"Extremely disappointed with the post purchase service from Happy Camper. Shortly after taking delivery of our new Arctic Fox Edge trailer we discovered two major issues: the refrigerator will not cool below 58 degrees (rendering it useless and unsafe for food storage) and the factory Arctic Fox rug has permanently stained the linoleum flooring due to a plasticizer migration defect. When we brought these issues to Happy Camper they immediately blamed Northwood Manufacturing. While Northwood did step up to approve the replacement linoleum material under warranty , they refused to cover the labor to install by our local dealer. Only way they would replace it is if the trailer was brought back to their factory. Happy Camper is claiming the trailer "didn't leave their lot like that." A plasticizer chemical stain takes over a week to form and bleed into the flooring proving this defect was brewing right on their lot. We bought a brand new premium trailer under a 1-year bumper-to bumper warranty to avoid these exact issues. Instead of honoring their warranty, Happy Camper and Northwood are playing the blame game, leaving us with spoiled food, stained flooring, and a broken promise. "Unacceptable service." read more

Our trailer (which was in no way advertised as a closeout model or listed as such on their ads or sales paperwork) had to have the roof removed this spring because the roof panels were separating due to the fact they were not even fastened to the frame in the joint over the master bed. Unreal. A reputable dealer would drop this manufacturer. We still have gotten no response from the manufacturer, but insurance has covered everything. We noticed last week the LED strips that run from the roof on the tongue side are literally smoking and burning out. I just.....I wish this company would care more about disabled veterans than to sell them absoloute garbage. Please do better. What a nightmare. read more

I'll admit my trailer is in excellent condition and the staff were cool. However, they really need to be more clear in their negotiations and to take more care to follow instructions. After agreeing to $76,000 out the door, they left me to pay $4500 in taxes, along with another $700 in late fees because they failed to deliver my title in a timely manner. (they used USPS and even sent it to the wrong address.) what did they do to make this right? they blamed me of course. Claiming that they told me they weren't paying taxes, but that never occurred. While it's true you could "technically" say it is my fault for having not questioned the lack of sales tax accounted for in the buyer's order, it still undermines our agreement and it doesn't satisfy the nearly $800 I incurred because they failed to deliver the title. If they'd made some kind of gesture to apologize and fix it, I might've had a higher opinion of them, but they basically just made things up and acted like it was my fault. I couldn't recommend them to anyone. read more

I bought a small teardrop trailer from Happy Camper RV in Caldwell , ID. The roof rack bar broke when I was going down a rough road. I took it the in to the service department for warranty repair. They told me it would take about a week. I had it back the next day. Not only did they repair it ; they did a lot better jof than when it came from a factory. Josh the serviced department manager was outstanding.. They even fix some stuff on the trailer, that I didn't even ask to be fixed. i cannot speak highly enough of the service department. The salesman who sold me the trailer was also outstanding. He was in no rush, answered all my questions and went the extra mile. The only negative was the sales manager. Gary was very informative, patient and knowledgeable. The woman who helped us with our loan was also wonderful, even gave us some snacks for the drive home! Our tent trailer was EXACTLY what we were looking for.. bigger tires, front loader, third slide out, toilet. Perfect match, so why the four stars you ask? The guy they had walk around with us the day we went to pick up/sign for the trailer was very off putting. He was supposed to show us the ins and out of the trailer but as he did he expressed his dislike for tent trailers multiple times during our walk around. He didn't really know what anything was, he made comments of how cheaply made they were, and even commented on how we will probably never put the awning out cause any kind of wind and it'll break now I'm not sure if that was a sale tactic or the dude just really hated showing tent trailers but for someone that was SO excited to get this baby just left us a little uneasy about our purchase. He even made a comment on how he tries to forget how to put these trailer up/down because that's how much he cares about remembering how to do it. 10/10 don't recommend that man to walk around your trailer with you. read more

I found the 5th wheel we wanted at Happy Camper - Caldwell. We are in Oregon. It was the smoothest transaction!!! We drove over and from our sales guy, Jeremy to the service guy that did our walkthrough, Brett and the GM, DJ that we signed all our paperwork with...these guys were all fantastic! Put a down payment on an Aliner over the phone and made an appointment to pick it up. When we arrived, it didn't seem like they even remembered we were arriving. The Aliner was dirty. The woman who did a walk around did a reasonably good job explaining most things. When we got the Aliner home (8 hour drive away), the door didn't close because there was a defect in the hinge. I guess "dealer prep fee" didn't include making sure the door closed properly. Additionally, the door deadbolt wouldn't slide into the door jamb because the strike plate wasn't centered with the door latch/deadbolt. When I got the portable gas grill out, there was damage to the hinge of the gas grill. I feel like I got the "scratch and dent" trailer. I guess I should have inspected things more closely but I guess that was my fault for thinking the nearly $400 prep fee would mean these things get inspected, and maybe even the trailer get washed of crud, before I make the long drive to pick it up. read more

Horrible service. Purchased new camper (Riverside Retro13.5) from out of town based on show price. Traveled 10 hours to pick up. Took camper out one time and had problems with regulator/gas flow. Cannot use camper without gas. Contacted Happy Camper who said I would have to take camper back to manufacturer in Couer D' Lane, ID. Did they offer to send me a new regulator. No! Did they offer to pay for service to check it out at my local RV dealer. No! Told service guy I would like to speak with sales manager thinking this guy would know what customer service is...he left me a message with the manufacturers address. Would have given no stars but that was not an option. I would not purchase a camper from them again. Terrible service. They were all too happy to take my money when I purchased the "new" trailer. Our experience was not good at Happy Camper. Perhaps it is because we are from out of state. We found a new Prime Time trailer at the Meridian location and the price was great. We spoke with them about it, it sounded good, and we sent a deposit. Before I picked it up they called and informed me about an awning recall on this trailer. They explained that they didn't have the parts in stock, but I could take it to any Forest River repair facility and have it done. We decided to proceed. When we picked up the trailer I discovered the VIN number didn't match the one from the ad. But it was the same model. However many features didn't exactly match what the ad indicated. Again, the price was good so we decided to proceed. First thing I did when I got home was call Prime Time corporate headquarter to find out about getting the recalled awning fixed. We also discovered that the radio/sound system was defective. They asked me "why didn't the dealer do it?" I explained the situation and was informed by Prime Time that their dealer network is not like the car industry and most of them won't honor recalls or warranty unless they were the original seller. Or they would be very reluctant to do so. That's not what I was told! But I found it to be true. Of the eight or so dealers in the Sacramento area, only one finally agreed to address my problem. They have been working on getting approval and ordering parts, but it still sits at their repair shop. I sent a letter to the president of Happy Camper explaining why I was dissatisfied but never got a response. Two months later and we still don't have use of the new trailer that we bought at Happy Camper. I am not a happy camper. read more

We were having a problem with our propane regulator, we're from out of town and we still have a month to travel around. We stopped in, they tried everything to help us the service man dropped what he was doing; came out to see what he could do by looking at the trailers regulator and lo and behold they had something that would be equivalent.
