look of the place. read more

I don't know who Cobb was, or why he wanted to make salads unhealthy, but he was a genius. Unfortunately the Cobb salad I ordered here came with gross cucumbers, unwieldy and redened lettuce, and avocado left too long in the fridge. It came with two small peices of garlic bread I honestly speculated to be made from hotdog buns. The peirogis I got as an appetizer were fine, but the sour cream was very cold, making it hard to spread. There were only three tables occupied tbis evening, though, and that's what made the slow and poor service so regrettable. It was slow to be seated, and there was only one waitress, but she seemed to struggle even once the room was down to two tables. That said, the price was right and the atmosphere was nice. But come on - it's a salad. I shouldn't have to pick inedible chunks out of it, especially on a quiet night. read more

poor customer service my husband got a gift certificate for his birthday because of health issues we were unable to use. We called and were told no problem even if it expires we can still use it. they got new owner who won't honor it I was told they would take $10 off my bill they are crazy why would I want to spend my money there when they won't honor a gift certificate that someone paid for.
