The morning of, we found out very last minute that we had to change our venue due to rain and Gale was flexible and was right on pace - after a quick text to her, she showed up as the new location on time. She arrived in a very festive Encanto/Mirabel outfit; our location change ended up being to our home and garage. Gale led an entertaining puppet show (several other parents thought for a short while that her rabbit puppet was a real animal) - kids and parents enjoyed it! The kids loved her artistry with her glittery tattoos on their face and hands. Her balloon animals were also a huge hit. It was fantastic to have 1 person with so many great skills to keep kids happy. The way I do entertainment reviews is that I start the review prior to the service then come back and edit after the service. For Happy Birds, let me say this. I give an extra star if the service is everything it's advertised to be, until then I rate only up to 4 stars based on initial contact. After booking the show, it wasn't more than a day when I got a personal call from Julie Cardoza and she was very friendly and very attentive to my needs. She couldn't fit into my initial schedule but we worked it out where if I budged just a little on my schedule she would accomodate. Her choice for the show start was based on the well being of the birds so that tells you something about her right there. She has her priorities in order. So I decided to defer to her wisdom and all it cost me was for me to start my event an hour earlier. How can you argue with that. So, my event is coming up and I'll be back here after it's over to do the follow-up. I booked four months in advance, paid the reasonable deposit request. It is a week prior to the event, I have contacted them and sure enough they are ready to go. They are flexible on final payment, allowing me to pay cash on arrival so once again very flexible. Thus far, I'm impressed. Update: July 12 Here is what happened. Julie and Ed showed up exactly 15 mins early, pulled in and were set up in a matter of minutes. What is amazing is how interactive Julie makes this show. So many people at my party got to have the birds rest on their shoulders and got to volunteer for some of the tricks. Of course, the birds are incredible and beautiful and Julie educates everyone on their habits. The show was fantastic, Julie is the perfect set-up person and it was worth every penny. read more

Our daughter had Happy Birds at her her 9th birthday. It was so much fun and one of the best birthday parties she's had. Julie was great & the birds are very talented.So far the best entertainment for a party that we've seen! Thank you and the birds for the excellent entertainment!!I watched my first ever "Happy Birds" show the other day at the Senior Citizen Community where my Grandpa lives. I must say: they put on a good show! In addition, it's quite informative. Personally, I'm a strong advocate of animal rights and things of that nature...so with that being said, I hope the birds are truly "happy". read more

I had contacted Pam for a bubble show and face painting for my daughter's 1st birthday. The plan was a 20-30 minute show followed by leaving the bubble supplies for kids to play with. Pam arrived about 30 minutes late, and by the time setup was done, the kids were already excited and waiting. Unfortunately, the bubble show did not work at all. She tried mixing a solution on the spot, but nothing produced bubbles. It left the kids disappointed, and since we were already behind schedule, we had to stop and move on to cake cutting. She did a decent job with the face painting, and she did apologize and proactively offer a $50 discount, which I appreciate. However, the bubble portion should not have been committed to unless she was confident and prepared. First birthday is definitely not a place to experiment leaving the kids eagerly waiting Overall, while the face painting was fine and she handled the feedback politely, the bubble show experience was very disappointing -- especially since it was something we and all the kids were really looking forward to.
