Chef and owner really knows Hawaiian food. As a haole growing up on Oahu, I'm a fan.

Well I spun my RNG wheel of restaurants and landed on Aloha Hawaiian Kitchen, so we popped in for…read morelunch one day and had a delicious meal! Ambiance was nice. It's in a strip mall, but the space inside is done up pretty well. Very Aloha. Very cozy. The service was A+, too. Very friendly people who helped me figure out that the only way to go for a first visit is to sample everything. And the food came out timely. Everything tasted freshmade. Great vibes from everything. So we started off with the Aloha Special (Combination Plate: Mochiko Chicken, Crispy Pork Belly, and Ono Shrimp. Mac Salad topped w/Kani Krab). Literally some of the best chicken I've had in my life. Part chicken katsu, part Korean fried chicken, just a really magnificent thing. Order this, please. The pork belly was nice and crispy and flavorful. The shrimp read a little too salty, though. If you're considering the shrimp, just be wary. The Surfside Sample (Combination Plate: Luau Pig, Beef Short Ribs and Ono Shrimp) was a little less impressive. If you have to choose between the combo plates, pick the other one. Pork was good, had a yummy, sticky sauce on top. The short ribs were good, too. Not too chewy or anything. And, the return of the shrimp. I also got the Spam Musubi (Spam with sweet sauce and rice, wrapped in Nori), because of course I had to. I will never see a musubi on a menu and not order it. This one was good. Standard. You won't be disappointed. Overall, a superb five star meal. I'm very glad I came here, and I would love to come back.

Very friendly people and the food came out very timely. The food itself was awesome. They had sampler platters that let us try a little bit of almost everything! Cons: The only con was that all the meats just read a little too salty. Maybe a little more lemon would help Tips: Get the sampler platters, like I said, and always order an extra Spam musubi! Those things are always a good addition to your meal or a good snack for later.

My order: make your own poke bowl,…read more The Review: The poke bowl was delish, portion was kind of small though. Most importantly, the fish seemed really fresh. I also loved their fresh cucumber pickles. Minus one star because unfortunately the place wasn't kept very clean. The staff were very patient and did the most to identify the gluten free options for me. They told me that they have gluten free versions of all of the sauces, including soy-based! If you're really strict, I would double check about cross contamination, as I found a piece of another topping inside the wasabi that was added to my bowl. Also, my friend had the fried chicken and felt unwell after. Overall, it has the potential to be a great poke option. To Poke Hana, I highly recommend you clean more the customer area thoroughly especially since you're working with raw fish and need to present a certain image.

If you're in the Mills50 area and looking for a solid traditional Hawaiian style poke fix that…read moredoesn't feel overpriced or gimmicky, Poke Hana is one of those spots that quietly does the job right! Solid 4 out of 5 for freshness, value, and convenience. I stopped in on a Sunday lunch with a friend, expecting a quick, casual bite, and that is exactly what it delivered. The staff was friendly from start to finish and genuinely great at recommending combinations. Service was fast the entire way through, from ordering to pickup, without feeling rushed. One detail I appreciated is that there are two entrances, and the back door is super convenient since it leads straight out to the parking lot. The vibe inside is clean and straightforward, nothing overly flashy, and I really like the nod to Hawaii in the decor. It gives the space a relaxed island inspired feel without trying too hard, just a well kept fast casual setup that makes it easy to focus on the food. What I ordered: I went with a custom bowl. The tuna and salmon were both fresh with zero fishiness, which is always the first thing I look for. I tried the soyu and Hawaiian aioli sauces and both were a bit on the subtle side and leaned slightly bland, but not enough to take away from the overall bowl since everything else was solid. The unlimited toppings were a nice bonus and pretty consistent with what you would expect from similar poke spots. My friend ordered the garlic fried shrimp rice plate. The shrimp came out crispy and savory, and the mac salad on the side had a nice balance of creamy mayo with a bit of carrot to lighten it up. Total came out to about $36 with tip, which felt fair for a casual lunch for two. Overall, this is a great go to if you want something fast, fresh, and relatively healthy in Mills50. I would definitely come back, especially when I want a no stress lunch that still hits!

Unbeknownst to me, I was able to book a character dining experience for the family even though we weren't staying at a Disney Resort We had a few first-timers with us and I believe everyone needs to have this experience at least once when visiting the most magical place on earth!! It's been several years since I've actually been to a character dining but this was just as enjoyable as I remember!! From the staff taking us to our seat to the server working our table and the characters working the room, it was great!! The staff made sure that our family was able to visit with all 4 characters and encouraged patrons to stick around if they haven't already met each. The food was plentiful and tasty!! I love a family-style dining experience that caters to the needs of everyone in the party! Even though we didn't have any dietary restrictions in our group, Ryan still asked. It was a well-balanced brunch and everyone was pleased The Hawaiian themed decor, the views from the window, and the festive music playing in the background made all the difference in the dining experience and I'd definitely go back again!!

If you're staying at a Disney property you can book all your dining reservations for your entire trip starting 60 days before your check-in date. This restaurant is located in the main building at the Polynesian resort which is very conveniently located on the monorail line. We were seated right at our reservation time. The dining room is large and bustling. The tables are close together, so there is not a ton of privacy. Our server was very friendly and helpful and explained that this is an "all you care to enjoy" dining experience which in Disney language means they will keep bringing you more food if you want it. I tried the Mai Tai cocktail (included with the dining plan) which was a truly authentic, tasty, and strong drink! You start with a platter of their famous Ohana noodles and other small items like gyoza and chicken wings. The famous noodles are truly very good and wonderfully flavored. Next they will bring you a platter of assorted entree items including shrimp, beef, and chicken. The beef was tender and a nice and flavorful sauce, but I actually enjoyed the chicken more which was a thin and flavorful grilled boneless breast. Again, you can ask for more of anything you want until you are full! The dessert is the Ohana pineapple bread pudding with ice cream which was a delicious and unique take on the standard bread pudding. The pineapple really added unique flavor and texture to the dish. Overall, this was a great dining experience! We look forward to returning on our next visit!

The place has a couple pre-made options as well as a build your own bowl. It's $13.99 and you can get two bases (white rice/forbidden rice (an apparently healthier rice thats black)/spring greens), two protein, 6 toppings, 2 sauces, 3 crunchies and 2 spicy add ons included in the $13.99. You fill out a little paper and they make it for you. It did take awhile for the lady to build our bowls but I guess since it isn't Chipotle-style where you point at what you want, it makes sense. You can walk around the meat and cheese market for a bit while you wait though. However, if you're not there for meat or cheese, there's not much else to look at except a small collection of sauces, crackers and drinks that you can get at a regular grocery store. The bowl was a good size honestly. The container they give it in is a little large so it looked lacking when we picked it up but it actually contained a good amount. I think the most commendable aspect is that they give a lot of fish/protein. The poke isn't bad. I got the sriracha mayo and garlic sauce on my bowl and I think they paired well enough. The forbidden rice isn't bad either. I got both the white rice and forbidden rice and they taste almost the same tbh. The veggies are fresh and refreshing. Overall, not a bad bowl of poke.

For the first time we visited them at their Gatlin Hall Brewing location and it was delightful! They had a special fish tip with toasted pita that was on point. And my poke bowl was loaded with fresh and flavorful ingredients. Another win is that there is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating so we could enjoy our bowls fresh... no need to tote them home. The service was great and fast... and he did a beautiful job constructing our bowls. The only reason I can give them 5 stars is because it's located inside a brewery that feels like a bar and it's not an elevated experience. Don't really love eating with single use plastic and a pub table. So go for the food and don't worry about the ambiance!
