I don't like doing negative reviews, but this experience was just completely wrong. This is one of the food trucks in A La Carte. The open seating beer hall and food truck partnership. They seem to be a permanent fixture to the little food hall. We ordered the Huli Huli chicken bowl with brown rice and the Tempura shrimp bao. The food took about 20 minutes to cook, which sticks, but the biggest issue I had was the bowl was ready about 7 minutes before the bao and sat in the window for that time. Why not tell us so we could enjoy it hot? It sat and was cold by the time I got it. The rice was mushy and taste like boil in a bag junk. It also said it came with pineapple, which I could only find three half nibs in the whole bowl. The bao were pretty good, but so drenched in sauce that we could barely taste the shrimp and accompaniments. The meal was so disappointing I only ate a few bites and couldn't continue. 5 Stars for tasty poke with unconventional options (Poke burger). I've had PokeKai in South Florida once before and opted to try it locally a few weeks ago while enjoying a girl's night in with friends. We saw that they had a BOGO deal on UberEats and both opted to try the Poke Burger with tuna and the krab rangoon. I absolutely devoured the krab rangoons, which luckily kept their signature crispy exterior even though they were delivered and not eaten right at A La Cart. The sauce was tangy and a perfect complement to the homemade creamy krab dip. The Poke burger with tuna was a generous size and consisted of crispy rice buns stuffed with tuna/salmon/ or tofu (we got tuna), kai salad, avocado, eel sauce, sesame seeds, and spicy mayo. It definitely packed a kick, but the avocado kept it from being too spicy for me! The only drawback for me was the crispy rice is on the oily side, but truly this is a huge serving and is really tasty. This is the spot if you're looking for fusion poke options served in bao buns, ceviche, and burger form. read more

In the area after coming back from the Kennedy Space Center, and saw this spot. At first I was a bit confused because I didn't realize it was a food truck nestled behind a brewery. Fortunately, there is ample parking, and the vibe of the location is mellow and chill. There are a total of five food trucks here, with PokeKai being one. I opted to get the Spicy Tuna Poke Bowl and the Crab Rangoons. The Crab Rangoons were filled with more crab than I expected and the sweet and sour sauce was a nice addition. Not starting off so great, 30 minute wait when they aren't busy and I just got a simple dish. I should've walked away when another customer stepped in front of me to ask about his order. After waiting a half hour I came and stood by the truck, only then did they actually make my order. There are other food options at this location so maybe skip this place. read more

When a friend showed me a photo of the poke burger from here and told me to try it, I knew I needed to. I'm very thankful to that friend because this is the best thing I've eaten this year. It's been a month since we came here and I'm still thinking about it. I got it with tuna because that's our favorite poke fish. The crispy rice patties made the perfect bun. The sauce was delicious. PokeKai is a food truck located at A La Cart, a food truck & craft beer open-air establishment. I have always been a big fan of PokeKai, but it has been a couple of years since I have been there. Today I went for lunch and felt disappointed by the quality and customer service. My friend and I placed our order, and after 20 minutes, our pager vibrated. We thought the food was ready, but it was just to let us know they were out of salad, so we needed to select something else as a base. After that, we waited another 15 minutes to get our food. The place wasn't packed. I feel that they should have told us that they were out of salad when we ordered to avoid the long wait. I picked white rice as my base and it was mushy. My friend ordered quinoa as a base and that was good. My go-to has always been the spicy ahi tuna. The tuna was fresh, but the overall flavor of all the ingredients together wasn't there. I remember going to PokeKai before and always being greeted by kind and friendly staff. Today it wasn't the case. They may have new owners? Not sure, but something has changed. There's an indoor portion in the beer hall, but majority of the seats are outdoors. I especially like their sushi burger. If you like crispy rice, this place makes a great "burger". It's tuna or salmon poke served with kani salad and avocado. Filling and satisfying! The food is fresh and made fast. It goes perfectly with the beer they serve. Also, they give free crab rangoons if you leave a review. Seating can be difficult depending on the time you get there. We came on a Friday night and there were no seats. I'd go again! The flavor, the variety of the menu, and the freshness is there. I'd really go back for the poke sandwich. Though it was a little difficult for me to eat it as a sandwich, the fried rice patties held pretty well and firm - and I could eat them on their own. They added a nice flavor and crunch to balance the crab salad and seaweed salad. The fish (I got the salmon in my sandwich and tuna in the poke buns) was pretty fresh for being from a food truck - though not 5 star quality in my books. You can order ahead via ubereats for pickup/delivery or order on site and eat in A La Carte. Seating is outdoors, follows social distancing rules, and has umbrellas to shade from heat or Orlando's rainstorms. I have recently jumped on the poke train. Honestly what took me so long??? So, although I have tried several locations for Poke this location is currently holding my #1 spot! What I love about it most of all are the unique flavor combos they use in some of their specialty bowls. I decided to try the Brie Shrimp bowl and here is what you can expect: An exotic combination of shrimp tempura, plantain, mango, kai salad and brie cheese, with our amazing new passion fruit sauce! It's mind blowing. I will have dreams about this poke bowl. And the size is great! I had half of it there and finished the other half later for a second dinner. lol The orders take time but it's worth it. Grab a beer and prepare yourself for a delicious flavor poke explosion. Oh, and the owners and staff??? SO KIND and sweet. I applauded them for their dishes and they were so thankful and happy. 5 star food. 1 star safety. I know everyone is in a different place with their comfort level with regard to COVID-19, social distancing, and mask usage. I'm not here to promote a philosophy just provide an observation. If you are mask aware, 2 of the 3 people inside we're not wearing masks while preparing/ handling food. I only saw 1 person wearing gloves. The person who took my order and did my food was wearing, and the gentlemen who eventually bagged my purchase did put on a mask. So, masks are not required, i get it. Hence me just making folks aware whom are mask conscious. I ended up only ordering hot food after I saw the mask issues and not my usual yummy tuna poke. I wanted a poke bowl but they were out of rice. So ok I'll have it with quinoa. That was an extra $1.50, even though they didn't have the other option. Then I asked for the spicy Mayo on the side and specifically said I was sharing with my child. After a 20 minute wait, when I was the ONLY customer they had, I got my $25 bowl slathered in spicy Mayo. When I took it back up to the truck to be remade the only employee was walking away. I told her about the issue and all she said was I thought you wanted sauce on it and on the side. I reiterated no I'm sharing it with a child. She seemed very irritated to have to remake it and I honestly didn't want to deal with the wait or attitude anymore so I just canceled it. The employee seemed relieved and issued a refund. Three days later I get my refund but it seems they kept their 20% tip. So I spent $5 to not have lunch. The food is usually good but really not worth the hassle. read more

Out of the five food trucks, which I ordered alil bit from all of them(I'm on a diet)I figured this would be my least favorite, I was wrong, it actually ended up being my favorite place, ran by a couple and their lil boy....lol........one thing I'd like to point out is I think most of their things taste the same, only difference is.....wonton chips instead of rice as the base.....or neither, just the fish............but every thing is pretty tasty, and as I said before.....fresh!!!
