I'm so glad I found them! recently used Hansen to repair my window, and dealing with them was quick and convenient. Because of the window's design, I wasn't sure if the broken pane could be replaced. I called them on a Monday morning, and the repair was done by noon the next day. The repair man did an excellent job, cleaned up everything, and was very polite. Worked with Devon throughout the process of arranging for Hansen Screen and Glass to come and take care of a non-existent screen in my room on the second floor of this townhouse. Whether visiting him in person at their shop on centinela, or meeting him here at the house he was super professional, prompt and a joy to deal with. For those of you with long-time roots in the Fox hills area, it may come as no surprise that Hanson, Screen and Glass is a legendary local company suited to fit these needs. While some of the other reviews spoke of some possible hiccups with respect to the communication process, I highly suggest taking down the cell phone number that is listed on the landline message machine. This way, you can text and even speak in real time and speed things up a bit. All in all, Hansen Screen and Glass remains top dog with regards to the west side and specifically the Fox hills area as far as screen and glass repairs go. I went in last week, and 5 minutes and 5 dollars later, I came out with a perfect replacement. But this is a small business. I suggest calling first. Hansen's did 2 custom jobs for us. 1) create and install glass "showcase" shelving - 8 panels. 2) RECREATE a 1950s era mirror with metallic roller/track for a medicine cabinet application. We couldn't be happier with their work on both. The mirror/roller track replica is stunning and functions and fits flawlessly - better than the original. And the glass shelving panels are a work of art - just like the antique glassware and ashtrays that they support. This was the second time we used Hansens. The first was to replace our back door glass when the house got broken into and this last one was to replace a VERY large view window in our entry way. I didn't even get a bid for the big glass window because I was so pleased with the interaction, the quality, the communication, the friendliness, and the workmanship of the first time we used them. These guys are great. They don't tell you a bunch of bull and don't try to sell you stuff you don't need. I was having problems with a sliding glass door. It wasn't sliding smoothly. Every other company I called wanted to sell me a new sliding glass door for $2ooo. One of the technicians from Hansen told me that I needed to replace some part, and it would cost me about $50.00. So, I hired them for that project, and have been using them ever since for my rental properties. I appreciate knowing that they aren't going to jerk me around and try to sell me things I don't need. But, they are very busy, so have some patience. read more

Got the name of this place from an employee at Home Depot. Needed to custom screens made. My husband dropped off measurements on a Tuesday, said they'd be ready by Thursday. We didn't hear from them but by husband went by in the morning and they promised they'd be ready by 3:30pm. Sure enough they were ready. He brings them home and he gave them the wrong measurements so they were too big. He took them back today (Friday) with the new measurements and they were trimmed down. He gets them back home and 1 screen fits and the other is too big. Sure enough he goes back a third time and was immediately taken care of. Both screens fit perfectly and despite my husband's miscalculations they did an awesome job. He worked with Jose who was fabulous! All the work and no extra charges. Very reasonably priced! Wish I could give them zero stars. These folks are awful. I had a window spring break, called Hansen I've used them before happily. A technician was sent to my home same day! I was thrilled. The technician removed the broken springs and said he'd need to check if they had them in stock or would need to order them, This was a Thursday. Didn't hear anything back so I called again next week. Voicemail was full. All week. Following week I was finally able to connect. There was no record from the technician who had come to my house. He told me he'd check with the guy when he returned from current job site. Never heard back. Horrible customer service. Don't use these guys, super shady. read more

Shout out to all my Fox Hills friends. You probably live in a 70's apartment/condo and you probably still have the cheap aluminum sliding windows and doors. When those break, this is the company to fix them. Had the top rollers on two windows break. Took down the windows and brought them in. Hansen had the parts and refused to charge for the labor to install. Did the work in less than an hour. Highly recommended. read more

In an attempt to support a local shop, I went to Hansen's. I was told I have my new screens in a week.A week turned into four as my order was lost and they were backed up from the 4th of July holiday. When I finally got them, multiple screens were the WRONG SIZE. The guys came to my place to check (with an attitude) and took measurements for other screens I needed. Said it would take a couple of weeks. After 3 weeks, I decide to stop by and talk to a manager. I was met with confusion, then more attitude as I tried to explain my experience. I hate writing bad reviews, especially for small businesses but I'm so frustrated that I must share my experience with Hansen Screen & Glass. They were recommended to me by a good friend so I call and requested a estimate. They send a guy out and he measured my window and screen doors. I waited a week then 2 weeks with no response from them. I called back but they couldn't find paperwork showing when they visited my home ... so....I decided to try it again. Guy came back out took the measurements and I waited and waited... again no response so I went into the office. No paperwork was found... I left a message with a young lady there to have the owner call me back.... I waited and waited no response. Now I'm really upset but my friend convinced me that I would be happy with the service if they ever came out. You won't believe it but I just made my 6th call to this business and the guy who answered the phone asked me what he could do about it. No apology no let us make it up to you ... nothing! I feel sorry for the owner because from one I've heard he's a great guy...but he needs to improve his office staff. There is no reason after 6 try's someone haven't gotten back to me! Avoid, avoid, avoid. This place is so bad, I had to write that three times. Installed new shower doors incorrectly and didn't take responsibility for it. Sent some guy out after I called and told them the door wasn't closing all the way (these idiots measured it wrong). Said guy cleaned off a bit of the leftover caulk and told me it would eventually break itself in. What the...? Needless to say, that wasn't the case. We're talking a glass door, folks, not a pair of high heels. Read the other posts and stay far away from these losers. I stopped by minutes before closing on Friday afternoon for help with a piece of plexiglass (that I didn't even purchase from Hansen's) and the staff were so willing to help me without hesitation. I've used them a few years ago to replace a broken window at my home and the experience then was great too (albeit I failed to Yelp about it). Not sure why they have so many bad reviews, but this has not been my experience. So happy to have this resource in our community, they are much more knowledgeable than the big box stores. read more

I just had my master bathroom remodeled and wanted a frameless shower to complete the room. I called Hansen Screen and Glass and spoke with Danny who made an appointment for the same day in the afternoon to come out and measure and give me an estimate for the work that needed to be done. Danny called and showed up earlier than the initial time and I was very pleased with his professionalism and advice regarding the space I was working with. I placed an order and was told it would be about 5-7 business days for installation to take place. The shower doors were installed 10 days later and look great!!!! His recommendations on the special coating on the glass paid off and the glass looks like it has been cleaned every time I shower. When the installation was done they left the area clean. What I find interesting is how after every negative review there is a five star review immediately after. Notice how the five-star reviews don't describe A specific experience . Hmmmm. I smell a rat made out of cheap glass. I am definitely an advocate of local businesses. I called and made an appointment with Hansons due to a broken bedroom window. I met with a very professional individual who gave me a good estimate and a corresponding lead time. He explained on Thursday, the possibility of not having service until Monday. I understood and thanked him for his honesty. Once Monday had arrived after a rainy and Cold weekend, I got no call from hansens. Thanksgiving was approaching so of course I knew the likeliness of having to wait until the following week if repairs weren't made by Wednesday. When I called them on Wednesday before work I was greeted by an unapologetic receptionist who seemed to have very little concerned about my issue. He did offer to have someone come out that day but by then my pregnant wife was already upset and my work schedule already in play. What appeared to be a professional and efficient company ended up being unprofessional and a waste of my time. I was refunded my money The following week. Thanks for nothing guys ! It was my fault for not reading the yelp reviews first. What's worse than a business that gives you bad service is a business that deceives you with good service only to give you bad service in the end. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions. We look forward to working with you." But when I called with questions, they didn't call back. I recently remodeled my bathroom and I wanted a frameless shower enclosure. I received 2 other estimates before calling Hansen's. All the estimates were around the same price but the service I received from Hansen's made me want to use them. My estimate was done be Daniel. Very professional but still personable. Good humor and the authorization to make a deal. When it came time for the installation both Devon and Daniel came to install. I don't remember when the install started but it seemed like it went pretty quick and looked great once it was done. I also purchased the enduroshield coating and after a few uses I can tell that it is so much easier to clean the glass. I would totally recommend Hansen's, they did an excellent job and made me feel that I was in good hands. read more

In my opinion, Hansen Screen & Glass does not value customer service or loyalty. They we're over two hours late showing up for my scheduled window repair. I waited around the entire afternoon and no phone call to let me know they would be late. I finally had to call them twice after being tired of waiting. Told they would be here "as soon as possible" which could mean whenever. Sure, they showed up and did the repair but we ended up paying an extra 30 mins of labor when the job took only an hour. Asked for them to reduce the price but they denied it. We are looking into replacing several of our other windows and hoping that they would be the ones to hire for the job but after this experience, I wouldn't go back. In the end, don't waste your time with them because they surely will waste yours. read more

This company has displayed very bad customer service. I had an appointment two weeks ago from today for 10 am..I called the office 45 minutes after appt time and spoke to (it seems the only person in the store) Daisy. She said she would call the technician to see where he was and call me back. I waited another 15 minutes waiting for a call that did not happen. I called her back and asked what was the technician stauts..she said "He didnt call you, I gave him your number". I informed her he did not. She said she checked his GPS and it showed he arrived to my location at approx. 9:40 am and stayed until 9:55am..I informed her he could not have because I had been sitting and waiting for his arrival. Daisy reschedule my appointment for today..I requested the 1st appointment of the day which was between 9-10am. I also asked for the owner, Chris, to call me regarding this situation due to not being in the office and Daisy not being able to contact him by phone. That return call never happened. As a customer knowing this happen, I waited for my appointment today and once again no one has showed up. I called office and spoke with Daisy at 9:49am to see the status of technician. She did not see an appointment for me this morning. I recapped the situation that happened 2 weeks ago today and she made the appointment for me. She placed me on hold and informed me that my appointment was scheduled with an employee who no longer works gor the company with no apology. All I got was a we will try to have someone come out today. I asked to speak to owner due to another issue and once again he is not available. He doesn't come into office until 4:30pm and the business closes at 5pm. This company has no regard of inconvenience it has caused this customer nor seems to care. A owner that is not available to handle nor wants to handle issues his employees have created. I do not recommend using this company since they can not properly service the community in which they do business in. Also another issue of this company has is not providing services on Saturday which is another inconvenience with working people in the community. read more

I rarely write reviews and most are negative, but when I see a great small business, I think it important to say so. I initially called and spoke/text with owner Chris Hansen. I needed a rush estimate on a tricky piece of glass. He let me send pictures right to his phone and he sent me an estimate within about an hour. After seeing how busy their store/shop is....it makes his unusually fast response time even more admirable. He didn't dump the estimate off on an associate and he didn't put me off until that evening. He took the time to research the issue and give me a quote because it was going to help me out. Unfortunately, after requested a rush estimate I was unable to complete the transaction for a few weeks due to family issues. I again contacted CH about two weeks later with FOLLOW-up questions. He did not blink. he did not say, "oh I thought you needed a rush estimate" which, frankly, he would've been entitled to do. Instead, he again responded. all of his acts, combined with the fact that his estimate was 50% less than the other two shops I called, made choosing him a no-brainer decision I would also like to say thank you to Jose who recently answered a myriad of additional questions from me without ever looking like he had somewhere else to be as so many employees do nowadays.....a great business read more

I am one who always love supporting and using local companies instead of the big box stores, but I am shocked. I was connected with Hansen Screen & Glass from a terrific general contractor and neighbor who has worked with them for a long time. After calling, Chris Foster came out and measured 2 windows for me, and I explained we'd be doing the whole house soon (another 12 windows), but these 2 needed to be done quickly while we were remodeling the kitchen. I received a quote, asked for changes which he did quickly, and then I ok'd it. After that...NOTHING. I called multiple times and emailed multiple times over a week or more, explaining I needed to get it done, and wanted to put in the order. I even called today and put in the order, but called back after seeing an issue with the invoice. I told them I couldn't make the purchase until I spoke to Chris because of some issues on window descriptions. Lo and behold, Chris then picked up the phone. I said I had some problems with the order, but then asked, "so why haven't I heard from you. I emailed and called multiple times." He said, "well, you could just call the store" (fact: when you call the store to order they have NO CLUE about the technical aspects of the actual order). I told him its pretty easy to send an email at any time of day. He just didn't care at all. just said, without any apologetic tone, rather with attitude, "well, sorry". I said CANCEL the order. I will go to Home Depot and just get the same silly windows and forget about supporting a local company. Apparently they don't want or need my business.
